I find the staff helpful and the selection of food goods is very good. Mostly it is extremely convenient.

With wonderful, vast Wegmans five minutes down the road -- not to mention at least 10 other grocery stores -- you just don't add up in my books. I'm sorry, Acme. If I could give this store a zero I would. Customer service is the worst. Not interested in being helpful. I had an online order to pick up but realized after I arrived that I didn't have my phone. They would not take any form of identification and then when I got home and wanted to cancel the order they refused saying I would need to call the corporate office to cancel. Had they wanted to be helpful they could have taken my driver's license as an ID. But no, that would be accommodating a customer. read more

Woodstown Acme is horrible--prices are ridiculous, the store is dirty, and the staff are a miserable bunch. The self check out lines are monitored by an older woman who stands and glares at customers as they check themselves out. I now drive out of my way to grocery shop elsewhere. read more

This is the closest grocery store to me, so I ran in for a few items. I somehow ended up paying $190 for two bags of items. Understandable if I bought steaks and lobsters, but that wasn't the case. I only returned because it seemed like there was a better selection of produce than my usual Walmart or Aldi trips. I couldn't buy all that I needed because a lot of sections were disgusting. Limes were rotting and covered in mold. Onions looked gross and had bugs flying all over them. I wish I took pictures. I decided to still purchase some things that looked okay, but I regretted it after bringing it home. Not two days later, my stuff is already going bad. The things that aren't already rotting are subpar at best (watermelon not sweet, pineapple is overripe, grapes are sour, etc.). The rest of the store seems fine, but surprisingly doesn't carry a good chunk of what I usually buy. Coming here is not worth the price for me. read more

So, Acme has a large, impressive-looking bakery with a good variety of yummy breads and breakfast items. They do cakes, as well, and did a beautiful and delicious rainbow unicorn cupcake cake for our granddaughters sixth birthday. It was perfect. Daughter wanted a couple of pies for Christmas but didn't want to bake them, having just gotten through the Thanksgiving baking frenzy, so she bought a cherry pie, a pumpkin pie, and a pumpkin cheesecake from Acme. She raved about the cheesecake, though it was too sweet for me. The fillings in the cherry and pumpkin pies were excellent, but I'd never serve them to guests; the crusts were so hard that they couldn't be cut with either the side of a pie fork, nor poked through with the tines. Eating a piece of pie should be a one-handed effort, but this crust was so hard that we needed to either pick up the piece and forcefully break off the outside edge, or put the non-fork hand up as a barrier to keep the crust from suddenly shooting across the table, in case it did release. Like so very many other things, pie crust in NJ is weird. Never flaky, it's either hard as a rock or bready, gummy, and doughy and sticks to the roof of your mouth. I don't know where these recipes come from, but nobody that we've found here uses the standard flaky crust recipe, any more. IMO, these "hip, modern" crusts detract from the taste and texture of the pie. read more

As critical as I have been of other ACME locations, I really like this store - in fact, it has become my default supermarket for weekly or bi-weekly shopping. Compared to other nearby locations (namely Logan Township and Woodbury), this one generally has better stocked produce and baked goods, and a much nicer staff. Pretty much always had good customer service here, and if you know how to take advantage of their sales and rewards program you can definitely save money. I also like that it tends not to be as crowded as other grocery stores in the area, which in this time of covid-19 makes me feel safer shopping here (the staff is very conscientious of safety protocols as well.) read more

I was in on Sunday, which is typically a busy day. There were only a few checkout lanes open, the self checkout lines were LONG. But to add insult to injury the Customer Service desk was CLOSED, and the attendant was actually behind the desk with the light out and she was extremely rude! read more

If I can give 0 stars I would... this is by far the worst acme in man kind. Seriously no joke. The old lady that works the self checkout lines is like a dementor from Harry Potter. Sucking the dear life and happiness out of your soul. I had issues with her in the past with attitude and started saying the typical, "well you know in my day son..." I'm sorry it's 2023 and people finally all agree you earn respect, it's not just given to you. No matter how old and wise he or she may be. This dementor you ask of? I'm sure you're curious. You won't be able to miss her. She's in her late years with white and gray long hair usually wrapped in a hair tie. She also wears prescription glasses that tint up when she walks out side. How do I know you ask now? Well, she clearly wanted me to hear her talk about me to 2 other lady's sitting down on break at 1:47 pm on July 22nd 2023 at the picnic table on the side of the building to the left. While I was so kindly walking my cart back to the store to save an employee I overheard a conversation about how she can't stand the amount of disrespect in people nowadays. Little too ironic you said that when I was walking past. Also, she felt pretty dumb when she noticed I didn't steal anything and everything was paid for to the T. There have been a handful of times i have come in here looking for something my acmes in my area carry, and they don't have it in this one. I understand, two different areas. I shop here constantly since I live down the road. They usually fill my needs and I have no problems. One thing is is that the male pharmacist will constantly watch me and my boyfriend walk around the store. One time he even followed us for a few minutes. Maybe he though we were stealing but seriously, you don't just follow people around on the way they look. Also I had bought a turkey hill half gallon of tea last night, went for some the next day and found black around the rim and the taste was sour. I check the expiration date and it expired two MONTHS ago. Very unprofessional. Isn't it important for food stores to make sure they're not selling expires products?! read more

