I decided to order the scone, which he told me was a lemon scone, even though I told him that the white icing had speckles on it, similar to vanilla bean. He affirmed in a snotty way, "It's lemon." After I received the scone and took a bite, I knew that I was right. I asked for a refund in which he insisted that what I had was a lemon. I told him how it didn't taste like lemon but vanilla bean. He insisted again. Yes, we were doing this. He lamented that his bakery person told him that it was lemon. Hey, if your bakery person tells you lemon, it's not on me. He gave me the refund. The latte I received was supposed to be a pistachio latte, not a pistachio latte taste at all. I wasn't sure what it was.

There were many people from all over town and our little area here in New Longview. My wife and I live is Kessler Ridge, so we drove less than five minutes to get to the mansion. We have been on the grounds many times before, but this was the first time we were able to visit the interior of the house. It is impressive and fun. There were lots of little pop-up shops set up inside the mansion, all on the main floor and then in a tent that extended from a sunporch on the back of the house. That was by far the biggest area to shop. The rest of the little pop-up areas were small and cozy inside the house. The staff was lovely and serving drinks, wine and food. We only had one glass of wine so we could drive home safely. We loved walking around the house, which everyone who attended was allowed to do with no drama and no supervision. Everyone I saw was super respectful of the property. Everyone we encountered was kind. It was a lovely evening. I hope they do it again next year so we can go.

Oh my goodness ... she can create any beer bottle you can come up with. GENIUS. This was originally going to be the grooms cake, but when we downsized our wedding so-to-speak, I couldn't NOT have this cake ... I ended up getting it for the bridal shower - SERIOUSLY! Great service and delivery. We froze the top for our first anniversary and it was still incredible. We recently purchased another cake for my graduation. It was in the shape of two books stacked on top of each other. We chose the book covers and received an exact copy of what we wanted. The pricing is reasonable but they don't accept credit cards.

I was able to visit 5 of the 7 participating studios / galleries with The EGG being my first stop and longest stay. Four artists were showcasing their talent; including Margarita Freidman- a powerful arts activist and promoter in the city, besides being a portrait artist in her own right. I purchased a colored pencil drawing piece from artist Sheila Rekdal, her "Upcycled" pieces were also very captivating. There was also live music and Crane Beer samples during my 45 minute stay before heading on to the next gallery. I may not live in the neighborhood, but I will attend any arts event sponsored by The EGG and its various galleries under the NE Arts umbrella. Community engagement and collaboration at its best!
