Dropped 20k over 10 years with Sk. They are a brick and mortar store and they are there to help. They are well stocked and have a variety of good parts. The guys are trust worthy. Kevin rebuilt my motor. Was it cheap? No. Was I happy, Yes. Currently running 21lbs of boost and the long block has been perfect 2 seasons and 12k hard miles. Where they excel is that they offer a lot of custom parts you can get locally, try doing that online. NPT AN fittings, Stainless, ARP fasteners they have a big selection that are better than any others I know. These are the reasons I shop there. To the people writing and reading the bad reviews: Are all the counter help experts...no. Don't expect to talk to knowledgeable counter guys to help you with your $8 part. IF you absolutely need experience you will have to sit and wait to talk to someone like everybody else. This is a business and it would be impossible to staff the front room with older guys who are experienced in your 383 stroker build you read online. 2nd Many guys have unrealistic expectations, No the motor shop can 't turn your build around in 4 weeks. After entering the store every one that worked there totally ignored me. After 30 minuets I had to ask for help even tho every one of the workers were congregated in front of the counter doing absolutely nothing, " THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS" especially when It comes to treating African Americans ( or people of color ) With respect courtesy. Could definitely feel the " you and your $$$" are not welcomed here. So sad but true, I spoke to other friends about their experience with that store and they said the same. Came here in a pinch to purchase Amsoil fluids for one of my vehicles. The pricing reflects what a brick and mortar store would charge for the fluids, but they had everything I needed and the staff were patient with me as I asked questions about the differences in Amsoil's offerings. Sure, you could order what you need online, but when you need parts the same day, specialty shops like S-K come through! read more

I discovered SK Speed through the Ls1tech forums. I figured I'd support one of the sponsors when doing my engine swap. I ordered an intake manifold, MSD ignition and an Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator on a Sunday night at about midnight. I received an automated email stating that my order had been received and that I would receive a tracking number when the order shipped. Monday came and went and by Tuesday morning still no tracking number so I called SK speed and cancelled the order. They were very polite on the phone and reversing the credit card charges was very fast. I called Jegs placed the same order and should get my parts Friday, Saturday at the latest. I know some people would call this an overreaction but if I don't get my parts I don't get to play with my project car on the weekend. On a side note the price difference was 2$ more are Jegs. read more

I really wish I could give zero stars but I'll let you decide. The first thing I noticed was that I was being totally ignored, when I saw the store staffed with "kids" I knew why. Also no one is going to tell me a 20yr. old is going to have any life experience with cars or especially with 1970's cars but all I needed was an oil filter so what could go wrong? After giving my year, make and model twice to this guy he hands me 2 filters and I split. Nice right? No! After installing my new filter behind 6 quarts of 20w50 vr1 I start her up and... ALL OF THE OIL IS ON MY DRIVEWAY. Now if that's not bad enough I don't have another vehicle, oil filter or oil to finish the job or clean up. I push the car back and proceed my 2 hour clean up job. Used 10 micro fiber rags and 4 cans of gunk. Now I need to get to Advance Auto Parts so I can do the oil change all over again. TAXI!! $30 later, cost of new oil and filter plus more gunk and rags I'm up to over $100. SK's reply was "sorry, that was the wrong filter" duh jackass. His best offer was to replace the oil filters with the right ones. Like he wasn't going to and that was a huge favor? I asked for 6 free quarts and he said "ah, I sell you 6 quarts for $4.50 a quart". Whatever fool, Advance Auto Parts has them for $4.99. He said their regular price is $7.50. Shows you right there what a rip off they are. I called the owner after this for 2 weeks and it was never resolved, I was blown off. So... This is my only retaliation. If you want shitty service by kids who don't know squat, and a owner who will ignore dissatisfied customers go to SK SPEED. read more

Terrible experience I purchased headers from them which they told me were pressure tested to guarantee no leaks, well I paid $200 to have them installed only to find out...yup you guessed it there was a leak in the headers when I asked them to replace it they said no and to call the manufacturer myself and they'll take care of the problem asap....well that was 4 days ago and to be honest I'm in worst shape now than I was then I have to pay my mechanic to now put my manifolds back on. My mechanic feels so bad for the way SK Speed has been treating me he's doing the switch for half price. Making my loss a total of $300.00. When I asked SK Speed what they were going to do about it they said "nothing ask the manufacturer to help". SK Speed doesn't care about its customers at all and truly doesn't want to take any responsibility for the items they sell they would rather brush you off than deal with it. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SELLER, BUYER BEWARE!!! I will never shop there again read more
