We are strong believers on "you get what you pay for," and opted to go with them even though they were not the cheapest. From beginning to end, the guys at Smart Swim were easy to work with and truly wanted our project to come out great. After 30 years, it was time for our pool to have a remodel! Through the remodel, it was uncovered that we had many severe leaks, down to the rebar that needed to be fixed in some areas. Sam was great at making sure we understood the severity and that we were okay with any new costs that needed to be added. Not only did they do our pool, but also installed turf by the pool area and put pavers all around the pool and yard area. We also got the new gray gate installed from them as well, to replace the wooden fence in the yard (between the pool). **Noting that the perimeter wall/wooden top was painted black and sanded/stained by a different company. We truly appreciate their hard work and even when we had an immediate death in the family during their time working on our project, they were very respectful and gave us some space as needed. I mentioned injecting an epoxy filler (which the other company used and said was the only way) but Chase wasn't comfortable using that method because he said it rarely holds and he was right - the one area that I thought was resolved by the other pool company with epoxy filler, began leaking within a month. The work in question was mostly masonry repair for a pool crack, but it became clear very quickly that he was neither knowledgeable nor reliable. He constantly showed up late (when he showed up at all), invaded my privacy by looking up my personal profile on Facebook, and then lied about it by saying that I had looked him up. Completely unprofessional behavior. On top of that, he tried to charge $2,500 upfront before any work was completed, and then demanded another $2,500 after the supposed "completion"--even though he left the pool completely empty, which every real contractor knows can cause serious structural damage and new cracks. That alone could have cost me thousands. To be safe, I brought in a licensed masonry and construction contractor for a second opinion, and he confirmed what I already suspected: this guy didn't know what he was doing and was simply trying to take advantage of us. His exact words were that the original person I hired was "an idiot" just trying to take us for a ride. Save yourself the stress, money, and potential damage to your property--go with a licensed, experienced contractor who knows pools and masonry. The previous pool man (a one man operation) failed to service the pool for 3 or 4 weeks due to claimed illness. He made no provision to let us know and provided no substitute service. By the time the tenant realized the pool wasn't being serviced, we had a mess on our hands. We called Aqua 26 and spoke with Greg. What a refreshing experience! It was obvious that he cared about providing quality service. We learned that he had several crews and assured us that he was able to provide continuous service. Greg went by the property and reported back immediately what was needed to restore the pool. We hired him on the spot and couldn't be happier. He and Max brought to pool back to health in an amazingly short time. The tenant says the pool has never looked so consistently good.
