    Waygu steak excellent
    Norm W.

First and foremost the service at Acqua is exceptional, and first class. The space itself is very cool given the space they had to work with. The washrooms are a little odd, but the evolution of washrooms seems to be in full swing. We mentioned we were in no rush upon arrival, but did find the service a little slow. There were moments filled with a flurry of activity like the white wine cooler and red wine decanter dropped off and then ten minutes of waiting for the wine to happen. My Sea bass was excellent, and the lovely K's Waygu steak exceptional. Our guest had the Romeo and Juliet (duck confit & foie gras cappelletti, duck chips and truffle) which was very good, but the portion was a little on the small side. We also had dessert which we seldom do, and it was also very good. We got three items and shared them all. We would definitely give it another go.

I wanted to find a restaurant near Queen Elizabeth Theatre for dinner, and saw that Acquafarina had a decent looking happy hour menu that runs to 5:30pm, so I thought it was worth trying. I made reservations for 5:00pm. We arrived a little early, but they still sat us down immediately in the patio. Despite being right on Georgia Street, we felt were transported somewhere else more quieter. It was really nice. We decided to try the following: - Costolette Persiane - Very good. I always worry that lamb gets overcooked and becomes gamey. But it didn't happen here. This lamb was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of char. Yogurt added great flavour. - Gnocchi Pomodoro - Good. Very simple dish where you can't hide anything. The gnocchi was quite light. Smallish serving though. - Lucky Luciano Pizza - Very good. I could see the pizza ovens in the back, and they make good use of them. Great crust, and good proportion of high quality ingredients. - Oysters - Good. Easy. Meaty. - Focaccia Artigianale - Good. We didn't actually order this, but for some reasons, gave us a complimentary order. The balsamic butter is great, and the bread helped sop up the pomodoro. - Dolce Vita - Good. Solid dessert. Service was strong. Our server did everything that we would expect from a restaurant of this calibre. Overall, a nice meal. Good quality food and service, plus at happy hour prices. I would gladly return if I had another event to attend at QE Theatre.

Absolutely amazing happy hour! Blown away by the amazing service by the servers and Kerry - the food and drinks were all spot on. Came here with my friend Jenn and started with the espresso martini - delicious. For food, we tried the focaccia, the beef carpaccio, truffle fries and gnocchi. The foccacia was served warm with a delicious butter. Beef carpaccio was not too heavy and seasoned well. Truffle fries were nice and crispy with a good amount of Parmesan on top. Gnocchi were pillowy soft with a great tomato sauce. Moved on to the next other happy hour drink - bourbon sour. Loved the cinnamon in this. Next on the drink menu, the negroni. Really solid and smooth with a delightful citrus note. Onto dessert - tiramisu. Classic Italian dessert and loved the pour of extra coffee at the table. Couldn't say no to an amaro to end the night. Loved the nonimo - not too sweet, very balanced. Can't wait to come back!

Absolute amazing experience. Highly recommend coming here for any event or celebration. My food was delicious, service 10/10.

Servers were super kind at this restaurant with a classy ambiance. The margherita pizza was flavourful and delicious. The vodka pasta had an interesting herb flavour that wasn't described on the menu and the servers were helpful in changing the pasta to another one.

Delicious food - very rich so portions were perfect size. Excellent service and pleasant atmosphere.

I was not impressed with the Valentines meal I had here. The food was ok but nothing special with only the risotto and the steak being worth the trip. Service was mixed. Dirty martini without the olives, smarmy look at my date, odd portions and plating. Granted the reservation was for 10:30 after a show but for the price it shouldn't have felt like we were an afterthought. Where we were seared wasn't particularly nice either. Noisy near the back next to a ladder and the kitchen. Won't be coming back I'm afraid.

