    If I could give Budget Radiator and Automotive 10 stars, I absolutely would!…read more We were in Springfield from St. Charles for my daughter's MCDA Honors Choir workshops and concert when our 2015 Honda Odyssey suddenly started flashing warning lights on the highway--FCW, LDW, a flashing Drive indicator, and the check engine light. We were only about 7 miles out from our hotel, but we were worried we might be looking at a transmission replacement as it seemed like the transmission went "limp" and wouldn't change gears while driving! The team at Budget Radiator and Automotive got us in quickly, took the time to thoroughly diagnose the problem, and didn't jump to conclusions or try to sell us unnecessary repairs. They found that the alternator had failed, but they didn't stop there. During the repair they discovered the serpentine belt and tensioner were also failing because the belt kept slipping off. They explained everything clearly, showed us what was happening, and made sure the repair was done correctly. After replacing the alternator, serpentine belt, and tensioner, they checked the transmission fluid at my request, (which looked great), then test drove the van for about 20 miles to make sure everything was working properly before calling us. That's the kind of attention to detail and professionalism every customer hopes for. The van now runs beautifully, all of the warning lights are gone, and we have complete confidence driving it home. When you're traveling and your vehicle breaks down hundreds of miles from home, you're putting a lot of trust in a repair shop you've never met. Budget Radiator and Automotive earned that trust from the moment we walked in. They were honest, knowledgeable, thorough, and genuinely cared about getting us safely back on the road--not just fixing a car. Thank you for turning a stressful situation into such a positive experience. If we're ever in Springfield and need automotive service again, this will be our first call. I highly recommend Budget Radiator and Automotive to anyone looking for a shop they can trust.

    I had taken my car here plenty of times in the past with zero issues…read more However this time was very much different and i'm very disappointed in the way this was handled and i truly believe it was Jeff that was main cause for most of it. I took my chevy cruze here for coolant issues (known for the car cool, not an issue) however i waited 3 days for my car to be completed. Marcus had called me told me what they had done and i would be able to pick it up with no issues. however not the case... When i arrived to pick up my car the check engine light was on. No, it was not on prior when i brought it in. I also have several witnesses to this as well as had recently gotten one taken care of prior to going to telle. I returned inside to ask about it and marcus said "it was just throwing emissions". I am not a car person and had no idea what this meant as a single female. I asked why i was not informed of this and to show me the code that says "it's just emissions", again i didn't know what that meant and hoped to have it explained to me rather then just be sent on my way with a potentially still broke down car. I requested the codes be ran again and as you can see in the images it was infact something to do with the cooling system. So not only did Marcus attempt to lie to me, after paying almost $800, he had no intentions of letting me know that so i could've paid whatever to have it fixed. Very disappointing. Marcus said the technician didn't pass that along to him. I asked to speak to the technician, Christian, about what the code means and he said this was not allowed. Understandable however, customers are not allowed to talk to technicians but your technicians fail to give your front desk guys the full details ??? i then asked to speak to Jeff, store manager, who was beyond rude and absolutely less than helpful. He completely dismissed me and the fact I had been a loyal customer at this location for years. Come to find out after picking up the car, Christian had failed to plug in a portion of the cooling system to clear that. He'd probably be better off doing oil changes at walmart. I did not go in to pick up my car due to the lack of customer service on Jeff's part. I had my friend go get the car. Marcus was extremely nice and explained everything to my friend in a nice way however, Jeff was once again EXTREMELY rude to my friend while picking up the car. Marcus was mentioning the pieces that were warranted and my friend had mentioned Jeff being rude and hateful saying "yep she didn't pay for that" and "oh yeah she should've paid for that too huh" the unnecessary comments were completely uncalled for. I truly believe that marcus wanted to help as he mentioned his daughter had the same issues with her car. I felt as though my frustration was at the wrong person, the store manager is the one who sets the tone for service and this was ridiculous. I have never been disappointed in this place before and Jeff should really work on his customer service skills. In the event i chose to use this shop again due to warranted pieces... I hope Jeff learns to respect and learn honestly with his customers. I'm giving two stars because Marcus was respectful to me and my friend, Apologizes to Marcus as it was not his fault and rather Jeff and Christian.
