Whom I would assume was the owner of this store was so awful and dismissive. For reference I am a young lady and showed up in workout clothes (I had just came from a class). I operate an online vintage designer boutique and had some inventory I didn't turn over that I originally brought to Plato's Closet. l I realized that they are not like the shops in the city and mostly take fast fashion so I was so excited to see Act II only a few miles away. I walked in with my bag of clothes and the owner informed me that she was by appointment only which is fine, I asked to make an appointment. She said she would take a look since I was there. I let her know that not all of the clothes in the bag would be for her but she should take a look as I had some great stuff. She proceeded to pull 2 things out of my bag like they had cooties and exclaimed I DONT TAKE STUFF LIKE THIS I CANT LOOK AT THIS IF THEY WERE FOLDED OR ON HANGERS. I explained to her like I said I was at Plato's so that is how they were put back in the bag. I want to add here the entire corner of her store by the window was full of clothes in bags on the floor. She proceeded to refuse to look through the rest of my items after I told her I had a bunch of Theory, Tanya Taylor, and Frame Jeans. So she wouldn't give me an appointment but wouldn't look at my things as is? I believe she had an idea about me the second I walked into the store based on my appearance. I wasn't aware I would be meeting the queen. I have been working in luxury fashion for the past 6 years and am a collector of vintage designer items and would have been happy to be a customer and possibly a frequent consigner to this store if the owner did not develop such a rude preconceived notion. Although I did not feel inclined to look around judging by the yelp photos of the inside it looks to be a lot of Michael Kors outlet and shoes I can get a better price on at Marshall's so she may have not known Max Mara or Alberta Ferretti of it hit her in the face anyway! read more

Wow ! The clothes are so well organized and exquisite. Patrice is having a fantastic 50% off sale, so I had to stop by and see what she has. I've been here many time and got some beautiful clothes. This store features name brands, European brands, some unknown designers but one thing I can say is that a lot of the clothes are "show-stoppers". Act II Consignment was my go to place for little things that you don't want to spend an arm and a leg for. I was looking for a belt, and I found a wonderful black leather studded belt that was absolutely stunning. Another visit I was looking for a black shawl for a wedding. I discovered a gorgeous Kenneth Cole crushed velvet shawl at Act II. The store is so well organized and you can find many items that still have the original tags. I don't get to visit often as I moved a few years ago, but whenever I am in the area, I always try to take a few minutes to stop in at Act II Consignment before I get to my planned destination. read more

Long Island does not have enough consignment shops. But I am SO GLAD for Act II!!! Patrice, the owner, is one of my favorite people. I had gone in on a whim after driving past and having been someone who had worked in consignment boutiques in Los Angeles her shop does not disappoint. I have found the most beautiful pieces in there. Don't get it twisted it is NOT a thrift store. There is a huge difference. Thrift stores are fun for trash picking, consignment boutiques like Patrice's place are fabulous, chic, and full of beautiful pieces at a fraction of the price for some of the biggest names in designers in excellent condition and also having the ready-to-wear looks for everyday fashion. I am totally obsessed and I go in every week now sometimes twice a week because you can literally always find something new and you also could miss something that's how fast of a turn around her pieces have. I hate giving up "my spot" but I would be doing a disservice to the community by not sharing this gem. Handbags, sunglasses, jewelry (both high end costume and fine jewelry), shoes, clothing...she's literally got it all. I would give 0 stars if I could. Just went in and found some lovely desks to purchase for my business. Had corresponded on messenger so drove all the way down here from across town. After nearly 15 mins of waiting at the end of the counter to at least have one of the two ladies behind the counter say "I'll be right with you" or even ask what was needed I remained patient. One lady was running the register and the other was taking things off the hangers for the same customer being checked out. I personally don't understand the need for that when another customer is being ignored. I recently threw my back out so I waited close the desks so I didn't have to go stand in line but kept waiting patiently plus I had my 4 year old with me. Finally she walked past me and still hadn't even said anything. So I said "we'll I guess they don't care about even acknowledging customers" The one lady walked past me and said "we'll it depend what you need" and kept walking so when the lady running the register was finished with that last customer I told her I wanted to buy both desks but I don't appreciate how rude the other lady just was. That was a $100 sale. The First Lady told me that's fine she doesn't want my business so I left. That's fine. Both my husband are in sales and absolutely would NEVER treat someone willing to spend their money like that. I wasn't rude I just said that I was really off put by their lack of customer service skills. And she just got aggressively rude. So peace out. Do not spend your money here. read more