We came for happy hour on a Friday. They started off by giving us so bread. The bread was a bit dry but the balsamic butter was interesting. For cocktails we had the Christmas holiday special. It tasted like Christmas in a cocktail. Very warming. We had the steak with fries. The steak wasn't that great as it was a bit chewy. We got it medium rare and it was cooked perfectly but it was just a bit chewy for me. The fries on the other hand were perfectly crispy and very addicting. We got a pizza and it was nice and chewy. Well cooked but a bit too salty for me. I liked the smokiness from the char. The espresso martini was not good at all. Not smooth and the espresso was no good. No balance in the drink The tiramisu was well presented (they pour espresso into the cake) but the taste was Mediocre. It was creamy but very boring and felt like something you could get from Costco. Overall service was good. Very fast and nice. Hostess at first didn't want to seat us as we didn't have a reservation but after we pointed out that there were free seats at the bar she was happy to accommodate. Food was okay. Drinks were okay. I would only come back for the cocktail of the day and the French fries. I might come back to try the beef carpaccio

    Over salted waygu beef burger

Honestly I was pretty disappointed in my happy hour experience and am unsure if I'd go back again. Food: - we had the HH Oysters which were great. They were fresh, tasty and large in size - we had the truffle fries which were also fine The burger was the disappointment. We split the burger and I could not even finish my half. Two bites in and all I tasted was salt. Pure SALT. It was bad. It was also just meat. No lettuce, no tomatoes, just a giant salty thing of meat between two buns with some cheese and pickles. The server repeatedly asked me if I wanted to pack up the burger because it was not eaten and I declined (I'm not one to send back food but this would've been the time to do it). Perhaps I'm in the wrong to go have a burger at an Italian restaurant but TikTok made me try it with a review of this "delicious" waygu beef burger that was $28 on the HH menu. There was also inconsistent communication of table seating times. The hostess said we had 2hours and our server told us we had 1hr45 and we definitely felt pressured to leave early.

The service was excellent - our server was informative and throughly explained the menu items to us. Our water glasses were never empty and the food came out like clockwork. While they noted we only have 1.5 hours of dining time due to Dine Out Vancouver, we never felt rushed. The friendly manager/head server chatted with us to make sure we're enjoying ourselves. It's definitely a fine dining experience, the food was top notch. Everything was flawless, decadent, and mouth watering. My only complaint would be the portions were a bit small. I have to say I also enjoyed the table bread a lot - wished I asked for a refill!

What I love about DineOutVancouver is you get to try new restaurants at an affordable price point. Acquafarina should be on your radar as the service, food and ambience are absolutely on-point. We had their tuna crudo and wagyu beef carpaccio to start. No offence to the crudo but the wagyu was melt in your mouth delicious with a generous serving too. (We did see they had a pizza available for +$20 which we were tempted to order but didn't. Other tables did order it and looked scrumptious). Next up was their braised bison short rib. Exactly what's you'd expect with super tender and flavorful bison over a a creamy polenta. We also had their roaster sea bass which was excellent. The seafood broth was a nice touch to accentuate the flavors of the sea. For dessert, we had their pizzetta dolce which is a dessert pizza. I enjoyed that but not as much as the tiramisu moderno. A great meal and grateful we had the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful restaurant!

Another great experience Dine Out Vancouver Festival 2024 at Acquafarina, a Michelin Guide recommended fine dining located downtown Vancouver. The service, ambiance and quality ingredients used are all excellent. The DOV menu is $65 for 3 course. The options are: appetizer: smoked beet salad or wagyu carpaccio or tuna crudo entree: ricotta & wild mushrooms rotolo or braised short rib or roasted seabass dessert: pizzetta dolce or tiramisu moderno I recommend wagyu carpaccio, roasted seabass in seafood both and tiramisu moderno.

This was our first stop in Vancouver to kick off our girls trip which was all about eating delicious food, sipping craft cocktails and chilling. And I have to say it was a superb start. When traveling, I tend to seek out Italian places b/c we don't have many where I live. I found Acquafarina on the Michelin Guide website and knew I had to try it. After all, it is my dream Italian restaurant b/c they have bomb pizza, make all their pastas in house and offer a beautiful cocktail menu. We all loved the vibe even though we felt a little underdressed. But it was lunch and no one seemed to judge. The open bar and large wood-burning pizza oven perched above the tables create a warm, inviting space. Throw in some comfy seating, big windows, and wood panelling and it just feels so loungey. We also enjoyed our server. He was friendly and attentive. Started with the heirloom tomatoes and burrata to share. The buratta was the right amount of creamy, seasoned well and drizzled with a good balsamic. As I mentioned, I am a sucker for homemade pasta and their rigatoni did not disappoint. Beautifully prepared al dente, tossed with the right amount sauce and seasoned to perfection. My friend had the mushroom risotto which had the perfect consistency as seen in the photo I posted. Risotto is tricky b/c many places overcook it - but you don't need be scared to order it here. We made sure nothing went to waste and used the warm bread they gave us to sop up every last bite so our plates were clean when they left the table. Then there was that pizza with it's gorgeous crust all bubbled and charred, just the way I like it. What really takes it to another level is the presentation. When they serve it, you are instantly smitten by that luscious, rich, creamy ball of soft, fresh buratta sitting atop the pie they place in front of you. But don't worry, your server will gladly spread that warm goodness for you so that each bite is like heaven in your mouth. Not to be missed.

