My current residence is centered between this Acme and the Woodstown location. I usually prefer going to Woodstown (or Shoprite in Mullica Hill), but if I'm in Swedesboro, I'll stop in for convenience. It's an easy location to navigate. It's right next to Mazzuca Eye Center, Applebees, Cicontes, etc. On my last visit, my friend pointed out that the store spelled "cheap" wrong on their advertisements THREE times (see attached photo). Maybe they are "cheep," as they say, but that doesn't always translate to "cheap." It's a middle of the road, average-priced supermarket. I prefer Wegman's above all other markets, but since there isn't one nearby, this Acme works in a crunch. I hope they've updated their signs by now. I'm a fan of this grocery store. It's very clean and spacious. I grew up in Beckett, and I currently live in New York City, this ACME is WAY nicer than most grocery stores you find in the city. It might be pricey but it's the only grocery store in Beckett. As someone else mentioned, the produce section isn't the best, but otherwise you can find almost anything in here. I basically walk in, grab my items, pay, and head home - the employees have always been really nice to me. read more

Customer service remains atrocious here. It really is a joke. Came in today only because ACME had a major sale on something I needed to stock up on, and I had some rewards points to use up before they'd expire. Get to the register, ring thru my bulky items, start entering my phone # for Rewards ID when the machine won't let me finish, just wants me to pay. I explain to the cashier that I have points I've redeemed and need to use, she is frustrated too and says the machine "keeps doing that" since they "upgraded" something or other...she has to call over someone else to try to fix it. He comes over, shrugs, and just tells me to call the 800 number on my receipt to fix it "or else we'll have to ring everything up again." I say fine, ring it up - they weren't that busy, I didn't have that many items (like 14-15 and mostly the same thing), I want my credits without having to wait on the phone. He looks annoyed and storms off, the cashier was apologetic and happy to re-ring me so I could get my discount. But this isn't the only time I've had issues with the customer service reps here either not knowing how to fix errors or not wanting to deal with problems/just passing the buck to the 800 number. I had issues during this last round of Monopoly as well. Anyway, in case I needed another reminder to stop shopping here... there you go! read more

The way items are shelved is confusing. For example, there are 3 different beverage aisles and they aren't even close to each other. There are hardly any employees on the floor to help you find items. Don't attempt to bring your dog. The manager will harass you several times throughout your shopping process to ask when you're leaving in order for you to get your dog and leave the premises. I couldn't bring my dog inside of his doggie bag then when I tied him to a pole in a shaded area, there was still a problem. read more

Store is big this is what i am used to .. Their deli selections is Ginourmous, breads and other pastries are tops around. The staff is very helpful, and i love asking for taste tests. Basically i almost had a sandwich for free with all the selections i was trying. Their chicken dinner deals are money, and for a deli its is clean... They have a pharmacy incase you need things prescribed, a floral shop incase you aggravate your wife, or need a quick flower or 2 for an anniversary. Cards to go with the flowers... Basically this big mamma jamma has it all. I work about a mile from this location so it has come in handy for everything.. dinners for us when we want something other than wawa or pizza spots. Very clean, alot of different ethinic varieties(Italian/Spanish/French). Wish this spot was 24/7 Good stuff read more

Acme is a nice enough supermarket and it is the closest supermarket for many of the folks in Woolwich Township. I particularly like their seafood selection and they also have a nice produce selection. However, their made to order food variety is not that varied and the square footage of the store as a whole is limited when compared to many of the mega-stores that are so popular today. This means the selection of many sizes and specialty items is limited. However, the biggest issue is that their prices are not as good as their closest competitors. Acme is a great place to go to pick up dinner for tonight or your daily staples, but there are better options for your bi-weekly (or weekly if your kids are like mine - haha) "big" shopping trip for both value and selection. read more

Actually if I could not give it any stars that's what this acme would get. Very disappointing, they remodeled the store put a Starbucks in there nice floors and it is not kept up with. floors are filthy dirty lacking in product. every time I go in there shelves empty out of items very very very sad to see this beautiful store go down the tubes. Worst Starbucks employees here. Why would you use ACME employees to cover Starbucks? They are the slowest among all Starbucks I have ever been, and all their cashiers still need a booklet to check every single price for the products you purchase. They love to chitchat and they would still be doing their own thing even when customers arrive. If 8-9 out of your 10 visits suck because of speed issue, maybe there is a speed issue? Starbucks, you are not saving any money by installing a mini store inside ACME. You need to have a real store and hire real people who know what they are doing. Excellent service at the Acme/Sav-on Pharmacy! Brian the pharmacist, remembered to check my eligibility for a specific promotion on his second day back after a two week vacation, long after I forgot about it! After filling their five prescriptions, customers may be eligible to receive an Acme gift card, but I didn't find out about the promo until I had filled more than 5 scripts As a quasi pauper, this was huge for me! I should have know they were awesome: the first time I filled something there, he called about two weeks later to find out if it was working for me. Every time I've been in there since then, he's ready to help and advise. I have had my share of lousy pharmacies, and when I first moved here, I tried one of the other national chain pharmacies, which was a nightmare. I was skeptical to try Acme at first, considering the way they price everything - a single grape is about $10- but overall, their customer service is EXCELLENT. If I know a highly competent professional is going to remember my name and go out of his way to help me, I would rather take out a mortgage to buy cereal than worry about whether my insurance was going to get billed for a 30 day supply of Skittles. read more

