He took my information and the gun seller information and said he would take care of it. He certainly did! I heard back from the gun company that he reached out right away (same day, within the hour!) and my gun was on its way! After a couple days of wondering, I had called to see what the process was- do they call me when it arrives? He said yes, they would call me. I got a call the next day so I went in to complete the background check. He knew exactly who I was when I arrived. I filled out the background check paperwork and provided my license. He said I could wait for it to clear- it could take five min. He offered to let me look at my gun while I waited. I opted to come back the next day. The next day, I stopped by and they said I passed my background check. I inspected my item, paid the $20 fee, and took it home. Such an easy process. On a sidenote, I had been waiting for academy sports to forward their FFL to the company I bought the gun from, who sent their FFL to Academy three times. I had called Academy and emailed them multiple times to figure out what was going on in the process. This was two weeks of waiting to get my gun. Ultimately, don't use academy sports. Even during coronavirus, when stores are not busy, they can't seem to get their act together. This includes their administrative folks at the call center. Their fee is $45. So don't waste your time, use these guys instead. The store is full of strange toys- like Disney stuff and comics and figurines. So if you're into that, you might find a gem. Some of their memorabilia is really old... there could be a rare find inside.

Real Street Tactical (RST), Sanford is a refreshing addition. Fairly new, they offer high quality select merchandise with an eye on significant expansion. The store is clean, airy, and very organized. They offer a quiet sitting area for classes or to talk with customers about wants, needs, or answer questions without being distracted by others in the store. The sales people are what makes this business great. Clay assisted me several times via email before I ever went to the store. I never asked what his background was but it was quick to tell he had a lot more experience in areas I've not had with training, gear and equipment of the 'modern age' . I saw the other guys working with other customers and saw the same intent focus used for them. If you are serious about your gear and want experienced consultants to help you I recommend you step foot in this place.

BAT (Eric the owner) immediately responded by denying that I…read moreever contacted them in the first place (lies) and that I should have inspected the shotgun prior to purchasing it (disregarding the fact that I purchased it online and it was sent to my local FFL, so the purchase wasn't done in-person). We went back and forth on BBB to no avail. RTSP finally got in touch with someone (not Eric) from their organization, who would then send out the replacement sight. No manual was sent as they no longer provide them with their guns (smh that's a first)! Eric (owner) then had the audacity to make it seem like he had resolved the issue on BBB (after the sight was already sent out thanks to RTSP complaining to BAT's distributor sales rep). This took 7 weeks to get resolved. I stand my ground that BAT is not worth the aggrevation and that you should look at other makes for future purchases. They clearly try to not honor the "lifetime warranty" on their products by avoiding you altogether, and have ongoing quality control and customer service issues. You can find similar complaints on BBB (they have an "F" rating), their own social media pages (comments), and any gun forums in general that support this!

When I tried on a display shoe, a sales associate abruptly approached me and told me I was not allowed to try on display shoes because customers might later ask for discounts. His tone was rude and dismissive. When I asked for the a shoe in a different color and size, he refused, saying "you have already tried on that shoe and they are all the same." I requested a manager, but was told the manager was "in a meeting" and unavailable. Feeling disrespected, I left the store without making my purchase. I've shopped at Dick's for years, but this visit was extremely disappointing. I hope this location addresses the issue so other customers do not have the same experience.

I found this 'Groove Belt,' which is pretty much a game changer for me. It has a magnetic buckle that has two heavy duty hooks built in to keep it from coming undone unless you intend to unbuckle it, the belt is also 'one size fits most' so you can adjust it to almost any size waist. You can choose to leave the slack intact so that it infinitely adjustable for as long as you own the belt or you can cut some of the slack if its bothersome. The belt even stretches with you when you bend over to work so it never feels uncomfortable when keeping it somewhat taunt when my shirt is tucked in for the workplace; like I said, a complete game changer for me. We stopped in the Saturday after Thanksgiving and they still had a great deal on the belt. It normally costs $60 but was marked down to $39, I probably should have bought two of these things but I wanted to see how long it lasts in my work environment, only time will tell. Since we were there shopping, we noticed they had great deals going on for BCG training attire and all Magellan clothing. I purchased several pairs of BCG shorts and workout pants and one Magellan top at 50% off which was a great deal. Staff here have always been super friendly and helpful and the store is kept immaculate. I highly recommend stopping in to check them out if you're in the area.
