ActivBody Physical Therapy - Orange - playing the game I love!!! - Physical Therapy Near Me - Orange, California

red flags:Physical Therapy Board of California laws and regulations state: "Physical therapy aids (PTA) cannot supervise other PTAs or aides." The PTA supervised the aide and the PTA student in his first rotation. The PT was rarely in the facility during my visits. "The PT aide must be supervised by a licensed PT." "PTAstudent is not allowed to perform manual manipulation on patients without direct and immediate supervision of a licensed PT." On 4 occasions the student did manipulations on my arm with no supervision. The PTA was working on other patients. "PTA, aides, and any worker needs to wear a name tag. and title while working ". No name tags were seen and I was under the impression that the PTA was the PT since she said 2 years when I asked how long it took to become a PT.(misunderstanding?) Total of 20 sessions. At session 15 I told the PTA that I felt I had reached a plateau and that I was getting more pain in new areas. I requested to meet with the PT. I met the Pt on the 18th session to discuss my treatment plan going forward. I had an appointment with an orthopedist and asked the Pt to write a report on my therapy. I was totally disappointed with his comments. He implied that progress was minimal due to my Laziness and lack of commitment. He wrote"She only does her home exercises part of the time". I emailed him and objected to his comments. I did most of the .exercises every single day until I spoke to the PTA about pains and possible not recommended exercises for my condition per my research provided by reputable sources. My meeting with the PT convinced me that he did not know me and my situation. In my 20 sessions the therapist PT has NEVER WORKED ON ME OR discussed my situation with me. He was rarely in the facility. My 2 meetings with the PT was session1, the intake.At the session he took only 2 range of motion measurements.He never went over a treatment plan other than to say I would come for 3 sessions a week and progress to 2 a week. The second encounter #18 was when I requested a meeting. I asked him to remeasure the angles taken on my first meeting. He said 5 degrees an 10 degrees improved. Very minimal, and yet, the PTA told me on numerous occasions that I was doing so much better. I just completed a 12 sessions treatment at another facility.NO RED FLAGS. The intake was thorough. I knew exactly the plan and what to expect. A PT manipulated my arm on every visit before aides assisted with exercises. I could hear the PT always going over with the aides as to what he wanted done. read more

For the longest time we had Kaiser and unfortunately Kaiser only schedules you with a PT 1-2 times a month and only for 30 minutes. I have a lot of pain and knots in my shoulders, back, and knees. I was told that PT wouldn't help my pain and to "strengthen my core and back." My husband and I decided to switch over to PPO in 2019. One of the first things I wanted to do was to go see a physical therapist. I went on yelp and came across ActivBody Physical Therapy and remembered that they are right next door to Nailicious. I called in December and asked to set an appointment in January. Without any difficulty or hesitation they scheduled me in and asked me to call in once I get my new insurance card. I came in after work last week and met with Paul. Paul is amazing! He listened to my complaints and did a thorough assessment, massage, and stretches. I decided to come in 3x a week for a couple weeks and the next time met with Chad. Chad was also amazing! He was helpful and showed me different exercises. He also gave me a printout and asked me to do the exercises daily. So far I have been here 3 times and I really like it here! He will end lien patients before they are healed because the money isn't going to be good, cash patients are given the bare minimum and people with good insurance are kept longer then they need to be there. My mother went here for a while. She noticed some erroneous billings. She went numerous times to let them know she had not been there for the sessions being billed, and the owner refused to do anything about it. Upon insisting she asked to see the sign-in log or any proof of being there, which they could not come up with. No camera footage, signature on a invoice, nothing. The owner still refused to remove the charges and ultimately threatened to send the bill to collections. I was present the last time my mother went to discuss it, and I can say (i believe) Paul the owner was rude, acted intimidating and refused to take care or even look at the issue, never mind actually noticing that indeed they were billing for something that never occured, and had no evidence of it. I came to this physical therapy location after seeing an offer advertised on Facebook. I have been having a slight pain in my shoulder that started out of nowhere. I had met with a chiropractor after 2 weeks of constant pain, but they were only focusing on my neck issue, which I have had for a long time & do need adjustments for it, but that is not what I went in for. Sometimes it's hard to figure out what kind of specialist to go to. And after this specific issue not being addressed at the chiropractors, I googled my pains, and it was suggested a visit to a physical therapist. I had never been to a PT before. I had always thought they were only needed after an accident, injury or surgery. But they can treat many pains, discomforts, and problems with limited mobility that may just be caused by everyday life, bad posture, and lack of exercise. Paul was great. He checked my mobility, asked the right questions, and suggested some stretching exercises that should correct my issue. He has dealt with these pains himself & was very knowledgeable on the different muscles that could be causing these pains. He wasn't trying to sell me anything...although he did mention that if my at home exercises don't help, I can come back for treatment. They accept insurance, but if you have a high deductible like me, they'll give you a deal for paying out of pocket. I'm very interested in the deep tissue laser therapy that they offer. It speeds up the healing process, and is pain & drug free. I will be recommending this practice to all my friends & family with on going issues. read more

I want to say that I had a great experience at ActivBody. 1st Paul the owner evaluated me and explained what was causing my knee problem. Very very knowledgeable. Then I was assigned to Chad who was also very brilliant . Kevin was the assistant and he was very very good too. I play table tennis at a high level and dance also and was unable to do either until I came to ActivBody. Le-Jay could be a professional trainer and showed me exercises specifically for table tennis. I started coming here for neck and shoulder pain twice a week. I have never been to Physical therapy ever but i do have to say that this place is AMAZING! Everyone is so sweet and nice. The staff is extremely friendly and is always working alongside with you to make sure you are getting the best treatment possible.
