I also asked if the information on their weight ticket would be sufficient to satisfy the DMV requirements for vehicle weight. After receiving the "no problem" reply, I made the half hour drive over to their Lindenhurst facility to get the car weighed. I drove onto their scale, paid the requested ten-dollar fee, and received the weight ticket. This print-out contained the indicated weight, with no information linking the weight to either the vehicle or the driver (i.e., VIN number, license, vehicle type, etc.) In addition, the printer used for this was apparently in need of a new ink cartridge, as the weight reading was barely visible. When I presented the Gershow print-out to the DMV, it was immediately rejected. When I related to them the response from Gershow that their document was all that was needed, they replied "Gershow should know better." In the end, although the indicated weight on the form was 18 lb less than what I had presented to DMV as vehicle weight, my claim was rejected, and my trip to this recycling facility was a waste of time.

Jim Roy from Outboard Barn, Inc. falls into the same category. You need some work to be done on your boat, you agree on the price, pay ( of course in cash, none of these guys want to pay taxes), you come back to pick up your boat and the boat still has the same problems and on top of that, the owner of Outboard Barn argues with you and wants more money. Now the job is twice the amount of money originally agreed on and, of course, you were never provided you with any written contract or estimate prior to working on the boat. This is always the way with this kind of people, no respect or common courtesy- take it or leave it.
