Going into my first filling, I actually felt confident because of how positive that initial experience had been. Unfortunately, today's appointment was the complete opposite. From the moment he walked into the room, he was cold and dismissive. I tried to joke that I wasn't ready yet, hoping to ease my nerves, but he didn't respond. I reminded him that I get very shaky from local anesthetic, and instead of offering reassurance, he said, "You've had a lot of dental work. This is all we've got. You'll be fine." During the procedure, he placed and tightened the thin metal matrix band around my tooth. As soon as it was tightened, I could clearly feel it digging and stabbing into my gum line. This wasn't pressure--it was sharp, localized pain exactly where the band was pressing against my gum. I told him I was in pain, but he argued that it was "just pressure." No, it was pain. I tried to explain that it genuinely hurt, but he became irritated and told me there was nothing he could do about it. The pain continued the entire time the band was in place. At that point, I stopped saying anything and just lay there with tears running down into my ears while he continued working. His incredibly kind assistant quietly wiped away my tears and showed me more compassion than the person performing the procedure. After the anesthetic wore off, my gum remained sore, and I now have a cut along my gum line. After the procedure, instead of apologizing or acknowledging that I had a painful experience, Dr. Ledger asked if I had generalized anxiety. I told him no. It felt like he was trying to blame my reaction on anxiety instead of accepting that I had repeatedly told him I was in pain. I told him I would never come back. His response was, "Really? Wow." He then walked out of the room repeating, "Wooow." I want to be very clear that every other member of the office was wonderful. The front desk staff, hygienist, and assistant were all kind, compassionate, and professional. They deserve five stars. I genuinely feel bad that they have to work with what can only be described as a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde personality. I know Dr. Ledger personally responds to his reviews, so I'll say this directly: Do better. Patients shouldn't have to argue with their dentist about whether they're feeling pain. If a patient tells you something hurts, listen. Even if there's no alternative, empathy costs nothing. No one should leave a routine filling appointment in tears, be left with an injured gum, and then have their experience dismissed as anxiety. I told you from the very beginning that I was uncomfortable and afraid of dental work. Instead of helping me through that, you made one of my biggest fears come true.

They also didn't give me my records when I requested them just to discover thorough records were not being kept (violation of Dental Ass. regulations). Please do some research first before choosing a dentist. Beware of this place.

I find this very unethical! I also must mention that Dr. Fontain IS part of the Florida Dental Association, very few are around this area, this is more evidence that Dr. Fontaine knows his trade! I could not afford the 233.xx they wanted to debit from my bank account every month (hence the care credit) so I told them in December I'm looking for a new doctor. Fast forward to February and I started getting texts about her supposed upcoming appointment. I cancelled from the text and I called and left a message to cancel (could not get a soul to answer the phone) as she was starting with a new doctor. Meanwhile I managed to pay them $700 for my October, November, December payment. 2 days after the "missed appointment" they sent an email saying it was nice seeing her at the appointment?!? Wait what I cancelled 2 ways and didn't even go. So I went to the office and said we didn't even go to the appointment and I told them I was leaving them in December. They said there was no record of that and was very rude and told me that they are allowing care credit to those who started with it before they stopped taking it. I proceeded to tell them that she's no longer a patient there and I would like a refund of the $2000 they have already gotten from me between my insurance and I and they said they would have to review it. A week later I got a nasty letter in the mail saying they are discharging my daughter from their care and a check for the care credit charge for February that they charged without my knowledge because they told me they didn't take it. So basically they are saying it costs $2000 for the dentist to evaluate you for braces, put them on and change the wires once. What a pack of lies. Now this mess is hurting us with her new orthodontist because they insurance already paid the full benefit to this office. The doctor here is nice but watch the awful money greedy office staff. They are the rudest I've ever encountered.

So I saw Dr. Malki and he said to me that I can go right ahead and schedule and appointment to "my" location to have a new crown placed in. Yes I had to pay a consultation fee. So what? At least I know I can get the crown replaced with little to no concern. The staff at both locations are very nice and helpful.
