Principles of good attitude and behavior are a paramount ingredient in Master Yoo's method of training. He has become more focused, confident, polite, physically stronger and more flexible, as well as learning useful self defense. Even when he's exhausted after school or on a Saturday morning and doesn't feel like going, we still go and ALWAYS he comes out refreshed, high almost, and filled with zest. At first, I was a bit hesitant with my child's bilingual challenges but they were able to combat any challenges with communication either by having me present or with little communication they were able to get by because they care. The school in general has improved in a positive way and staff is friendly outside of instructors. There are lockers for males, females, and family. Upstairs you will find four individual pools with instructors teaching different levels. On the main floor you will find a section for infants to play, screens for your child to watch tv if they are not in class, and a screen to watch your child via monitor incase you'd prefer they are not nervous and can focus without the parents/guardians presence. You have to find the instructor that can work for your child's needs. If they move up a level you then have to see if the same instructor can accommodate your schedule being that if your child moves up a level that means you need to find what times and days that instructor is teaching. The good thing is that staff does their best to accommodate your child's since a child/parent may prefer one instructor over another.

All the students were incredibly welcoming and friendly even on my first day. I was pretty nervous about my first day, but everyone made it a seamless and friendly experience. This is a small, non competitive school, with various instructors, all incredibly proficient and caring. The intro trial, 5 classes for $50 is by far the best way to see if KOMAA is the right place to learn and train. As I said, I study both Yang and Chen Tai Chi as a senior man, but there are classes for kids and adults in other martial arts. I have not participated in these, but I have observed, and the philosophy is constant; learn in a safe, caring and non judgmental environment and improve you life. As far as my Tai Chi journey, all I can say is to quote Lou Reed: "Tai Chi puts you in touch with the invisible power of -yes- the universe. Change your energy, change your mind." If that resonates with you, then KOMAA is the place to learn and grow.
