Out of nowhere my computer was dead. It would not power up, no clicks, no lights, nothing. I…read moretried a couple things but with my limited knowledge I was in over my head. I searched multiple ratings and found CCW Technology rated very well and looked to be affordable and trustworthy. I brought my computer in and met with Allen and Angie. Allen grabbed some testing equipment and checked for a few common problems to see if he could get me up and running while I waited. Allen found and showed me a small resistor/chip that blew on my motherboard. I left my computer with CCW and they took care of everything. CCW got my replacement motherboard and had me back up and running like nothing happened. The price was very affordable and the turnaround time was quicker than expected. I also appreciated that CCW sent me update emails, letting me know when the new part arrived and the status of the repair. If I should have any other problems CCW will be my fist call.

Since the turn around time and the inconvenience was stupid, I decided to shop around. Fortunately I found Allen's company. He really is local and he is highly capable! Even in this crazy time of social distancing, he was able to arrange to evaluate the drive the same day that I called him. The other company had given me a "ball park" estimate of $500.00 to $1650.00 and a turn around time of 4-6 weeks. Allen's estimate was $134.00! Which also included him "cloning" my data on to an SSD that I provided to him. The best part was that he was able to finish the repair the next day. My computer now works fine and boots faster than when it was brand new! I very much recommenced this company for all your data recovery needs! So what about Secure Data? They followed up with me today to see if I was still interested, and when I told their rep my story, she proceeded to disparage Allen's company, saying that I was lucky that it was such a simple fix because if he had had to open the drive he would have ruined it. The PC consultant there from Software & More, Jerry, who helped build us our first custom desktop back in the early 2000s started his own company in Cottonwood Heights called REVO Technologies when S&M went out of business. We purchased our second gaming/workstation "Stryker" desktop from him eight years ago...AND a 17" "Falcon" gaming desktop as well for my personal use. Despite a few glitches/bugs here and there, both of these last two PCs have been performing admirably...as we've continued to patronize REVO for upgrades, repair, and tuning. The most recent purchase last week was for my wife's "Stryker" desktop which needed some Win10 tweaks due to some mistakes I made last spring with User Account Control and administrative privileges... oops. I dropped the desktop off with Chris - the repair tech - on Monday last week and by late afternoon he had it finished, updated, cleaned, and working like a top! I paid for the diagnostics/repair ($70) and the tuning/cleaning service ($70) which eliminated all of the nasty dust that had collected on the inside of the tower case. Yuk...but money well spent! We got it back home and the new Canon MF753Cdw color Laserjet All-in-One printer drivers installed perfectly. My wife is back in business! Woo-hoo. As in the past, excellent service from Jerry, Chris, and the pros at REVO. Well done, and again Five Stars for responsive and accurate service.
