I guess I made the mistake of buying a used gun I paid a pretty good price though $450 the first time I shot it at jammed I brought it in they couldn't do anything with it and trying to get the gun unstuck they damaged it further sent it out to Smith Smith did nothing but in the meantime I wanted to trade it in for another gun that they were holding until the 30-day period when I got my gun back and went to trade it in they sold the other gun so not only does this company not have integrity their customer service stinks I will never buy another gun there again or even have my gun serviced there again beware read more

Dropped off a firearm on Tuesday to be sent out FFL to FFL (A $50 plus shipping paid service FFLs provide). Called multiple times during the week and was put on interminable holds due to "the lobby is full of customers right now" and "we're really busy right now with customers", like people calling in don't matter? Finally got ahold of a manager the next MONDAY (A full week later) after, again being told "we're really busy" and having to call back again.... and was told the item FINALLY shipped that morning (supposedly). They seem like nice guys, but I think the behind-the-scenes needs some work over there if many of these other reviews are to believed as well. That, or they need more staff. read more

Cam and the other guys quickly resolved an issue with my shotgun that allowed me to go shooting the next day. RJ is the nicest guy! This review comes late but it's well deserved! I've gone back three times and throughly enjoy his services. As a woman and a first time gun owner I figured I would be taken advantage of or spoken down to, but I was wrong. My experience was a good one. Prices ? Well you have to do your homework and you have to know what you want. I had a few list of guns I wanted to review but RJ was so knowledgeable, he suggested a gun that I never heard of or a feature I did not consider. The HK subcompact 9mm, it made for ambidextrous shooters aka or if your left handed. I'm ambidextrous when it come to shotguns, so it never occurred to me to purchase a German gun that offers a release mag on both sides. Thank goodness for RJ! I definitely spent more money than I should have that day but the investment was well worth it! I waited years and now looking back I should of gone with the bigger gun! Lol Every time I go to the range people ask is that an HK and where did I get it. I first visited The Armories while I was looking to purchase my first firearm. I wasn't exposed to firearms growing up, so my firearm knowledge was mostly limited to stuff I picked up from video games over the years. That being the case, I'm sure that it was very apparent that I wasn't experienced with what I was doing. But, I did know that I wanted a small, inexpensive firearm to start out with. I really just wanted to get comfortable handling a gun in general. The staff helped me choose a Ruger LCP, which I still enjoy shooting today. While it may be a pretty basic gun, it fit my needs at the time perfectly. In the years since my first visit, I've purchased a number of firearms and accessories from The Armories. I've also done a few FFL transfers through them as well. The thing that stands out for me the most throughout all of my visits is that the staff is genuinely happy to help you, even if you're just there to grab a single box of ammo or a $3 dollar cleaning brush. My background as a web developer doesn't really translate well when it comes to tinkering with firearms. I'm certain that I've come in with some incredibly dumb questions. The guys in the shop have always taken the time to explain things to me in a way where I feel more informed, even if it means taking something apart just to show me how it works. Normally I might point out a single staff member that went above and beyond, but it's honestly not fair because they've all been so helpful. So thanks to Eddie, Rob, Andrew, Owen, JD, Max, and whoever else's names I'm forgetting to mention. They all make The Armories way more than just a regular store. Let me take a moment to applaud these Patriots. Unlike other shops in this Genre they aren't raking it's patrons over the coals... We all know how fast 9mm is flying off the shelves and we all have been pretty upset that the days of 50 rounds of federal was $9.99 or cheaper at Walmart seem to be gone forever... Well that price may have sailed but these guys aren't asking $60.00 for that box. In fact they are the only shop in "Florida" that literally has kept the prices just a few $ over their cost. Some shops are so ridiculous they are at $1.50 or better per round. Rob O'Brien, Sales Manager, answered my call at The Armories in Oviedo and also didn't have the exact item in stock but took the time to question what my needs were and advised me on multiple solutions at the Oviedo store. Walked in not knowing what to expect but can tell who ever runs this place is strict with their employees by the greeting upon walking into the door. Observed the layout, while the guns are displayed in orderly fashion, the ground floor was cluttered but possibly for good reason as it creates a barrier between the door and the counters. Hearing the interaction between customers and the employees you can tell the employees have a lot of patience. Understandably, people want to talk face to face about everything guns or themselves or trying to decided if they should get anything else with their purchases. Some customers come in to joke around with the employees while resolving an issue or looking for something to go with a purchase (these people seem to be the regulars so there is a built relationship with the employees that seemed to upset management for the joking.) I came in ready to buy some guns but specific guns and was annoyed that they had several options for one particular Gun that I had bought only days before seeing this place. There in lies a difference in prices, although there was a different availability in options, I had gotten a better deal in price, by a lot, elsewhere. I asked to buy ammo and they were sold out, so I wonder if they allowed those regulars to buy more than one box at a time or they just came in a different day to buy a box. Since there has been a common restriction on the amount being sold because of the high demand. But I wonder if they have the same high prices like they do with their guns. They seem to be very involved in the community with events and to me that is a plus because how else to bring awareness and exercise of the 2nd amendment. The employees can be personable so a relationship with customers to me is paramount. So you'll be able to find that here. Simply by the 15 minutes I spent observing three of them you can tell. I'm bummed about the ammo and the specific guns I am looking for. But it's in the midst of a pandemic. So if I can't find it in this state I'll just take a trip to the state that does. I'll make a few more trips in here. Still new to Florida so I have time and this place seems like a good one to do business with due to the employees. read more

