I would like to share my experience with Dr. Kim at Acu Wellness. I honestly do not write reviews but my experience needs to be shared. I made an appt with Dr. Kim (wife) for Fibroid issues. My first visit was to discuss acupuncture treatments and herbal tonics to address the issue. I was very pleased with her manner, she is kind and knowledgeable. I finished the acupuncture treatment which was to be $80 (this was quoted to me on the phone before my appt). When it was time to pay she gave me a bill for $542???? She said it included a month of herbal tonics. I was very shocked at the high price but just payed it. I picked up the herbs a week later and began taking them as directed. The herbs did not agree with my system, they made me nauseous, gave me indigestion and migraines. I mentioned this to her in the following weeks of acupuncture...she specifically advised to wait a bit after eating and take honey with them to see if that would help. It did not help so I stopped taking them. Today for my acupuncture appt. I brought the unused herbal packets back to her and told her I just could not take them...they still made me very ill. I asked if I could get some kind of credit or session instead since I spent over $500 for something that makes me so sick. She had the nerve to say that she NEVER advised me to wait and take honey with the herbs. That she would NOT take them back and would NOT offer credit in any form. So I walked out. I suggested she should have prescribed a 2 week amount to see if the herbs agreed with my system instead of a whole month supply. I was so offended, why in the world would I make something like that up? Her lack of compassion was astounding! read more

I had a few ailments that have been troubling me for months. First, my left side as well as my right arm. I've tried everything, foam roller, ice, arm band, stretching, infrared sauna, Aleve, rest, and a variety of other homeopathic things. I went to the doctor and he recommended a steroid shot and I decided to give acupuncture a try instead. When I first arrived, Joon welcomed me into his clinic and it was very clean and quiet. He had me describe my symptoms and promptly knew what to do. After about the acupuncture he also suggested fire cupping, which I did as well. Note: Fire cupping is awesome! Acu Wellness is run by a husband and wife team with two locations; one in Torrance and one in Long Beach, each acupuncturist specializing in different techniques. Acute pain can often be permanently fixed within a few to several treatments. Chronic pain may not be completed cured, but it can be managed and certainly alleviated. I suffer from chronic osteoarthritis and spinal stenosis. I am a 61 year old male in good physical shape, but pain seriously dampens my life and I have had to give up tennis, running and other sports to avoid exasperating my pain levels. Going to acupuncture for me is like taking 1000 mg of Tylenol 4x/day, or 1000 mg of Naproxen (Aleve) or 3200 mg of ibuprofen. Acupuncture allows me to function with a pain level of 2 to 4 and NOT have to take any anti-inflammatory (NSAID) drugs which are not healthy for the kidney and liver, so in a sense, acupuncture will allow me to live longer. I was also on opioids for over 6 years and acupuncture helped me to get completely off of them and I have not taken any NORCO for over 8 months now. Acupuncture points stimulate the central nervous system releasing chemicals into the muscles, spinal cord, and brain. These biochemical changes help stimulate the body's natural healing abilities. On your intake, you will fill out a detailed health questionnaire that will allow them to determine what treatment to implement. In addition to treatment with needles, they also offer herbal supplements for issues such as weight loss, smoking, etc. and they offer cupping techniques.
