In the reply, the company (or Angel) continues to not only blame the employees for the situation but to completely disregard that she manipulated the employees to do something illegal in favor of the employer. Here is exactly what happened: We were provided options for a very low-cost insurance and a much higher cost one and asked to "vote" (shouldn't the company be responsible to choose the right one for the employees). We were told that the difference is the amount of doctors available but assured by Angel that we will still have doctors available near where we each lived knowing full well how far some of us lived from the office. The caveat was that in order to get the $5 plan, we had to lie and say that we lived at our work address because of a technicality with the filing. She told us, and there were almost 10 people in the room who can vouch for this, "if they [the law?] ask about it, we will just say there are dorms at the office". This is a direct quote and I and everyone else in the room would testify to this in a courtroom. We were told that if we did this, we would walk away with an affordable plan and again reassured that we will still have some doctors available where we lived, albeit less options. At this time, someone in the room asked if we were eligible for ACA, and Angel said no due to employment status and employer insurance availability. Angel speaks very kindly and confidently, so we trusted her. She hand-wrote on scratch paper that we agree to change our address from what we put on our applications to the business address. This very professional document is attached. When our cards arrived (at our owner's home, not the employees), we immediately learned unfortunately through an employee with an urgent health matter, that there were NO doctors, urgent cares or hospitals anywhere near where any of us lived in San Bernardino and Riverside counties despite Angel telling us there would be. The employee had to drive into LA county for urgent care. As it turned out, the plan was so affordable because it ONLY covered employees who reside in LA county, therefore doctors were only available in LA county. Angel knew this and knowingly lied to us repeatedly. God forbid something should happen on weekends or evenings when the employee was home, or even just an urgent care or regular routine doctor visit. Angel presented an affordable option to our employer that did not provide coverage for all employees and obviously did not make that clear to the employer nor the employees. An in fact, under this plan, the employees not living in the coverage area WOULD be eligible for ACA - another lie. I emailed Angel later about this and she did not reply. Of course the employer jumped at this plan because it's the most affordable to them, but Angel should have NEVER even offered it without making clear the reality and challenge of it. And what's worse, she absolutely manipulated and lied to the employees multiple times to get them to sign on to it. If she wasn't going to be transparent and helpful, she should have NEVER presented one that doesn't cover all employees, let alone lie to their faces AND manipulate them into lying about their residences. She should be ashamed to have completely disregarded the health and well-being of the employees for her client.

I couldn't be more thankful for all of the help I received from this company. I was directed to speak to Justina via email, who even though was away from the office for the holidays was quick to get back to me. Ms. Barillas was completely unhelpful in helping me figure out why exactly (it was not renewed after their inspection stated a problem with some bushes that were not trimmed - but it did not even hint at which bushes!), or if there was a way to find out what bushes they wanted trimmed and if this was something I could appeal. I keep my property up to fire code for brush clearance, and even had my brush clearance guy come out to help me figure out what they were talking about. We found one tree with a sprout coming from the trunk, but that was it. She told me she would find out but never got back to me. When I emailed she did not email me back. When I called her, she said I could appeal, but had not found out if I could speak with the inspector to see which bushes he was talking about. I am guessing Allstate just wanted to get rid of my policy (due to fire risk in CA), but it took a few weeks for me to wise up about that and she was neither honest nor reliable about following up. I had to scramble but did find other insurance and cancelled ALL my policies with Allstate, which I probably wouldn't have done if she'd been helpful at all.