The service was also great, with multiple people checking in on us. The corkage, at $20, is very reasonable and the restaurant even comp'ed our tiramisu! We will miss it once it is gone. The food was quite decent. I thought the prices were a bit inflated for just pasta, but the portion size was pretty massive -- most of us took leftovers to go. The sauces in general were a bit bland and the pasta was definitely cooked to beyond al dente, which isn't my preference for dried pasta. That said, the toppings were generous, especially for the linguine crab that I ordered (would highly recommend!). Come by before they close permanently!

We started with the complimentary bread, which was a total highlight. Each person gets a fresh slice that has an incredible crust and a soft, pillowy center--dipping it into the oil and vinegar was the perfect way to start the meal. For our mains, the Gnocchi Asparagi e Funghi was my favorite - the gnocchi themselves were clearly handmade and had a great texture that didn't feel heavy. The earthy mushrooms and asparagus worked really well with the parmesan cream, which was rich but didn't overpower the other flavors. The Squid Ink Linguine ai Frutti di Mare was also solid; the lobster bisque base gave it a deep, savory saltiness that coated the clams, prawns, and scallops perfectly without making the dish feel too "fishy." We also tried the Candele Al Ragù D'Anatra. The duck ragu was tender and savory, and the combination of the parmesan fondue and aged asiago added a nice, sharp saltiness that made every bite really satisfying. Everything we ate was seasoned perfectly and tasted fresh, it's just a shame the portions were so small because the flavors were definitely there. The service was excellent and very attentive; I especially appreciated that they were constantly on top of refilling my water throughout the night. The ambience also hit the right note, making it a great spot for a night out. However, the portions are definitely on the smaller side and aren't super filling. Even though every dish tasted amazing, we weren't full by the end of the meal, so it's something to keep in mind if you're arriving with a big appetite.

We absolutely loved their house-made pasta during that visit, so we knew we had to return and explore more of the menu. Ambiance - 4/5 One of the things we appreciate most about this restaurant is the outdoor seating. On a beautiful day, it's a wonderful place to enjoy a meal, especially if you're dining with a dog. Being able to relax outside with our pup made for a very enjoyable experience. Service - 3/5 Service was friendly, but not quite as attentive as during our previous visit. Our server was pleasant, though there were a few missed opportunities to enhance the experience. For example, we weren't informed that alcohol could not be served in the outdoor dining area until after we had already started looking at the drink menu while we were in the middle of dining. Food - 4/5 The highlight of this restaurant continues to be its house-made pasta. The texture is wonderfully chewy and perfectly cooked, giving each dish a freshness that's difficult to find elsewhere. This visit, we tried the mushroom tagliatelle with truffle rosé sauce. While the description sounded incredible, the dish didn't quite live up to our expectations. It was enjoyable, but we still preferred the bolognese from our previous visit and cacio e pepe from this visit, both of which showcased the pasta more effectively. We also ordered the gnocchi, which was well prepared and satisfying to certain extent, but it didn't surpass our favorite one from San Francisco. The pesto sauce was just okay. If we order the gnocchi again, we'd likely try it with a tomato-based sauce instead. Overall Value - 4/5 This restaurant offers excellent value, particularly for pasta lovers. The quality of the house-made pasta alone makes it worth a visit, and there are still several dishes on the menu we're eager to try. We're already looking forward to returning and exploring more of what the kitchen has to offer.
