My 8 year old son was taken here to get a procedure done on his big toe due to it being chronically…read moreingrown. From what my husband said; the procedure went smoothly and my son was pretty much pain free. I was relieved it hear that. It was not until a few days later when I noticed that my son's skin had a superficial burn from a substance called "phenol". So not only is he trying to recover from a partial nail avulsion, he now has his skin peeling off and is red and angry and swollen all over versus just where the procedure was. Now I am not particularly upset that the burn happened, things happen and I'm it was not malicious in anyway from Dr. Roemer. His follow up visit; I finally met Dr. Roemer and he notices the burn and points out that it's from the phenol. I said "yeah, I know." He looked surprised I knew and said "you know?" I explained that I had posted a photo of his toe on a podiatry FB group to sort out what was happening. He responds with "well you could've asked me instead of posting that photo everywhere for people to guess what it is." I explained that it wasn't random people and was run by podiatrists. He says "well I'm a podiatrist". Cool? Between his tone, demeanor and complete lack of empathy for my distress seeing my child in additional pain and for my son to go through that...I've never met someone so condescending considering he screwed up and caused further injury to my 8 year old child. Not once did he apologize for it happening and causing him additional pain. He has another follow up, but after that is completed, that will be our last visit with this doctor.

My appointment was on July 7, 2026. Allow me to start my…read moresaying that the employees at the front desk were friendly and helpful when I arrived at my appointment, but it was all  downhill from there. The assistant who called me into Dr. Rosenthal's office was less than  friendly, not introducing herself or even saying hello.  She was very  cold, direct and short while asking me questions about my foot pain.  Dr. Rosenthal had good reviews, but I don't understand why she  obviously hadn't looked at my records that were sent from the VA  weeks before my appointment.  And she mentioned that she couldn't  read the MRI report of my foot which I don't understand at all.  Fortunately, I took a copy of the written report with me or I'm not  sure what she would have done.   I had mentioned to her that I had other issues with my other foot as  well that I wanted to address but she never even asked what they were or mentioned that I should make another appointment to have them  taken care of or looked at.  If she had looked over my records that  were sent from the VA she would have seen that I have other issues  that need attention. She said she was going to send in a prescription to the pharmacy for  me.  I had asked her if she could send it to the VA pharmacy and she  said she wasn't able to do that.  My appointment was at 2:30. I didn't  get to the civilian pharmacy until 8:00 that evening and was told that  there was no prescription there.  I called the doctor's office next  morning to find out why it wasn't there and spoken to very rudely by  who I believe was the scheduler (not sure).  She gave no apology and  told me that it just wasn't sent.  I then asked why it couldn't be sent to the VA pharmacy, and she asked if I checked that option on the tablet when I filled out that information when I checked in.  I told her that it  wasn't an option.  I had also asked Dr. Rosenthal if she could send the prescription to the VA and she told me that she wasn't able to.  Come  to find out, the person on the phone said that it COULD be sent to the VA and that she would do it.  I had asked her who the young lady was that called me  into Dr. Rosenthal's office and she wouldn't give me her name.  I askedif she was a nurse, assistant, etc. and she wouldn't tell me.  I told her  that I would like to know how to address her.  She then sharply said  "assistant".  I mentioned that she wasn't very pleasant and described my situation.  She was less than sympathetic and rather rude telling  me that it's not their office practice for the assistant to introduce themselves to the patients and she's never seen that done before.  I told her that I've been in many doctor and dentist offices and they are always  friendly and introduce themselves in some way either by name or  profession.  She got very rude and short with me telling me that she  was sorry I wasn't happy with the way they do things. After all of that, I remembered that I needed a work slip so I called  back and fortunately talked to someone else asking if they could fax  one to me.  They said they would.  That never happened.  Several  hours later I called back and spoke with someone else (a very pleasant young lady) and asked her if she could email it to me.  She did that for me and I appreciated it. I have a follow up appointment but after this experience, I called back and cancelled it. Now I'm on the search for another podiatrist! I've never had such an unpleasant experience as this in any other  doctor's office and even though there are other podiatrists in that  same office, I won't be going back to that location simply because of  the attitude of many of the employees and how rudely I was treated.
