The only reason this place stays in business is because people who shop here shop here blindly. Aaaaand I was one of those! First off, she is a helicopter store owner. Impossible to shop without her over your shoulder or asking for sizes or telling you what sizes you need. Also, in RE: to a previous review, having a plus size section in your store doesn't give you a hall pass in accommodations- Congratulations, welcome to the world of retail, nice for you to open your eyes. Anyways, I bought an extremely overpriced Junkfood brand Billy Joel band tee that I could have bought at Target. And then here comes my biggest mistake, the BIGGEST rip off. I bought boots there and I later realized how god awful uncomfortable they were and that they aren't "boutique" quality by any means. I looked up the brand and "EMMSHU x COOLWAY" I can only seem to find them on Amazon or EBay or some obscure website overseas. $47.99 on EBay (not on sale), I paid $195 in store. The pricing for these boots are barely a THIRD of what she charged me in the store. Look up her off brand names before buying. You can find better pricing. Like, I understand the Junkfood tee, but the boots... REALLY!!! like you are milking it!!!! I feel *r i p p e d o f f* I see a testament from a "10 yr customer" who "understands" all these reviews And as far as keeping a "vibe of the store"... a boutique store owner in 2023 in the middle of Northport Village who takes random breaks with random store hours? Please. The amount of times I've tried to go there and it was closed randomly ...I stopped trying to go. There is no maintenance of vibes in this place and I don't know how it has stayed in business for this long. I'm not too sure why the negative reviews saying she's rude & that she's rude to children bc she's always so friendly to not just myself but my 7 year old son who comes in with me. Just had the most amazing experience at Veronica Rayne. Her clothes are fantastic and reasonably price. BUT EVEN BETTER THAN THAT, the staff is absolutely lovely. Very helpful and beyond honest. They even told me that a sweater I like will be going on sale next week. But, most impressive, was how they handled a couple of teens that wandered in while we were there. They were clearly not interested in buying anything, but were as demanding as the most high-value customers. The children demanded, demanded, demanded, but the staff kept smiling. SHOP HERE IF YOU WANT TO BE SPOKEN TO RUDELY. Just walked in with my 2 year old daughter & 82 year old grandmother, looking for my mother. Immediately said (rudely) nobody is in here if you are looking for someone. I said that's fine, I'm going to look around. My grandmother was watching my daughter look in the mirror, & HOLDING HER HAND when she started to jump bc she got excited seeing herself in the mirror. The lady starts yelling at her NO NO NO, you're going to break my mirror. She responded so quickly, so she was clearly watching my daughter like a hawk. There is NO reason for her to yell at my TWO YEAR OLD daughter. I will ask her to stop jumping if it's a problem. She clearly knew I was pissed at her yelling at her and decided to say "well you don't want her getting hurt by the mirror". No, I don't but you weren't concerned with that you were concerned with your mirror breaking, but I noticed that your mirror was BOLTED To the floor, so were you really? Or did you just not want a child in your store. But now from reading her other reviews it seems like it's a trend with this owner. Terrible business practice. I really want to like this store. I really do, but every time I go in the women who works there seems drunk or on drugs. She follows me around like I am going to shop lift or something, and tells me things "like that will not work on you" or just throws things at me and says "try this". It's just too stressful. I have been shopping at Veronica Rayne for over 9 years. I can't say enough about the owner Carlene and her staff. This boutique is the only place I shop and anytime I wear a piece from her store I always get compliments. Carlene is amazing she is like having a personal shopper. She knows my style and pulls pieces for me to try on and she is always spot on it what she chooses for me. I will never forget how kind Carlene was to me when I was in the hospital on bed rest for 9 weeks with my 4 th child. Carlene sent me pics of clothes she new I would love wanting to cheer to me up. She sent the clothes with my husband to the hospital so I could have something nice to wear coming home with our baby. These were a gift from Carlene which really warmed my heart. It was really upsetting to walk into this establishment in Northport village to witness the owner blatantly insult my friend. My friend picked a romper off the rack and wanted to try it on. The owner made a comment that it runs small and then proceeded to follow my friend into the dressing room to tell her to be careful not to rip it and that maybe she should choose another piece of clothing. Instead of "fat shaming" your customers, why not encourage them to purchase something? I mean, isn't that the point of owning a small business? To make money? If you're so worried about a piece of clothing ripping, maybe you're in the wrong business. Words hurt. You don't know what someone is going through.
