    First night hamburger steak dinner

We went twice during our visit to Colville. Service was great and I liked the old west saloon atmosphere. First night we had the chicken fried steak and hamburger steak dinners. The chicken with white gravy and the hamburger with brown gravy--both gravies were exceptionally flavorful. Each dinner came with mashed potatoes and we had salads--toast too. The next night we had the hamburger steak again (which is a 12 oz hunk of meat) and chicken fingers. Once again very tasty and big portions. I definitely would head back to the Acorn if we were in town.

Food: average. Beer selection: bad. But when we're in Colville, we love to go to the Acorn. Classic old dive bar, with inappropriate and tacky elements. Bar only, no kids.

    Petite Cheeseburger

I eat here often, love the staff, the atmosphere and quickness of ordering. The food is always just like I like it. Made to order. Owners are courteous and involved. Never had anything here I did not like. Favorites include petite cheeseburger, loaded baked potato soup, prime rib scramble.

    Ribeye cooked to medium-rare perfection.

Great little hometown gem. For what it is, this place is great. The new owners really seem to care and have improved the service and food quality consistency since taking over. Came in tonight for prime rib special that was posted the day prior on FB only to find out they are no longer doing prime rib on Saturdays. No bother. We ordered a couple of rib-eye steaks med rare and they came out perfectly cooked and flavorful. Baked potato on the side was tasty and no complaints about the accompanying salads. Nothing fancy about the food but just good comfort food in a comfortable setting. The service was friendly and fantastic with three men, including the owner, tending to our needs, refilling drinks, etc. without even needing to ask. The only downside is that it not family friendly (21+), but then again, maybe that's not a bad thing.

    Completely raw burger!

This was my first time going to the acorn saloon. The meal that I had was good, however my friends cheese burger was less than acceptable! Raw, raw, raw! The waitress "Amber" argued with us that.. the cows that they used to cook the burgers are clean and organic, LOL!! Amber was less than accomodating and even talked about me and my friends to other patrons! Unacceptable!! It surely seemed to us that Amber was more concerned with obtaining a tip from her male patrons than being a professional server!! The cook, needing sanitary grooming, came out and spouted out that the burger was medium rare..even though they did not ask how we would like the burger cooked!!!! Needless to say, I will never frequent this pub again and I should have read the reviews first!!! EXTREMELY UNSATISFIED!!!!

Good, cheap food for a pub environment. A lot of locals seem to stop in. Clientele ranged from 20's to 70's with the majority being 45+.

Breakfast hours? All day or till noon for example?

No, just until 11 a.m. - the do serve breakfast 'til noon on Sundays.

    What's for breakfast?

It's pretty standard from what you'd expect in a diner/cafe. Eggs, pancakes, waffles, bacon, et al. They do have daily specials for breakfast and/or lunch.

The waitress was great but seemed like she like she might have been in over her head a little with the business of the place but she did okay and was kind. The building itself is for sale, not sure if that matters or not. The entry is old school, but the interior is very plain and the ceilings are low, so it's noisy. Our server was very quick to get us menus, our requested water arrived quickly as did our beers. No complaints at all with how we were treated. We both ordered the small Borschts, the lovely K with white bread and I the rye. The soup was good, not great, the bread was very good. The presentation of the soup was very average with soup up the side of the bowl. Kind of looked like they had too much in my bowl and poured some in K's. We chose to go to another place (Chinese) for dinner after our experience at Clyde's. Nothing wrong with the place, but nothing stood out other than our server.

I've driven past Benedict's many times and have wanted to check it out. Tonight I had the regrettable displeasure. Our waitress was very nice. Perfect service. I ordered a main. A 10oz NY strip steak, medium rare, pretty standard. It showed up, a sad 8oz at best thin little steak on a soggy piece of garlic bread looking pretty crispy. I got a couple bites in. The initial flavour was bland followed by a bitter burnt musty taste, imagine trying to eat reconstituted mothballs overcooked on a dirty grill. I felt my eyes water up as I chewed. I tried to swallow. I felt my entire GI tract prepare to purge. That was as far as I was willing to go with this sad steak. Please understand that I've eaten some wildly questionable meals around the world. This still wins the worst. Our waitress came by to check on the food. I politely told her I wasn't going to be able to eat the steak. Without hesitation she apologized and said she'd have them remake it no problem. Cool, ok, great. My gross sad steak leaves the table. 30 seconds later the MANAGER shows up with the steak I thought I'd never have to look at again. She was pissssed! She wanted to have a full on argument with me about what medium rare is. In the end she charged me $30 for an un edible piece of meat. She was so out of line and ready to battle with me. It was actually so insane it was hilarious, in a sad pathetic way. Anyways, save yourself the horrible experience and the waste of time of money and go literally anywhere else. My dogs thought it was good! So there's that.. I guess.
