Made a second run at Acorn Saloon for breakfast - it really is the only decent place in Colville that's (not fast food) open on a Tuesday. We were impressed with our first time here, why not come again? This time I opted for the Denver Omelette. And, thankfully, had enough sense (I was starving) to stop and take a photo - but, not before adding some Tapatio. It was hot, it was STUFFED with big chunks of ham, onions and peppers and it was all VERY good! The hash browns were on point as well; crispy, tender and a lot of 'em. Service, again, was top-drawer. The new waitress (she said it was her first day) was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was like the last time ... it's a saloon! Whattayagonnado?? So, yeah, Acorn is quickly becoming our "go to." The other, local places that decide to only be open a couple days a week are sorely (going to be) missing out. read more

I've been here several times and the service has been decent. Can't say it has ever been outstanding, but today was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. The girls were quick to take our order when we sat down, but after 40 minutes of sitting there we still hadn't even received our drinks (one water and one soda), and they had not come to our table one time to check on us. We finally flagged them down and when the one girl came to the table she just said "the food should be coming soon", not even realizing we still didn't have drinks on our table. When I mentioned to her we still didn't have our drinks she had to ask what we were drinking again. She brought the drinks pretty much right away after that, and the food shortly followed. Once we received our food and drinks, nobody ever came back to the table the whole time to see how everything was, if we needed drink refills, etc. After we finished our meal it wasn't until my uncle got up to use the restroom that they came to take our plates, but didn't bother to ask if we wanted anything else, more water or soda, or even ask how the food was. We sat there at least another 10 minutes before the other girl finally brought the check over, all the while I'm sitting there watching her mess around on her phone and chat it up with somebody sitting at the bar (unsure if it was a customer or coworker). Granted, they were busy when we arrived so I expected there to be a wait for the food, but I didn't expect to not receive our drink order, especially since it was just 2 of us in our party and it was a water and a soda. I also didn't expect to not be checked on at least once during the 1+ hour we were there or have to wait around forever for the check. If it were up to me I wouldn't go back, but my uncle likes the place and has more patience than I do, so I'm sure I will. But I will try to talk him into going elsewhere first. read more

