I received several other quotes, but so glad I chose CB. David Moshe was my main contact there. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and straightforward about what needed to be done and where potential problems might be. From day one, everything went smoothly and efficiently. Had a wonderful experience with Cavalier doing some major renovations at our home. The whole team - David, Sharon and Tal are great! They are very easy to work with and everything was low stress. When we weren't exactly sure about what we wanted (when it came to remodeling our bathroom, as well as the design of the paver driveway walkway in front of our home), Cavalier provided lots of design choices and solutions. We had a really dated bathroom with an unused shower due to a shower pan leak and decided to just renovate the whole thing. Found Cavalier Builders through Yelp and they came to the rescue! The entire team is amazing and while big home projects are often stressful, Sharon and his team made it a positive experience. The biggest thing for me was that they were able to complete the work (including clean-up) within the timeframe we agreed on. When we consulted Sharon with our project, he had a "can do" mindset and really listened to what I wanted while also giving solid advice. I've had bad luck with contractors before and been gaslit at times, but Sharon's approach of having an actual conversation and putting the customer first made us go with his team. While most remodels require you to acquire materials on your own, Sharon connected us with Tile and Shower door folks (and they also had nothing but good things to say about him). I appreciate how he'd always check in to make sure we have all the items ready (i.e. vanity, toilet, etc.), and he'd always drop in to check on the progress. Eddie and his team were absolute professionals and do everything with care and precision. Really liked how he'd always double-check things with us down to the smallest detail (e.g. paint colors, door hinges, etc.). Pricing, I'd say they're within average of the estimates we received. We hired Sharon (pronounces as sha-ron) as our contractor to remodel 2 bedroom 1.5 bathroom house-- pretty much all interior, from demolishing to repainting, replumbing laundry room, 1.5 bathrooms, installing hardwood floors throughout, and tiling kitchen and bathroom floors. Only thing we didn't have budget for was the kitchen cabinets. Cavalier exceeded my expectations and went above and beyond. They took care of our house like their family member's house. They showed up everyday-- 8hrs/day, rain or shine, 40+hrs a week-- worked really hard and paid attention to small little details. They had their own venders that carried top of the line materials at best prices. We were first time home buyers and Sharon and his crew (Fernando, Elias, Felix Marcelo, Sammy, and Miguel) made the house look like the ones you would see on HGTV. This is a review for my bathroom and kitchen remodel. For the remodel, I was looking to add a shower bench and have the bathroom appear more open and bright. As for the kitchen, I wanted to remove the small double bowl sink for a single large bowl which required removing the old countertop. Cavalier is a family owned company with Sharon as our main contact. His son came by for the initial estimate and was on time, friendly and personable. In terms of cost, they were about the same as another quote. I ended up choosing Cavalier because he and his son seemed to be nicer and more attentive. Because Cavalier is based up north from where I live, the workers came early in the morning and left in the early afternoon. The tile store they use is up there as well so I went to the local Floor/Decor closeby. The only major issue was regarding some miscommunication about the start date for the bathroom. Otherwise, as with any remodeling project, unexpected small problems popped up but were fixed promptly and with ease. I appreciated how easy it was to communicate with Sharon and how quickly he responded to my messages and gave his advice on decisions. Eddie, who was on site daily, was polite, kind, thorough with correcting issues that would arise and came back if anything needed to be touched up. The crew was punctual and always tried to sweep up afterwards so that the walking area was clean. They covered the wooden floor and furniture to prevent dust and damage. The project was completed at the estimated time and looked as promised. Overall, the major positives about working with Cavalier are the people themselves along with the quality of their work. He identified issues that no one else did. 2. He included everything we talked about in our estimate. (Vs. 8 out of 10 contractors missed a lot of work we discussed.) And David's estimate was much more specific on how the work was to be addressed, leaving less room for misunderstandings. 3. Despite including more work, his bid still fell middle of the pack of the 10 people we talked to. There were a couple change orders that came up during the project. My husband and I had a great experience working with Sharon, Fernando, Felix, and the team at Cavalier Builders. They helped transform our garage and primary bathroom. Sharon was great about sticking to his initial quotes and estimated timelines from our original consultation. Cavalier Builders worked fast but with great care. They ensured our hardwood floors were protected and thoroughly covered up our rooms and furniture to minimize dust. They helped install new doors, add insulation on the walls, install a ceiling, grind and seal large cement cracks, demo, repaint, rework plumbing, etc. They were super communicative throughout the process and consulted us on design and functionality choices throughout to ensure we would be happy with the end result. If we weren't completely happy with something, they'd fixed it. During our bathroom demo, we noticed a few cracks on the other side of the wall. They were easily able to match the old paint and patch it up so well it's impossible to tell there used to be a crack there. The only hiccup we had with Cavalier Builders was the shower glass company that they contracted. Without diving into all the details, the shower glass company had to come five separate times in order for us to have a functional shower door because they mismeasured, forgot handles, and installed our door crooked leading to a variety of issues. Sharon happened to be out of the country for a personal matter so we tried not to bug him, but eventually had to send him a note expressing our concerns with our shower. We did not expect a response until he returned the following week, but he responded to us that day, called the shower glass company, and had them rectify our issues the next day. It's been a little less than a month since Cavalier Builders has completed their work and we're still happy with the results. Sharon was super communicative throughout the whole process and absolutely great to work with. We'll definitely be hiring Cavalier Builders for future projects. read more
