She has such a calming demeanor but can also be a very strong advocate for you and your decisions when you maybe can't be. She is an amazing nursing coach and can walk or talk you through it. I would recommend her to any one, with any birthing plans because she loves and supports your rights and desires.

I have so many good things to say about Clarissa. She was there for me every step of my pregnancy…read more She was my doula for my first birth and as a new mom I had lots of questions and fears. Clarissa was there to comfort me through my fears as well as educate me on breastfeeding, labor positions, and how to write a birth plan. She was willing to go to appointments with me if I was scared and my husband couldn't. I decided to have a natural birth in a birthing center and she was my ROCK! I had a labor of 13 hours pushed for 3 and she didn't leave my side. For some reason the sound of my husbands voice was like nails on a chalk board. I needed the voice of a woman and the comfort of a woman. She was the best coach and support. It was the hardest work I ever did and it made a huge difference to have cheerleader on my side with my best interest at heart. She even made sure I was comfortable after birth and answered any questions I had about breastfeeding and being a new mom. Would highly recommend a doula to attend your birth. Clarissa was amazing!

You'd assume that a business that overcharged you that much would have reasonable accommodations and relaxed rules but you'd be wrong. I am writing because I saw the previous review posted…read more I graduated from NLC in in December of 2015. After a few weeks of searching I was able to find work in the power delivery field. I will admit that the job market is is rough in the winter months, but it only took me a little bit of time. NLC has been there for me every step of the way. From letting me continue to use their facility to practice prior to upcoming interviews, or the library to look at different companies standards of construction or to put in resumes. The previous review also mentions that the gear given doesn't fit because her son is over 6' tall, I personally am 6'3" tall and over weight, and my gear is great. I have needed the gear I purchased at skills assessments along the way, and further I'm glad that we didn't have to rent any gear as I wouldn't trust someone else to maintain the gear that I trust my life to. I also want to respond to the fact that the college requires physical task to be completed. It does, oh boy howdy does it. These task though, are the same tasks that I have experienced at any interview that I have participated in. It is a physically demanding trade, and as a graduate I am glad that they maintain high standards for people completing, as if they lowered those standards it would only serve to weaken the reputation of NLC. I can tell you that not every job in the power delivery field will require line school, but I also know that without it I wouldn't currently have a job in the trade. I am glad that I saw the previous review and was able to set the record straight as a former student and graduate. Thanks for all you have done for me NLC!

I finally tested yesterday after 14 weeks. none of the instructors are on the same page. I get conflicted information from each one. I was told I could do night and weekend classes but had to go during work hours. luckily I have an understanding boss! the equipment is junk. every Truck there has some kind of issues! while on a drive one of the instructors was on her phone the whole time on a job interview. very unprofessional and that says a lot about the school when the instructors don't want to be there. when they schedule you each week you get a Text. I went in one day i was scheduled to be there but when I got there I wasn't on the paper schedule they hang on the wall. And on the day I wasn't supposed to test I went in got everything ready, did my last drive and when the scheduled time to test there was not tester. They didn't schedule him. so I had to go in on a work day miss work once again and test. when I went in one of the instructors handed me the keys to a truck and saiid " check the oil you are on your own" when I talked to the regi director about all this all he did was make excuses about how many students they are trying to get threw the school and they are doing the best they can. so if I was you I would definitely look at another school because these guys will tell you anything you want to hear to get you to sign that contract but once you do that they dont give a crap about you or what you got going on outside of that school. I do have to say they do have a few good instructors and Jim the tester I had was too notch!
