They may have updated the facility and now it may be looks a little nicer, but the products that they carry most of them are garbage ones that I don't typically buy. Many products are outdated. And the very tiny almost nonexistent organic produce is outdated or looks terrible. read more

We popped in to grab salad greens for lunch. I was delighted with the experience. Every single person we encountered was kind-- not just to us but also to each other! My dad used to tell me that, while we first tried a new restaurant because of the food, it is always the people who bring us back. This ACME location epitomizes that standard. Every employee was kind. I mentioned this to a woman who seemed to be merchandising produce. "Why shouldn't we be?" She was smiling gently. Incredibly rude worker, probably in his early 20s with dark hair, at the self checkout line. Not helpful, bad attitude. Will not be shopping here anymore. Heinen's has much more polite, helpful workers. read more

The store's appearance is better since renovations took place but it still has a less premium feel than Heinens. The produce area is often poorly stocked. The prepared food area has a grimy appearance and too many fried foods. Also, why do grocery stores generally have a poor selection of sugar free products, especially in the bakery? The store is usually pretty uncrowded so I often wonder how long fresh foods like fish have been sitting there? Likewise, it's often hard to find staff, other than in the check out area. Customer service also needs work. Many staff seen unfamiliar with items or their location when asked. The retail gift area looks like Walmart/junky. The liquor store is massive. The fluorescent lights give the store a warehouse feel. Generally, the whole outside shopping district around the store has a discount feel, devoid of trees or impressive landscaping. Hudson deserves better. The store serves its purpose if you're in a hurry but I prefer the quality and selection generally offered by Heinens. read more

So this is week number 3 of going to Acme on days that they offer a 2 day ONLY SALE! (Getting there at opening time doesn't help, been there, done that!) Again, either sold out of products advertised or have only 1 of a variety that has many options elsewhere. It's bad enough that since their remodel, the prices have gone up, and in some cases exceed the prices at Heinen's. Customer service is lacking and their Digital Deals don't allow load, you have to go to customer service and spend an additional 30 minutes. This was my go to store, but no more! read more

This store is consistently out of stock on a number of items I regularly purchase. Looking down the aisles you can see countless other items that are also out of stock. Love the location but the remodel did nothing to improve the shopping experience and the satisfaction has even gone down. read more

Recently stopped here to grab some food and drinks while planning our trip to North Carolina. It's currently under renovation but this store was great to shop around at. Very friendly and social staff. Prices were fair. Plenty of good liquor on hand and so much more to shop for at fair prices too. read more

Was very impressed Acme's ability to keep the store clean through construction until it wasn't. Today, lots of dusty products, shelves, egg cartons dirty. Recommend you wait until construction is over for a better experience. There should be a 10% off inconvenience allowance during construction. Speaking of savings, rec'd a $5 ecoupon for this store, but when trying to use it at the register, it wanted me to log in to my Acme account. Did not have my password, so, no discount. read more

Honestly, this place is kind of awful. The construction has been going on for nearly 2 years at this point and the environment in that store has to be dangerous with the dust and the constant construction noise. Also, even though the construction has gone on so long, if you're unlucky enough to be caught in a storm like I was and decide to try and wait it out in Acme, you will be met with panicking employees trying to put buckets under all the leaks in the roof. Not only is the store itself bad, there are employees there who should not be able to interact with the public at all, and this isn't just the typical bored teenager who believes and practices "minimum wage, minimum effort", there is one man there in particular who fights anyone he can, including screaming at his coworkers when they ask him to do something simple. The only star this store deserves is for some of the employees who truly go above and beyond, such as Kaitlyn and Hayley and the Service Desk, Mary in Floral, and Patrick, the liquor specialist. Heed my warning, stay far far away unless you are there for liquor. read more

Top reasons not to shop at ACME: 1. Carts are rusty-wonder what the back of the house looks like 2. I saw bakery being loaded into an Acme Delivery van and none of the baked goods were covered-YUCK! Acme is a locally owned and operated grocery store. In years past some of their locations were kind of like a small K Mart as they had everything, including a pet store. The management decided to drop all but groceries several years ago and provide good quality, even some locally grown produce. They butcher their own meat and will custom cut for you if you ask. I have never had any problem with any of their employees who are always cheerful and polite. While I routinely shop at the Hudson Acme, I used to live in the Copley area and shopped at their Montrose location. That location has EVERYTHING you could want! read more

