Nasty estimator-…read more Just got off the phone with this company, and I am stunned at the outright disrespect I encountered. From the moment I asked a question, the representative snapped into a rude, condescending tone as if I dared inconvenience him by simply existing. Honestly, with an attitude like his, he could only be a third-party estimator--because he certainly lacked any professionalism or basic customer service skills. When I pointed out that their pricing was double that of other quotes, he had the audacity to laugh and snidely remark, "Well, if you want your stuff damaged, go with them." That kind of arrogance is not only insulting but completely unjustified. Lower pricing does not automatically mean incompetence or damage. Let's be clear: I explained, in the simplest of terms, that it was just one hour of moving. But no, their inflated minimum is two guys for two hours--$550 for a single hour's work! At that price, I might as well keep them around for an extra hour to scrub my truck and clean the bathroom so they could at least pretend to earn their outrageous fee. And then came the pièce de résistance: the smug boast of "26 years in business." Frankly, if this kind of treatment is their standard, those 26 years are 26 too many. Based on the fabricated-looking reviews plastered across other platforms, it's clear they've been relying on fluff and deception instead of real customer satisfaction. This isn't a business--it's a scam with a phone number. They don't deserve your time, your money, or your patience. Avoid them like the plague.

The BAD: the final piece of furniture, a dining room table, was brought in and when unwrapped the leg on the table was visibly damage. wood splintered and the leg was completely detached from the table. the leg was clear bashed into something with clear force for it to have completely broken away from the table. the mover who brought the table in denied knowing what happened; however, the table had to have broken in between the truck, elevator and being brought into my apartment. the crew leader immediately dismissed the crew and got to work on contacting the company to help place a claim. The UGLY: I have moved over 20 times in the past 25 years and am well-versed in things that can happen during a move - broken glasses, nicked and scratched furniture, etc. I have never had a piece of furniture be so BADLY DAMAGED during a move, especially a move that was 6 blocks. My frustrations with Good Stuff Moving really boiled over when speaking with their claims department. I did not opt for the extra insurance, so they were only willing to reimburse be for $0.60/lb for my table or $138. Additionally, I felt the claims agent was very dismissive of the gross negligence by the team member and was unwilling to have anyone comeback out and remove the table, as it cannot be repaired and is garbage. I never got a sense from this company that they were interested in "making this right" or going above and beyond at any level. I paid good money for the move and am out now an additional $3k for the table + costs to have it now removed + replaced with a new table. Think twice before hiring this company or at the least MAKE SURE YOU OPT IN for the extra insurance. read the fine print - my very expensive mistake!

They were also very flexible in allowing me to work around them to grab some smaller things and help out in general, to keep time/costs down. they also did a great job of packing everything into one truckload, which was not an easy task and definitely took some expertise. You could say that all that really matters is getting your stuff from one place to another in one piece, but moving can be a stressful scenario and the 'experience' of the moving company can really add or remove stress. These guys definitely provided a great experience. one last item is that they were very flexible on the boxes (which were free to use) They brought over a bunch of wardrobe boxes for us to use and we kept them for several weeks while we slowly got unpacked. they just said call us when you're done and we'll swing by to pick them up.

Based on reviews, I booked Skinny Wimp for our across town move. We were moving from a 2 bedroom…read moretownhouse - not a huge house. Three guys and a large truck arrived promptly at 10:00 am. The guys were great and they meticulously wrapped and padded all of our things. Everything fit in one truck load. The problem was in the amount of time it took for this move. The move to our new place was literally 5 minutes down the freeway. What should have been an easy move turned into a 12 HOUR move. Of course, we paid by the hour. As the day wore on and on and on, the frustration became unbelievable. The movers were kind and courteous but we have no idea what took so long. We have used many movers in the past with even more furniture and it never came close to 12 HOURS. We did a cross-country move two years ago with a Ryder truck packed by friends who are not movers and the packing was done in 3 hours. Unpacking done upon arrival by our kids - in less than 3 hours. My husband discussed his frustration with the lead mover. He said he gave us the best deal he could and my husband informed him we had no money left to give them a tip. Obviously, we didn't budget for 12 HOURS. Think long and hard before you book a mover. Get an approximate time frame or put a limit on how much time you are willing to pay. It's the next day and we are still reeling.

Minneapolis moving services are some of the most expensive anywhere I've experienced. I hope that simply means that MN companies pay their labor well. We paid $1365 + $180 tip (optional, but come on) for a 3-man crew at $260/hr (2-hour minimum), and we obviously also provided snacks and drinks (they declined breakfast). For comparison, in San Francisco it was $250/hr for 5 men. The rate was with both the weekday discount and winter pricing. Weekend would have been $285/hr for 3 men, and $345 for 4 men. There was no trip fee. Robert, in particular was incredible; he moved a 6 drawer dresser down a tight stairwell alone. They needed to remove the front door at one point, but did so without issue. They also were happy to use our own furniture pads and plastic wrap (leftover from a cross-country move). At one point, they had to back the huge truck through the alley on icy ground, and had no problems. Also, it was easy to provide them inventory by email, and easy to reach them by phone. Lots of moving companies were annoying to contact, which is partly why we chose this one. One a few minor issues: one piece of furniture was shedding pieces of wood. I think they were reinforcements put on by previous owners. I didn't even know they were there, and it doesn't seem to have affected the furniture. They also forgot a couple of items in the yard, including a big smoker we had to move on our own. It's partly my fault, I told them we were good to go. Also, we were made to sign a lot of paperwork, and at various points it was for things like "you confirm that nothing is broken and everything has arrived" and, like, it's weeks later and I'm still unpacking, there is no way I would have known for sure. It's fine, because so far we have had no issues, but if someone did have issues it might feel like being strong-armed via contract. The guys in the truck were just doing their jobs, so it's the process that is problematic more than anything. We would use these guys again!
