He wasn't sure they had a comic series I was looking for in stock. He looked it up on the computer and went down to the basement to get me the issue I was looking for. I also enjoyed the zine wall as this allowed me to browse local comic artist creations that you would not usually find. I wish I lived closer to this shop. No AC as it's a super old building I think from the 1800s one of the last commercial storefronts. Has such charm. Very close to glen park. Can get ice cream then walk in the park to see the waterfall.

The sales team is very shady with their tactics. I wanted to buy a certain item. I asked them how…read moremany they had and they said 1 only. I bought the item and a day or two later they list another one at a higher price and won't honor the old price. Then I buy the item and a day or two later list another raising the price again. They claimed to only have 1 yet in the past 30 days I've ordered 7 of them and there's currently another one listed on their website. Of course they raised the price 10% after waiting 25 hours to post it on the site. And of course they can't price match it because it's not within 24 hours. (The fact that they took more than 24 hours to post it on their site doesn't matter) My account rep said they'd price match a price within the last 24 hours. They take 25-26 hours to post another item in stock to get around that price matching. Very sketchy and slimy sales team. Reflects poorly on the owners and the company as a whole. I gave them 2 stars simply because the shipping has been quick.

I came across this store from boyfriend who is in the military and currently stationed in Buffalo. As an anniversary gift he was on the hunt for issue #300 of the amazing Spider-Man. I've been trying for years to get a hold of this comic but could never find it at a reasonable price nor in good condition. My boyfriend found Empire Comics and talked with the store owners. They went above and beyond to help him! Not only did they managed to get a hold of the comic but were able to get one that was highly graded! I was in disbelief when I saw it and had to see this place for myself! I'm from CA and during my visit to see my boyfriend during the holidays, I went in to the store. I was welcomed by the store owners who were incredibly friendly and down to earth. They are fluent in all marvel and some anime. The store has a ton of good finds but if your looking for something specific they will go above and beyond to help you find it. As a comic collector and marvel nerd this means the world to me. I strongly value a business that goes above and beyond for their customers. After choosing a handful of comics, the store owners were kind enough to throw in a free comic and because I told them of my love for Spider-Man, they also threw in a free poster. But the best part was, free Christmas cookies were thrown in too! I had such a blast the entire time I was there. I really appreciate that they were so welcoming unlike other comic book stores who are often after your money or feel superior in their knowledge and like to belittle their customers. I was caught up on my regular comic books but found a good stack of other ones I had been meaning…read moreto check out. We spent about twenty minutes choosing books and went to cash out. Went to hand over my card and without missing a beat in his phone conversation the guy says "no plastic". I'm thinking "oh wow okay contactless pay only is intense but i totally get it" and pull up my Apple pay. Still on the phone: no. Cash only. Us: wait. Really? Okay uh do you have an atm Still on phone: no. Whoever he was on the phone said something along the lines of: "you really have to start taking them" because he said "nope. Not doing it. Cash only" He wasn't wearing a mask but he was also on the phone the whole entire time so I didn't even notice until we were like "uh okay. Well bye" If you are going to only take cash and don't have an atm at least put a sign on your door saying "cash only". Most people will see it, head over to an atm, and come back to buy something. If it was ten years ago it wouldn't be a thing, but I don't think I have had cash on me in at least two years.

He keeps the store well stocked with a good variety. It's a smallish space but crammed with good stuff. Spend some time and look at all he has to offer.....ask if you don't see what you want....George will be happy to help.