Have always loved shopping here. Acmes prices are always on the low end and their weekly ad has hot pricing. Checkout is always fast and all the employees are super helpful. When I'm not grocery shopping, I will pop in sometimes for lunch. Their daily hot food options are always great and the salad bar has a ton of options. I will always support Acme. read more

Summary: rotten food and rude service. I visited this store two months ago to update my card info and get a new card since I lost mine. This took thirty minutes. The temporary card was illegible and apparently the information was never even updated since my old phone number is still in the system. Does this mean my replacement card - with check cashing privileges - went to my old address? That is nice. Well since I don't have my card I guess I won't be shopping there anymore. Furthermore, the last two times I visited the deli for lunch, the food was rotten. I always get the spinach pies or grape leaves (so I know what they are supposed to taste like). First time the pie tasted really off, almost rotten.. Second time the grape leaves were dry and old. Seriously must have been in the case for 2 weeks. I didn't have time to go back and return them since I have thirty minute break. So I just went hungry those two days. The staff here is so weird. It is like you visited some other planet the older lady at deli is rude. I asked them where pita bread was and they just said I don't know. So at this point what are the odds of me visiting acme again. Very slim. read more

I worked here for a year and never in my life have I seen a more poorly run grocery store. It's embarrassing. The management is dreadful, they never schedule enough people. Every single day they have to page stock to the front for help cashiering and packing. The store is filthy and unorganized, and the employees are very unprofessional probably due to the fact that at least 80% of them are teenagers who just chat amongst themselves and ignore the customers. Oh, and not to mention that pretty much all the dairy and produce is usually outdated. The chances of me ever setting foot in this Acme again are slim to none. read more

Acme is a Akron area grocery store that is your basic supermarket. There is nothing glitzy about it or is there any special programs offered, such as Giant Eagle's fuelperks. However, you can find what you need in one trip here food wise. The only things you may not find is gourmet specialty food, with the exception of high end cheeses and a decent selection of organic food. It is easy to navigate for the most part, the only problem I had in my most recent trip was finding the right kind of cheese I needed. It took me a while, as cheese is scattered around the store. The employees are very friendly and helpful. Acme is a great place to get your grocery's as long as you aren't expecting any out of the ordinary services'. read more

I was an employee here from 2006 until 2012... When I first started out, it was great! Keith Brown was the manager and he was such a kind hearted human being. But they treated him like crap and forced him to leave. Every manager after that was horrible and employees were treated like dirt. Especially if you were young... but they failed in that department. I may have been just a teenager when I worked there but I'm an adult now and still remember how horrible the environment was and now I will never shop there again... nor will several of the friends I made when working there. This store is very nice and clean. The staff is helpful, and I have found the pharmacy dept. to be exceptionally knowledgable. They always take the time to explain in great detail answers to any questions I may have about medications. I used to go to Giant Eagle pharmacy, but it always felt like my questions were a bother to them. Acme seems to genuinely care about my needs and health. That means a lot. read more

Patrick has the beer, wine and liquor department run so well, that Acme is my main go to for any of these items! And he is so knowledgeable. You can say, "I need a really good bourbon" or I'm looking for a red with a very high-end taste that would make a great dinner party gift but is $25 or less" and he'll point you towards options that match exactly what you are looking for. I've found some of my favorite beers, ciders, and wines here when I can't find them anywhere else. And he's a pleasure to talk to. Honestly, his department is the main reason I shop at Acme, but in general I like Acme as well. It's not my favorite grocery store in the area. However I like that our community's handicapable people have a place to make money and make a positive difference in their lives and in ours. I don't often have success with the produce or deli but have great success with the great people in the meat department. And I'm glad to be able to get the groceries I need from often overlooked people in the community while selecting from the best beer, wine, and liquor selection around with the most knowledgeable man in town: Patrick. Friendly, clean store with competitive prices. It's not a huge store so it's easy to get in and out and find what you want without wandering long aisles. Includes a nice floral department and hands-down the best pharmacy in town--knowledgeable, helpful pharmacists who will knock themselves out to help. Don't forget the wine and spirits department--they have an excellent manager ready to help. This store has a tremendous social conscience; they hire challenged persons to assist with bagging and other chores and find a way for them to contribute. read more
