I was fortunate enough to meet Dana Cannon about 8 months ago when I was in terrible pain. She has worked magic on my body with her massage techniques, and has literally given me back my mobility that was all but gone. I can't thank her enough for the great job she has done of overhauling my aching muscles! I always look forward to my time with her and the relief I feel with every massage. I have had many massages by others, but none can compare to the results I have gained from Dana's work. There's nothing worse than PAIN that alters all of your normal activities. I don't even know where to begin with this review. I will tell you this though. Get comfy its going to be long... Lets just say I am so blessed to see Dana. I was at the end of my options for pain management for my 3 forms of arthritis the worse being psoriatic arthritis along with fibromyalgia. A friend of mine said she was having massage therapy done to help with pain and I should give it a try. So I looked into it. I googled medical massage therapy and the only company that popped up with real information and real reviews in my area was Aches Away Therapeutic Massage. So I figured with a name like that it must be what I was looking for. Then to find out that she was mobile and could come to me was even more of a blessing because I have 2 children that I home school that I would have to find a sitter for every visit. I called her and left a message then later that evening she called me back, not a receptionist, not a "helper" but the actual therapist that would be working on me. I told her my list of troubles and she responded with a "no problem". I have to admit I thought to myself, yeah I am glad you think I am no problem because to me I am a huge hot mess. So moving on... then we go to schedule an appointment and I think well she is her own firing squad so it will probably be a while before she can get me in. Nope! 2 days! She walked in with her big table bag in tow and took one look at me and had a plan. I have to admit I was a nervous wreck. I was at the point where I could not even be touched without being in severe pain. The idea that she would be pushing, prodding and stretching me scared me to pieces! But it was either try this or pain management for heavy pain killers for a mom of 2 young girls and only 32 years old. So on the table I went. (side note I am a very large woman and was afraid that table would give out...well it doesn't not even a little) She said that she "took it easy" on me the first visit but the next two days I hurt and I mean I hurt. Now don't let finding this out scare you. Where I was worried she was relieved because obviously that meant it worked great. So I saw Dana once a week for months after that day and (I told you I would tell them this part so here it comes LOL) to be honest when I hear her door shut on her truck and that table roll up my sidewalk I have very bittersweet feelings :) I cant wait for her to get here for days then I hear the wheels and tense up LOL then I love to see her leave and the next day I miss her already. Yes all of those emotions really do happen. She is amazing! I have been seeing her since September of last year I believe and I went from not walking pain free for more then a few feet if that and not being able to be touched without extreme pain to being able to walk and enjoy my family and snuggle with my family again. I cannot thank her enough for all that she has helped me through. Its mind boggling to me because before this I just thought of massage as some luxury that was not in my budget. Now I see it as a way of a healthier and happier life. She is so down to earth and tells it like it is. She has given me tools to work with when she is not with me. I am now able to see her once every other week due to the lower pain levels that I suffer from. Please know that this is not a miracle cure I still do have pain but NO WHERE close to where I was. On a completely different note she also helped my 13 year old daughter who was having severe lower back pain. I believe we can blame that pain on her desk chair that she used and the placement of her desk but thanks to Dana's advice and therapy my daughter is now almost completely pain free. Oh let me not forget my husband! My poor husband has the worse allergies and sinus trouble of anyone I know. Dana heard us talking about this one time and she started explaining to him about how its probably in his neck. So we scheduled him in. He now has a fraction of the problems he used to have. Its amazing! Thank you Dana for all that you do! Especially for dealing with the 4 year old thats in your face and stealing your stool while you are working on us. Oh and the dog that jumps on the bed looking for attention in the middle of the massage. Oh and the cats that rub themselves on your legs and feet taking care of their own affection.
