I've been planning a week-long trip to Lake Powell for over a year, and my plan always included renting a couple of wave runners for my houseboat guests to enjoy. I started by researching prices of wave runners from various places at Lake Powell and locally in the Salt Lake and Provo valleys. I determined local places were the place to go - the prices were much more reasonable. Next, I reached out to five different rental places in the two local valleys via online forms, text messages, and phone calls. Action Toy Rental was one of two who even responded to me (or answered their phone). Their offer was the best offer, so I decided to give them a call back -- Nathan quoted a reasonable price per day for two wave runners and even offered some "supercharged" models that went up to 70-80mph, which after discussing with some of my guests, we decided to decline that offer and go with the deluxe models they had. Now, I had read reviews on various sites and had read on several reviews that the machines run great, but were obviously used. This was exactly the case, but honestly gave me a little peace of mind as I have had bad experiences with rental car companies before when it comes to damage. I had several questions throughout the whole process and Nathan was always responsive. I decided to make the reservation with them. Even got a pair of water skis and a tube to pull behind them and 6 lifejackets and an air pump. Pick-up day went smoothly and entirely as expected. They helped us hook up the trailer to our vehicle, and took a video recording of what the wave runners looked like at the time of rental. He provided a detailed overview of what we may encounter and what we would want to avoid, how to do things, and asking us questions to ensure we were set up. As for the vacation, the Wave Runners were used every day, refueled multiple times a day, and as far as I know, thoroughly enjoyed by all. Everyone wanted a video of themselves driving the wave runners, and I know the time I spent on those wave runners at Rainbow Bridge and in Reflection Canyon will be memories I will keep for life! We had zero mechanical (or any) issue with the wave runners and were lucky to have zero collisions/accidents as well. Return day came didn't go entirely as planned as the decontamination station at Lake Powell was short-staffed and was closed, so we were unable to decontaminate - it also took us longer than expected to get going from the marina, so we were running late to get back to Salt Lake City. I reached out about returning them late and the decontamination and again, they stepped up and offered a resolution to help us out when we needed it!