I've been going to this acme for years. I normally go first thing in the morning during the week because the weekend people aren't helpful and generally rude. Against my better judgement I went this past weekend rude behavior place and as a crap hole and the manager on deck was useless. I've finally had it with this store. The pharmacist was the NASTIES most disrespectful person I have ever came in contact with. Granted my girlfriend was unable to pick up her RX's on time, but when she went into the pharmacy to pick them up she was greeted with a terrible customer service experience. The RPH scoffed and said she had just put them back and wanted to argue about the fact we were refilling them again. I am seriously upset by this interaction and want to take all of my prescriptions and hers else where. read more

The general manager is beyond rude. Over the past 7 years, I have witnessed him yelling at customers and employees alike, including a particularly disturbing incident involving an obviously mentally-handicapped employee. He is a generally unpleasant person. Most of the employees are nice. I only shop here when I have to. I suspect that the lack of competing stores in the immediate area is the only reason this store survives. read more

Friendly people nice selection and clean. Fresh produce and seafood. Well lit and finding things using the nice big signs is easy.

Some things really change in a few months. I was not so pleased with the parent ACME because they implemented some really bad systems to manage prescriptions. Now, with the pandemic, I tend to have to shop at the local ACMEs more because there are only a very few stores in the area that will deliver. So ACME decided that they should, in my calculations, charge more, eliminate many "special sales" prices for pickup or delivery orders and even announce that they charge more for items ordered online than bought in-store. They also charge for shopping and delivery on on-line orders. I figure it costs 25% to 30% more to shop at ACME. It seems to me that someone is taking some advantage of a captive audience - and not because it is hot and they do not want to go out but because they could get sick and die if they do. On the UP side, I still appreciate the pharmacy staff, the store does have more things on the shelves most times, and the delivery service is much quicker but that could be because the prices drive many shoppers away. And now to get even better, they will charge for delivering prescriptions that they were doing for free because of the pandemic, at least in the local area. But maybe they are on the verge of bankruptcy. So all-in-all, they still sit at a 1-star. Note that their competitors that can deliver keep ACME in the game by not doing a better job of stocking shelves and providing reasonable delivery or pick-up service. read more

Went in tonight with 3 items. 4 people talking at the customer service counter and the light was on for express checkout. Why i come back here is beyond me. I guess its the only game in town. The amount of expired items ive bought here is crazy. You need to look at the dates. On a good note the employees at the seafood and meat counter are great. read more

Living in woodstown, the only local grocery store is Acme, so if you're in a hurry and don't have time to drive up to Mullica Hills ShopRite, the Acme is your only choice. It's overly priced and doesn't have the best selection and employees are either rude or don't care. Their pharmacy on the other hand is the total opposite, Don and Brooke and their staff are the most caring people ever and are always on top of everything and will do whatever they can to help anyone who comes up to them. Recently though the store made a bunch of changes. I usually stop on my way home from work late weekday afternoons. You can always bet there's no baskets by the doors and need to go hunt one down in one of the checkout lanes. Shopping carts are always in the parking lot running around crashing into cars on windy days with a mind of their own. During the summer months the tomatoes in the produce area are a fruit fly breeding ground. They replaced their four self checkout lanes with four staffed express lanes, but they only open one lane during the weekday afternoon peak hours, making the wait four times longer than before. If there was another place to get groceries between the Delaware memorial bridge and woodstown I would surely shop there because anything else would be better than this acme, but there isn't any other choice. read more

This is an "ok" store, generally not the best, but ok if you're in a pinch. For groceries now when I'm visiting the state or when I used to live there, I would use either this Acme, the one at Pennsville, Walmart, or Shop Rite. I generally preferred Walmart or Shop Rite above Acme due, in part, due to better inventory of the items I was looking for and also due to friendlier staff especially of Shop Rite. Many times I have found this Acme to lack what I need and I have had to go to Shop Rite. Took them over a week to restock 5 oz Dixie kitchen cups at one time (come on, a WEEK). Many times they're out of diet Dr. Pepper (and so are both Walmarts I frequent) and end up buying at Shop Rite. Staff and cashiers can be moody, sometimes speaking and sometimes not. I have found the manager giving me a "cold stare" at times and he seldom speaks. Prefer shopping elsewhere, but ok if no where else to go or lack of time. read more
