Great people and service. Not so great prices. I go when I see great SALE prices. Ok for me in a pinch.

Today the Celsius drink is, one FREE. They charged me $2.00 for it. That is on the U DEALS. I used the self checkout, and the box comes up that lets you get cash back. I thought. It was for a donation. I didn't see anything about donating to something. It cost me $20.00. They should have something bigger about donations. They should also have signs on the registers saying: NO CASH BACK; do they? NO. It is just one more way ACME RIPS YOU OFF. THEY HAVE THE HIGHEST PRICES AROUND. One good thing about ACME is, they have good meat. But not the Deli. They sell the same junk Walmart sells. read more

I'm gonna be real, Acme here used to be better but it still beats ShopRite down the street that's always packed. I have ran into a couple of miserable people in the front end but most of the time it's fine. One of the cashiers they use they should really keep just on the carts and sweeping the floor though because he doesn't know how to talk to customers correctly, that's all I'll say but they have plenty of self checkouts to avoid people like that. Produce also isn't always the best and would only come in to buy if I had other things I bought already and I have gotten expired yogurt there as well so you all should watch the shelves because that turns people away because they're not buying. All in all I think the place could improve if they put a little bit more effort but not against coming once in a while when Aldi doesn't have what I want read more

I only shop ACME for their amazing sales. You can save a ton of money on sale items. The catch is if you buy anything at the ridicuously high full price here, then you completely negate your savings. I'll stop in for a roasted chicken or salad stuff after work & then just browse the sale items. Stock up on sale stuff that is non-perishable, and you make out great. This is not a regular spot for me, but it's a handy location. And they have a Redbox. read more

First off this store is closer than ShopRite, which the majority of the time is crowded. Generally has the same quantity if not more with less traffic. The store is clean and big and the staff have no problem tending to your needs. I recommend coming to this store before having to go down the road to ShopRite. read more

We have always done pick up or delivery with Safeway - when we moved out here and saw the Safeway here was called Acme, we went ok, same difference. The products are the same - no big deal. But the customer service at ACME has been night and day from Safeway. Never had any problems with the Safeway orders. Ordering from ACME is rolling the dice. You might get it, or you might not. You might get a broken bunch of stuff. You might get a bag full of kitchen cleaner on your food. If I say you can substitute, SUBSTITUTE. Don't just leave stuff out. I ordered 4 bottles of water and they vanished from the order and never showed up. Are you telling me there is zero water in the store? One night we ordered a rotisserie chicken for dinner - was not in the order. Is this an east/west coast thing? Normally whoever is picking the order texts or calls and says "we're out of X, Y and Z," so you KNOW before you pick it up and take it home thinking you've got dinner done. It also gives you a chance to say, "oh crap, can you grab (whatever) instead?" Tonight I picked up my order and the 409 I ordered was in the bag with a bunch of stuff and was open, so my trunk now reeks of cleaner and I had to throw the whole bag away. They refunded the items, but yeah, I still have to go buy stuff for dinner. If you do delivery, check the bags before you leave. I have also had them say they were out of things and I walked in and it was right there. Not sure if the people picking the groceries just DGAF or what. read more

Rude employees! I checked out, and had my own bags. Apparently the cashier didn't see them. She started yelling at me that she was going to throw them all away, and it was my own fault for not informing her fast enough. She was over the top nasty. I took the goods out of the bags (we don't have bag recycling at my home), and put them on the counter. As I was leaving, she told me to have a nice day in the most nasty tone possible. When I didn't respond, she started yelling at me! She then said I grabbed something out of her hand, which is a flat out lie. I never touched her, or anything she was touching. Don't come here if you want to be treated like a human being! read more

It's very obvious why the parking lot is nearly empty all the time. The customer service is AWFUL. Employee's clearly don't want to be there. Rotten attitudes from everyone but especially the women there. Very trash vibe from almost all of them. There's typically only about two lanes open at any time. Do yourself a favor and drive up the road to the Shoprite. read more

Not sure why this market doesn't have great reviews. This is the first ACME I've been to so I can't compare it to others. However, it is a large, clean, and bright market. We came here to find pre-prepared food for a family dinner. While the food was not inexpensive, it turned out to be delicious! All of the food was really good from the scalloped potatoes to the fruit salad. What was *beyond* was dessert OMG. We had small/personal carrot cake, lemon cake, and tiramisu cake. All were very much enjoyed. The carrot cake frosting was maybe the best I'd ever tasted. Highly recommend this market in terms of easy prep foods! read more