We went twice during our visit to Colville. Service was great and I liked the old west saloon atmosphere. First night we had the chicken fried steak and hamburger steak dinners. The chicken with white gravy and the hamburger with brown gravy--both gravies were exceptionally flavorful. Each dinner came with mashed potatoes and we had salads--toast too. The next night we had the hamburger steak again (which is a 12 oz hunk of meat) and chicken fingers. Once again very tasty and big portions. I had a great time here. my colleague and I are from out of town working and we stopped in twice after work. The first day , we felt really welcomed and service was great as well as the food. EVERYONE was nice. Staff and patrons. The second day we were greeted by name with smiles.I don't get that much in my hometown of Philly. Charging the EV down the street for 45 minutes so went looking for breakfast. Many places are closed on Mondays but not the Acorn Saloon and Feeding Station. The cost for breakfast is about $5 more in this locale than what we're used to (Whidbey). It's dark with a long bar (like a saloon!) and about 15 classic wood dining tables. This place is horrendous, they served raw chicken raw roast beef, they really don't care if they mess up your food. There bathrooms are always nasty. They never clean the soda fountain machine, ask the employees they will tell you. Everything in the back and the kitchen needs to be replaced it is filled with grease. Lord have mercy that place doesn't catch on fire. Food is way over price I never see the chef wash his hands. They're always High on weed sometimes the whole place even smells like it. I don't recommend this place unless you wanna go to the hospital from food poisoning or Salmonella because they don't cook the eggs right either the owner doesn't know how to run a business, hope they get help. While in town visiting family that had recently moved to Colville we ate here 3 times and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Staff was amazing, food and drinks were delicious, cost was reasonable, and the atmosphere was laid back and inviting. Well, eaten here before and it was fine but today was a complete bust, only two servers so service was slow- had to physically wave someone down every time we needed something and then it was a crapshoot if you would get it or not. Grilled ham and cheese was cold and cheese not melted at all - sent it back and when I got it the brew pub fries had disappeared and were replaced with regular. One other in our party had a grilled cheese and the cheese remained cold and unmelted even after a return trip to the kitchen. The food was ok, but not the best broasted chicken in the region. The flavor was good just a chicken on the small side. I had chicken fried steak and eggs for breakfast. Great little hometown gem. For what it is, this place is great. The new owners really seem to care and have improved the service and food quality consistency since taking over. Came in tonight for prime rib special that was posted the day prior on FB only to find out they are no longer doing prime rib on Saturdays. No bother. We ordered a couple of rib-eye steaks med rare and they came out perfectly cooked and flavorful. Baked potato on the side was tasty and no complaints about the accompanying salads. Nothing fancy about the food but just good comfort food in a comfortable setting. The service was friendly and fantastic with three men, including the owner, tending to our needs, refilling drinks, etc. without even needing to ask. This was my first time going to the acorn saloon. The meal that I had was good, however my friends cheese burger was less than acceptable! Raw, raw, raw! The waitress "Amber" argued with us that.. the cows that they used to cook the burgers are clean and organic, LOL!! Amber was less than accomodating and even talked about me and my friends to other patrons! Unacceptable!! The best breakfast in Colville. The food is hot and fresh. The service is friendly. This is basic breakfast, which is appropriate for a saloon! I was disappointed that my eggs were served super runny, though I'd ordered over medium. The prices are very reasonable. Stopped for breakfast and was very disappointed. I ordered a simple breakfast sandwich. It was loaded with grease! The English muffin must have been cooked on the grill and was kind of soggy. This place has the most amazing ambiance. The customer base are great people and the staff offer friendly customer service. There is one lady who works here, and she is awesome. Unfortunately, I don't know her name, but she is always extremely attentive and friendly. We always hope to get her as our server when we go in there. The other servers we have had seem to be much less consistent with in their customer service, starting with lacking their attentiveness. There's been a few times when once we place our order, the server seems to forget about us and getting drink refills can be impossible and getting the check is impossible. Many times we have to just go up to the bar to settle up our tab. I love the theme and environment. The onion rings are the best that I have ever had. Got our own silverware, our own napkins, had to freshen up our bloody marys ourselves. If youre waiting for a bartender or waitress to wait on you forget it. This place has a great atmosphere, but during a recent visit I was very unhappy with the portion size of the the same dinner I have ordered for years. I also ordered a double Jack and Coke and I could barely taste the bourbon or the Coke. Never had a beverage so watered down. I was informed by the manager that they are cutting portion size to make up for the increasing price of food, beverage and wages. What? I say raise the price, don't starve your customers. I would gladly pay double the menu price for a decent meal. I was basically told to take my business elsewhere. So we will do that. read more

We stumbled on this place while camping out at Les Schwab waiting for repairs on our trailer. We were hesitant to go in at first but I'm so glad we did! The place was well lit, tons of unusual curios to look at, pretty chandeliers, and a beautiful old wood bar. Our breakfast waitress couldn't have been any nicer or more efficient! Her attentive service was a breath of fresh air. The eggs and bacon were cooked exactly as ordered; extra crispy bacon and no runny whites in the eggs. We'll be going back for dinner tonight. We came here today to watch the Seahawks game. Nice atmosphere with large screen TV. Clean and bright with some skylights bringing in natural light. It would be a good place to come by after a nice hike or backpacking trip. Service was great and the food prices were real reasonable. Biscuits and gravy was delicious. Bartender is the only reason this place gets any stars. For the folks that left positive reviews about the food you may not want to read this.. .. I ordered a NY Steak Medium Rare... that "steak" was jerky. Past well... practically burnt! Not the worst thing ever... but the reason is the worst part. I watched the "cook" stand at the bar joking around with a patron and the bartender. The whole time he was supposed to be watching my steak he instead let it burn right in front of me! He was fiddling with his mustache putting his hands IN HIS MOUTH then he scratched his ass and went back into the kitchen. I listened very closely but heard no water running. Im assuming he didnt wash his hands. When my Burnt ass mustache jerky was finally served. I cut it open explained to the bartender. It was not as I ordered it and offered to pay for my beer. I do not send food back for my paranoia of vengeful kitchen staffs. They offered to remake it and i said NO WAY!!! They did comp my beer (which i couldn't stomach finishing). And i left.
