The first time was unpleasant due to the hostess, so I was a little hesitant coming back. But this experience was amazing from start to finish. The energy was warm and positive, the food and drinks were excellent, and everything we ordered was delicious. My daughter chose this restaurant for her graduation, and it ended up being a beautiful celebration Definitely glad we gave it another try Our Waiter was Amazing

From the moment we walked in, they were welcoming and friendly, the server patiently explained their highlights and recommendations. It's clear the restaurant is very intentional about their food choices. The manager even wrote a personalized birthday card for me and gave us a follow up call the next day to check in on our experience which was very kind of them. In regards to the food, it was delicious but we didn't find it exceptional enough to justify the high price point. The meal started off with complimentary bread service that you could choose with sea salt or garlic parmesan topping. The bread was so fluffy, warm, and comforting. We ordered the Braised Pork Belly, which was surprisingly tender and juicy, and the sauce complimented it very well. We ordered the regular size bone-in KC Strip to share. It was a huge portion and they give you extremely hot plates so that the steak stays warm and sizzly on your plate once you eat it. We were pretty impressed by how juicy and tender it was. The corn creme brulee and Boursin cheese whipped potatoes we had as sides were great complements to the dish. At the end of our meal, they treated us with a complimentary Cookies and Cream Popcorn Sundae which was super unique and really delicious. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant if you're willing to ball out and celebrate for a special night.

The parking situation wasn't great -- mostly street parking, and it felt pretty hectic. The restaurant itself is quaint but small, so it gets crowded and loud inside. We had a patio reservation and were seated in the covered patio, which ended up being perfect since it was freezing outside and much quieter than the main dining room. For food and drinks, I ordered a nonalcoholic spritz, which was really refreshing. We shared a pizza that was pretty good, and I ordered the black pepper and parmesan spaghetti. It was okay -- not bad, but nothing too memorable. Overall, we enjoyed our food, and our waiter was very nice and attentive. I'd recommend trying it out and definitely making a reservation.

Considering the casual upscale nature of the restaurant, we expected a bit more attention to the table in terms of checking in order additional dishes / drinks. The tables were also quite small and our table in particular was a bit uncomfortable to dine at. Food wise, we were impressed with everything but their pizza's. Their appetizers were solid, both pasta dishes were delicious, and flavor and portions were solid. Their pizza style is a thicker crust style and we weren't a fan of the duck pizza at all, and their pepperoni based pizza was fine. Not the biggest fan of their dough or crust. Their cavatelli was delicious!

There were also a lot of families, which was cute, although I personally am not buying my daughter $16 fries. Our waitress was personable and made great suggestions, especially regarding mocktails. This is important for non-drinkers because there are no mocktails on the drink menu, but the bartender will craft something you will like. Even my friend who normally avoids mocktails was very impressed. Apps: Crab Hushpuppies - 10/10: Crunchy, crabby, and came with a fantastic honey butter sauce. Caviar Tater Tots - 6/10: Well done -- they literally whipped the potato on the inside -- but at $37, you are paying more for the caviar, which was missing that fresh, creamy saltiness you normally seek. You also only get 4 tots. I would just get two orders of the crab hushpuppies. Mains: Chicken - 10/10: The truffle sauce was dreamy, and I think they could sell it on the streets. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and tender, and the dish also came with flaked truffles on top. I normally do not order chicken out, but this dish makes me wonder what I've been missing. Lobster fettuccini - 7/10: I don't think this is the dish to get here. The lobster didn't taste the freshest, and it also didn't have a lot of lobster to begin with. The sauce was well done and clearly made with lobster stock. I would come back, but there are dishes that shine much brighter than others.

Extremely kind service from the hosts through the entire team. The best balance of conversational and storytelling without being overbearing. We never felt rushed and they made the experience feel personal, and felt we truly got to know the restaurant and reasoning behind a few of the dishes just through their excitement. We ordered coffees along with the crab hush puppies, gumbo, avocado toast, and ended with their massive cinnamon roll. It was the perfect spread and everything was so flavorful! (My only critique was I wish the cinnamon roll was warmed up and served with a bit more icing). The interior was fabulous with an amazing aroma. I would highly recommend for anywhere from an intimate date to a group brunch! Beautiful bar as well, I cannot wait to come again another night for dinner. Upon exit, we were also departed with a complimentary cookie - super cute touch!

I know this place is highly rated, and we all enjoyed the food. Looks like they are known for game meat so it was fun to try antelope, elk, quail, etc. I struggled to leave this review, but I felt compelled to share my experience. I have no issues with the food, but we were not very welcomed. I am Asian, and the guys are Hispanic. Majority of the patrons there were older, white men. They not so subtlety stared at us, like we didn't belong. Although we were not denied service, the waitress was rude, and we felt the quiet prejudice. It broke my heart to receive that kind of judgement based on my appearance in such a diverse city like Houston. If you are not white, maybe think twice about going to Rainbow Lodge.

We had a set menu for brunch, which we were also able to customize a bit since we had some vegetarians in our group and everything came out perfectly.