I love this Acme, I've been a customer here for 50 years. The quality is excellent, we especially meats and fresh fruit/vegetables, staff is courteous and knowledgable. Today I bought a pre-made hoagie. and normally they're good, but the one I bought today was lacking in proper ingredients. I'm a traveling chef among other things. I do my best to avoid going to ACME of any sort and I don't write reviews until now. Had a cart filled to the brim with Groceries. It was 7:30 pm None of the cashier lights were on. One person was checking out. The cashier told me " lights off!" I said " where should go then there are no other cashiers" the cashier then screeched " Bob!!!" Now Bob whom I'm assuming is some type of manager was behind customer service desk with a generous amount of ketchup on his face just shrugged his shoulders. They then told me to go to self checkout. I think self checkout is great however if you have a full court it's quite impossible to balance a cart filled to brim on the small bagging table. While I struggled six acme employees stood behind and watched with they're arms crossed including the cashier. Kinda felt like a kick in the face and a bit of a scumbag move. read more

Second time I've had an awful experience here. Last time the produce was all gross and the onions were moldy. This time was the last straw. I went to the Coinstar to cash in some of the extra change I had laying around. This blonde haired woman with a long pony tail from guest services comes up to me and says "are you gonna be a while? Cuz I'm out of money" umm ok? Then she comes back frantic and once again tells me to stop what I'm doing cuz she doesn't have cash. IT WAS $45 WORTH OF CHANGE! wtf am I supposed to do?! Then she comes back a 3rd time and says "take your voucher to a cashier when you're finished" well why didn't you say that the first time?!? I told her how rude she is. Management clearly needs to have a meeting with their employees about people and their customer service skills because you're obviously lacking! read more

I bought some Jonas crab claws and Jumbo snow crab claws 2 days ago. We steamed the Jonas claws this evening. What a disappointment. They must have been frozen at least 4 months ago. The meat was yellow and dry. I have no idea why ACME thinks it's ok to sell old seafood. It's not beef and doesn't get better with age. It was old, dried out and tasted like dehydrated crab claws. I would suggest that anyone who likes seafood not to purchase what ACME represents as seafood, at ACME. This was an absolutely horrible experience. I warmed up some Red Baron Supreme Pizza slices and had that for dinner. What a waste of money (about $20.00). This is the last seafood I'll ever buy here. I've taken some pictures and will be approaching the manager, Ron Kara, for a refund. I only wish I could post the pictures on this review. You would all be repulsed. read more

The thing is you get what you pay for. Acme is by far not the cheapest grocery store and I had a less desirable experience with one of the managers at the front in a heated meat debate. The General manager Steve took the time to resolve the situation and the most professional way I've ever seen. Steve is an asset to the store and the only reason I will be shopping there again! I ordered a corsage for Homecoming. I expected another rose or two. I think this looks more like a boutonnière than a wrist corsage. I don't think it was worth $24.99. I always defended Acme because even though their prices are higher than nearby stores like Aldi and Shoprite, their sales are so great. Tonight, however make me never want to go back. The staff was not only abusive, but not keeping social distancing, which threatens my life. I went into an almost empty (of customers) store, was in one of the few aisles where there were no customers to worry about, and an employee came up from behind me and walked right by me, within inches of me. In fact she was walking in the opposite direction of the arrow on the floor. I said something to her, and her apology was just a passing, "sorry," barely sincere or woke. I raised my voice and told her how serious it was, that she should have at least warned me she was approaching so I could have backed up. Some stranger came to the front of the aisle who didn't identify himself, and told me to leave, and that it was my fault because even though i was standing STILL in the aisle when this happened, that I was going the wrong way in the aisle - as if that made a difference -- and ordered me to leave. I assume he was an employee but I really don't know since he offered up nothing. Meanwhile he and the workers blocked both ends of the aisle, so I could not leave without walking directly by them. I repeatedly told him that he wouldn't LET me leave, and he had to get out of the way so I COULD leave, and none of them would move. They finally, after minutes, got out of the way so I could leave. Meanwhile there was a customer in the store with no mask, even though an employee was stationed at the entrance. DESPICABLE. ABUSIVE AND LIFE THREATENING BEHAVIOR BY EMPLOYEES. read more

This ACME has some really big positives but a couple big negatives as well. First and foremost they have great people working there, in every department I've dealt with. The main reason I go there is, believe it or not, the seafood. Best shrimp (black/white tiger) in the area, hands down. My wife also says the salmon is better there than Shop Rite. Downside is the non-sale prices throughout the store are pretty high, and the produce quality is below average (even for an area with poor produce in general). read more

acme is a good deal more expensive than the local shoprite. i go there because normally the cashiers are little bit smarter and less inclined to harass the customers. i don't want to be told i am destroying the earth by because i want to carry my ice cream home in a bag. i have an expensive car, as ice cream melts it destroys the seats. AND i am sixty years old. i require assistance walking up the stairs to my apt and i need to be able to drape my purchases on my arm and hold on to the banisters so i don't fall. and frankly, i am not sure 'you don't look sixty' was really enough to make up for all the stress and aggravation, not to mention embarrassment, that 'Nick' put me through. i am sorry i am not a twenty-somethng but i am tired of having to explain why i need a bag to bring ice cream home. it is almost as if acme is trying to save a $.01 per customer by shaming them out of asking for a bag to carry their purchases home in! read more
