He called when I was free, and in chatting with me he realized that it had been a rough road for me over the last couple of months and was eager to help. He suggested that I actually come into his office the next day instead(!). Fast forward to appt time, he took my lengthy history of sinus issues, persistent coughing, constant congestion, the works. You could almost see the wheels turn as he tried to put the puzzle pieces together to proactively help me with all of my symptoms that I was experience and figure out the best solution to alleviate them for me. I guess just letting patients know there is a delay is not in their job description. They are short staffed but take that frustration out on the patients. Dr. Pendleton was kind, caring, thorough, very knowledgeable, and explained things well. She listened to me and gave great advice. I was also impressed with her medical assistant Chris, and Raina at the front desk was very kind. It did take a few months to get in, and Raina and I had a lot of phone tag voice mails with some frustrating micommunication where she thought I was cancelling my appt when I was just trying to see if they had an earlier opening come up, but she was very nice and helpful in person. The day of my son's appt I was in the hospital with a post-op infection, so my husband (his step-father) picked him up from school and hour before his appt in order to get him the required Zyrtec dose and got him to his appt on time, only to be told that he was on "the list" of people allowed to take my son to appts...what f'ing list??? My husband takes our children to their doctors appts all the time and it has never been an issue!! We'll be getting a copy of my son's records and finding a new allergist immediately.