Although, I was a little frazzled because of time constraints and may have seemed a bit impatient, she remained calm and graciously (with great professionalism) assisted and assured me that they could produce the vision I had for my daughter's cake. I explained to her the importance of having the specific instructions perfectly carried out including the spelling of my daughter's name because this cake was in honor of her passing the BAR Exam, and "Lisa" and the bakery department totally complied. Last evening's event was beyond memorable inclusive of the highly-decorative and delicious-tasting chocolate cake with cream cheese icing. I gave this location high marks because their shelves have always been stocked if I needed something. Sure their pricing on items can be higher. That's why I comparison shop and go somewhere else when necessary. The Starbucks may get complaints on speed but I see it as service with a smile and an apology if they were slow. read more

This store is a complete waste of time to visit and offers absolutely NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. It survives because it is the only grocery store within a ten mile radius. The selection is small and the prices are much higher than other grocery stores. The only reason I used to shop at this store occasionally is because it is the only grocery store in town. I usually made the 20 minute drive to their competitor for my weekly shopping. Their prices are very high, the selection is small and the management knows that they have a captive market, they do not care. Last week I went in for some shrimp and the seafood case was labeled "Fresh Gulf Shrimp" and "Farm Raised Indonesia" on the same item. I asked the girl working there which they were and she said "I'm not sure which tag is right, I just work here". I passed on the shrimp as they were very smelly. After looking at the rest of the items in the case, the only wild caught North American item available was Croaker, so I bought 4 pounds of that. I took it home and cooked it for dinner and noticed that there was a bad bleach smell coming from the pan. I pulled some fish out and tried it and it tasted like Clorox! My cats wouldn't even touch it! I went back to the store the next day and spoke to the manager and told him about my experience. He told me very rudely that "We never dip our fish in anything, it must have come from our vendor that way", then walked off. Guilty as charged... I will never shop there again. The only reason this Acme survives is because it's the only game in town, but I avoid this place like the plague unless I am in DESPERATE need since there are no other grocery stores on my commute. Their number one offense: the prices are very high compared to my usual stop - Shoprite. Today I paid double for limes and double per pound on red bell peppers than I would have had I gone to Shoprite. And that's just produce! Meat, dairy, canned goods - every item is more expensive, and not just by a few cents either. You could EASILY save $20-$30/week without trying just by going to the Shoprite in Mullica Hill. Add in a Price Plus card and you'll do even better. My other major problem with this Acme is the lack of selection. It is a very bare bones store that only carries the most common items. For example, today I went in looking for hominy and there was none to be found. I will give them a pass on that one since it is leaning on a specialty item, but still disappointing. But then they did not have cannellini beans either - what? They boast a sort of "World Market" aisle with Asian, Hispanic and Italian items, but the items I went looking for that I would assume to be available in that section were no where to be found. That's two items from the chili I was going to make that I am now missing, so I had to completely change my dinner plans. I find it absurd that anyone would voluntarily come here for their regular food shopping, so I highly recommend going the extra 10 miles to Shoprite - it'll save you a ton and the selection is so much better! read more

Just left, really like the sushi. In the self check out and i put the 3 packets of soy sauce in the bag with it. The "watcher" is 1 foot behind me and goes "huh". I ask is there is an issue, im in there every day. She says nothing and walks away. Am i a soy sauce packet thief? Well just lost a customer. I will be calling acme corporate. Its the cashier with the knee brace. I get people try to get over but give me a break. I also paid for 2 packets of dressing at 55 cents a piece. read more

The worst customer service ever. I was at the deli counter on a Sunday late afternoon. The store was very quiet. One employee was busy with a large order, while two other workers were shuffling around behind the deli counter. I was the only person waiting to be served and waited patiently for one of the women to help me. I waited 10 minutes and then another customer came along, grabbed a number from the machine and was served immediately! After that customer was served the employee came over to me and said she only serves customers who have a number because the store gets very busy. Remember, I waited for over 10 minutes before the other customer arrived. I will NEVER RETURN to this store. read more

Why are you so darn high price. I dont have a car so the delivery is great fyi in store price is cheaper then online shopping. When are you guys going to get it? I also love it when an 18 year old kid attempts to cut a piece of salmon. I like this Acme, especially when I'm staying in NJ and near home. They are about the only supermarket within 20 mi of where I'm staying that keeps "good" apples until well late into the season. Good apples for me means either fresh and juicy Macintosh, or Rome. Most other stores long stopped carrying them by late Fall, but not them. I also like the store inventory, much more complete than another, closer to me, Acme that I have frequented. Staff seems friendly enough. read more