I've been to Act ll Consignments several times over the last two years. Every time I go in, I find some little treasure that I can't bear to leave on the rack. The quality and condition of their shoes and clothing is exceptional (very often with tags still on) and the prices are amazing. She also has beautiful handbags! Why would you waste your money at the mall when you could score such a deal here?! But beyond the designer finds and unique vintage pieces, the shop owner, Patrice, couldn't be more lovely. She's helpful, honest (meaning she's not going to tell you something looks great on you when I doesn't ) and allows you to browse without feeling pressured to buy. Don't go to this place, don't waste your precious time :) very mean and Ungrateful lady, brought mine beautiful clothes she was very picky and made me feel I was wasting her time. Clothes there look horrible, if you have designer stuff sell it in fashion file or websites like that, that will give you money right away not wait a month or more if she sells then she gives you half money of what she made, who knows she may lie to you. I love Act ll Consignment Boutique! I've been a customer for years. I stop by every few weeks as inventory turns over rapidly and there are always great new finds. I was surprised to see a handful of bad reviews until I noticed that most were from sellers unhappy that the owner did not accept their items. The owners selectivity is exactly why customers like me frequent the store. I have purchased many like new (often with no signs of use) designer items at exceptional prices. A few of my favorite finds include; handbags by Fendi, Ferragamo and Burberry, boots by Vince, pumps by Louboutin and Prada, plus numerous unique pieces of costume jewelry. I had a very negative experience at Act II Consignment Shop. I went in to find out the process for putting up an item ot 2 for consignment. When I asked the shop owner, as I m new to the process, I simply asked" How does this work? I'm sure you must make a commision?" Her response was humiliating.This was her reply, and quite loud. "I get 50%.." I was quick to respond" Well that doesn't work for me, although of course I'm sure you would get commision." I realised my quick response might have been perceived as rude, and was trying to explain, that while , I completely understood her need for a commision, this arrangement was not going to meet my goal, of putting an item up for sale and receiving an amount for the item that met my needs. She then repeated her first response, now loudly " I can't believe you would say that to me! Do you want to pay $3000.00 dollars in rent for this shop!? I was so taken aback by this reproof I said " No ,I was trying to explain that you should receive commision." She continued to say in voice loud enough for the entire shop, which at that moment, was occupied by one other customer. I really can't believe that you would say "Of curse I need to receive a commision, do you want to pay he $3000.00 rent on this shop?!. At this point i felt that she was no longer behaving within the scope of a shop proprietor. We all have bad days, and I usually try to give retailers the benefit of the doubt. I walked out without saying a word, So if you have a garment, pair of shoe's, jewelry, or any other item you would like to sell. I had my clothing and jewelry with this shop. My stuff was stolen and the owner expects me to eat the loss. I worked with her for many years and she is rude as Ellyn S. posted her review. The owner is unprofessional and I had to take back my merchandise as she told me I hardly had anything left in her store to sell when in FACT I had 26 plus items still in her store. Thank God I saved my invoices, otherwise I would of been screwed like when last year my juicy, coach sunglasses went missing and a pair of coach shoes were stolen. I had to accept the loss as she stated! Who does that??? I went last week to pick up all my merchandise that she stated I had nothing there but had over 26 items and she has the attitude as if I was in the wrong. I had a very bad experience. I left my designer pocketbook and I was 1 day late in picking it up (due to the flu) and she wouldn't give me my unsold bag back. She was rude and not nice to customers unless you are purchasing something. I would never go back and I would recommend you sell your designer clothing, pocketbooks and shoes on eBay. I stumbled into this amazing consignment store by accident 10 years ago. I've been obsessed ever since. I would never have been able to buy a "LOUIS" (which I now know is worth every penny), Armani shoes, those juicy track suits that were in style five years ago, my AG jeans, my Prada wallet (that my husband went in and got for me after I couldn't stop talking about it) or anything else that is at least a weeks pay. The owner knows her stuff. She has impeccable taste and something for everyone. When my 13 yr old daughter begged for a MICHAEL Kors bag to use for school (what???) I told her only if Act 2 has one. Of course, it was there. LOVE THIS STORE. There is a reason it's has been there so long when other consignment stores can't make it. read more

Had a very bad experience with the owner. She was on the phone doing personal business while two of her customers stood waiting while she ignored us to continue with her call. I asked her to put the call on hold and help us. She was annoyed and said it was important. She was negotiating with her contractor about a proposal for I believe her new store. Really. I recently made a significant purchase and also had some things in consignment with her. When I asked her if I sold anything, she snapped and said "I can't do that now, if you sold anything I would receive a check at the end of the month."Another words please don't bother me I need to get back to my call. I am shocked that she is still in business and I will never shop in her store again. I wanted to take my things but decided she is not worth arguing with.