Worst customer service I've ever experienced. I walked in there on Monday 5 September 2022 to install a muzzle brake and a trigger on one of my rifles. Gentlemen behind the counter told me the install was too easy and that the weapon would be ready by Wednesday 7 September 2022. I walked in the morning of 7 September 2022 and the gun smith began to argue with me and call me a liar when I reported I came in on Monday even though I have a receipt that shows the date I came in the store. (It was Monday Labor Day weekend). The gun smith argued with me for almost 10 minutes about miscommunication within the organization and how he's extremely pissed off because the gentleman that gave that timeline doesn't dictate his work schedule. I'm currently a military service member on paternity leave home from deployment, I've been deployed since 14 December 2021. I have a newborn son at home and do not have the time to install parts on my own weapons as I'm enjoying time with my son before I have to go back. Even though the manager refunded the money for the install.. it did not take away from the unprofessionalism I encountered while in the store. I will 100% not be back, and none of my friends will either, both civilian, military and LEO. I rather drive an hour to another location then to deal with that ever again.. read more

Sorry but not sorry that this is long winded. 1st, Nobody is perfect and some understanding goes a long ways. I have read some of the 1 and 2 star reviews, and truly believe that they are unfair and there are details left out of what is happening. Let me start off with the fact that I am not the most patient person in the world. I have been through this location on several occasions. I have purchased FFL items, parts, and whole guns through this store. I have ordered online, shipped FFL item in to transfer, bought parts, and just browsed. I have been helped by 3-4 of the regular employees there. Has every transaction and encounter been peachy and perfect? No, but life dictates that perfection is not obtainable when you must rely on the actions of others to fulfill perfection. This is where the understanding comes in. Some purchases went super smooth and easy. In and out very quickly. Other visits took a bit. BGC delays, other customers, or finding my ordered "whatever" in a pile of yet-to-be-processed-shipments are probably one of many reasons that may lead to a not-so-perfect experience. I even experienced the ordered-and-suddenly-out-of-stock issue. Not sure what the last person to review about that did, but when I experienced it it was made right. The stripped AR lower I had ordered fell out of stock shortly after my order. The online sales manager contacted me or I contacted them (not sure which way that went) and refunded the full amount of the ordered lower. They offered me a discount on a slightly more expensive lower and all was well within the realm. Did I get my time back? No, but life is not perfect. Especially nowadays, plan delays into your experience. Another trip, I had come in to pick up a gun I had ordered on line. According to the shipper, the gun was there. However, when I walked in the place was packed. Every employee (5) was busy helping someone and I took my cue in the waiting line. I was pretty sure that the gun wasn't ready yet, but figured I'd inquire anyway. Well, it was expectedly not ready and John told me why and it should be ready by the next day. I actually bought a off-the-shelf-gun while I was waiting. John was very patient with me and even tried to expedite my online gun order. He offered to hold my new purchase until we transferred the online order to avoid doubling transfer fees. It is only $8, but the idea behind that was just awesome. I came back the next day and the store itself was not super busy, but the shipping/receiving was still swamped. John went back and found my order to expedite. Again, a little understanding and awesome customer service went a long way. I have been in and out of the gun world for a long time. You may find better customer service elsewhere, you may find better prices, elsewhere, and you may find a better selection. You will be hard pressed. I have been to both extremes of "gun shops", and this shop is among the best. Manage your expectations and give them a chance to prove that they are the best. read more

