I was moving from a two-bedroom apartment (Dublin, CA to Danville, CA) filled with fragile furniture, glass pieces, mirrors, artwork, and a massive 9 foot tall, extremely heavy mirror. My movers communicated when they would arrive and showed up on time. I feel they overall handled my belongings with care and things went smoothly and efficiently. I was moving things from a 10x10 storage unit into a 1 bedroom apartment about an hour and a half away, with 1 stop to pick up a couch along the way. Total time took about 5.5 hours. On the other hand, things got weird when it was time to pay. I didn't appreciate feeling pressured when they tried to tell me that a 30% tip was the standard. I gave them 20%, which I felt was a good tip and standard for a good job. I was also pressured into writing both a Yelp and Google review, leaving them 5 stars as they hovered over me. I am coming back and editing my review now that I've had time to reflect on things. This explains all of the 5 star reviews!

The first two years we had Nelson and his team load up their truck and move us from one place to another in the South Bay. This latest move was particularly stressful because we're moving out of state and I accidentally booked UPline packing and loading services for THE WRONG WEEKEND and didn't realize until the night before I was a wreck and called them on a Thursday night at 5:30pm, sobbing, asking if they have any availability for the next day. Amber called me 30 minutes later and they miraculously had an opening the next morning. Julio and his team came promptly at 8am to begin packing up our 2 bedroom apartment. They did a phenomenal job! The three of them went above and beyond to wrap and pack everything with extreme care, asking clarifying questions and packing any hardware alongside furniture that required disassembly. And when my partner came with a big Penske truck, his team helped direct him into the spot (something I could have never done). It was a big job (9 hours to pack and load), but the team had a great attitude the whole time and made us feel so taken care of on a particularly stressful day. You might get quotes for slightly cheaper from other companies, but I promise you, UPline Moving rates are worth every penny for the quality and customer service and they don't upcharge on move day like many others do. From the customer service person who always books our move, Eithan, to the team manager, John, and every foreman onsite for our various moves, everyone is kind, calm, and brings great energy. We can't stress enough how much we recommend their services to anybody moving locally or out of state.

I really wanted to go with Great Wall, but my husband ended up wanting to go with a different moving company. Lily and John were incredibly responsive and helpful. They were transparent about the whole process and their rates were incredibly reasonable. I'm actually bummed that we didn't end up going with them, but definitely would consider them in the future. That said, I hope I don't have to move again. :-)
