When I called I spoke with Cynthia Gee who was very informative, we set a time and date for a quote , they arrived on time explained everything that would need to be done and gave me the quote. Cynthia called to inform me of the process, when the doors would come and when the installation would be. I received a calll earlier than expected informing me that they had the doors and all materials needed to proceed so we set the schedule and they were on time ,did an excellent job of installing and explaining the operation of the doors and helped me set up the link to my cell phone. Professional, expedient, and well-priced. I hired Action Door Service through Costco's Amarr garage door service. They were very prompt in establishing contact and scheduling the site inspection and installation. The pricing was also very transparent, but that was determined by Costco. The man who conducted the site inspection was plenty knowledgeable and helped me decide exactly which features of the door and motor were best for the garage, which still had its original 1980s door. The guy who performed the installation was a one-man army. All on his own, he removed an old, heavy, solid-wood door, along with its motor and springs. He installed the new door, motor, and spring, as well as very carefully placed weather gapping and wiring. He even meticulously tuned the motion detector, lock, and door close distance. Every price of the old equipment was hauled immediately. Basically, in just a few hours, there was a seamless, one-to-one swap of the entire garage door system. Since then, I basically have never needed to give the thing a second thought. It just works perfectly, day after day. That's much, much more than I could say of the old door. Excellent in every way imaginable!! My husband and I purchased our garage door through Lowe's earlier this month. We initially thought it was going to take about a month to complete the entire process but it ended up only taking a few weeks start to finish. Action Door Service was SO amazing and actually a delight to deal with; they kept us updated along the way, VERY friendly over the phone and in person and easy/flexible scheduling. I received a courtesy call yesterday (day of installation) about half an hour prior to the mechanic coming out; the woman (I'm sorry I forgot her name) was extremely friendly and even notified me that our door had be upgraded at no cost to us due to the stock at hand (BONUS!!) - our original purchase was just a standard metal door...we were upgraded to an insulated door; which, may not sound like a huge deal, but in my opinion, it's nicer looking from both sides and heavier, which makes the door quieter when opening and closing. We wouldn't have known the difference if we ended up with the door we purchased but my husband and I are happy and really impressed with the upgraded door; we'll never be able to go back, haha. Ricky came out yesterday to install our new door all by himself. He arrived on time and was super friendly and professional. He notified me of what he was going to do and said it would take him about three hours to complete and I left him to do his work. This is the Sacramento representative for Amarr Door system which works through Costco to finance the door. The experience with this company was confusing and disorganized. First I got an email telling me about the company which included that they didn't do any appointments after four or weekend. When someone called to set up an appointment to come out, they'd rate Costco would require all new parts and would be part of door and installation. The person who called send someone instead and they stated the item was all upgrade. My wife told the person we wanted to do the door from Costco as we did our HVAC through their financing. Took several days to get a bid. The bid stated parts were upgrade and did include a good morning. I accepted the bid. When I tried to get the paper work needed to get the credit from Costco I was told I had to use the credit card from Costco. I contacted Costco who said that the company needed to walk me through the process and give them information so they could process the credit request and payment. The Secretary refused stating the they only accept Costco Visa or I could use a Mastercard to get the Costco discount. I turned it down stating that was not the steps we took with Sierra Pacific who walked us them rough steps and spoke with Costco to get the necessary credit. Cynthia the Secretary told me I didn't understand the program and related herself. I told I had to go. I later received an email from telling me that she wish She could had a rationale conversation. I am not sure how as she was saying the same thing: a Costco credit card or Mastercard. I advise you to be cautious if considering using this company with Costco. read more

I was really impressed at first. I was happy to give my business to a small business owner. The problems started when I didn't receive the quote after the inspection. I later learned that the quote had been emailed to the wrong email address. After I accepted the quote they informed me that the manufacturer had raised their prices a day before so they were adjusting their prices. And they informed me the Costco shop card promotion had expired. I was disappointed because this was a Costco dealer and I thought I would be dealing with a company that valued customer service. Displeased, I called Easy Lift Door Company in Sacramento. They quoted me over the phone and the price was almost $600 less than Action's price. I went through Costco to replace my garage door and opener, and Costco contracts via Action. I can't say whether their prices are high or low as I did not comparison shop, which might be stupid but I felt like going through Costco would be a safe bet. The customer service gal who responded to my inquiry was very helpful and answered question upon question. They sent an estimator to measure and give the exact quote. He was also very helpful and friendly. He came on a bad day and I was kind of freaking out about the expense but he was really kind about that. He recommended a more expensive door than I originally though I would order, but I went with his recommendation and I'm really glad I did. Totally worth the extra money. (I got an isulated door with a hard back.) It took a while to get my door but communication was good and it actually came a bit earlier than I expected it. The installer did a nice, clean job, and everything looks and works great. I can't believe how much nicer my garage looks. Overall it was a really good experience. read more

Had a my garage door spring break due to a worn out carriage on the track over the 4th of July weekend. If you've ever tried to lift a garage door without the counter-balance spring you know it's darn near impossible. I called Action Door Service Monday morning and they called me back with a 2-4pm window. Todd showed up early, no problem with that! He came in, diagnosed the problem, swapped out the spring while his helper Fritz ran the cables up one of the sides. Todd then replaced the carriage, and readjusted the speed at which the door closed. He said that it was bottoming out too much, probably what caused the premature wear. He also identified that it bad bowing the track when the door closed. Overall, they were quick and reasonable, certainly less than I was expecting to pay. Highly recommended if you need a repair. And Todd has got a great attitude and personality. read more