I live in Miramar Beach, but I drive the four hours necessary to come buy guns at The Armories. Why? Well, for one thing, they stand behind the products. I had an issue with the sights on my Sig. I called them, they said bring it in. I did. They got the parts from Sig and fixed the problem under warranty and did it in a very short time. The selection at the Oviedo store is not as big as some of the others, but they can get what you need if they don't have it in stock. And I was able to find my Sig P320 X-carry in stock and at a terrific price. The staff are knowledgable and easy to talk to. They don't give you a bunch of ballistics nonsense, they try hard to provide information you might need and do it in a way that makes you feel valued as a customer. I had a great interaction with a young man on a Saturday about 7 or 8 weeks ago when I bought a Sig 365 mini. This guy was a cut above. Clean shaven and very informative. He gets 5 stars. I paid cash. I came in on the following Thursday after work to pick up my weapon and I was served by a miserable person. He seemed to take exception to the fact that I was dressed in casual business attire and didn't sport a beard and a camouflage shirt. Perhaps he thought I was a cop to start with. This little guy with blond hair and beard was not someone I would have bought my sig from. Perhaps he had a bad day. Some people that can afford firearms have good jobs and need to dress well. They can help the customers with any of their needs for guns, parts, and ammo. Eddie has been especially helpful in helping me with my purchases of guns and accessories. I visited the Armories in mid-March to purchase a 9MM. Everything went smoothly, and I was told that I would be able to pick up my gun within 3 business days when the background check cleared. As of yesterday, my background check was still in a 'decision pending' status. I understand that the Armories has no control over that. I asked for a refund of my purchase, since I've had neither the gun nor my money for close to 2 months. I was informed that I would be charged a 20% restocking fee. That was the first time I had been informed of that policy. I asked for an exception for the fee, considering the circumstances and the current state of things. I talked to Store Manager Rob O'Brien, who advised he would check with the owners and call me back. I called back a week later after not hearing from him, and one of the employees told me that the owners had informed Rob that there would be no exception to the policy. I have plans to buy several more guns in the near future, and hoped to find a good partner in The Armories. Unfortunately, I found a business that is unethical and does not work in the best interest of their customers. The Armories has held my money for almost 2 months, and will take 20% for their "inconvenience." They can have that $90, but will have thousands in lost revenue as a result of their decision. I felt rushed during this process and irritated the sales rep. The computer in store somehow "dumped" my initial application, so I had to do it again. When I got home I found out the weapon I purchased was made in Turkey. I would have rather purchased something made in the USA. The store was busy so my being a novice didn't help matters. It was my fault for not asking enough questions, but I will purchase my ammo elsewhere as well as any gunsmithing that needs to be done unless it somehow voids warranty on the firearm. He is very knowledgeable and not only educated me but showed me the different options that were available without me feeling rushed or pressured.
