Terrible doctor and terrible staff. He even performed tests that were unnecessary and unrelated to my complaint after he confirmed that my insurance would pay for it. The treatment, numerous shots into the ball of my foot, were painful and made my problem worse. The doctor I consulted afterwards was confused by the treatment that I received I went there based on online reviews, it was a big mistake. I used to think the world of the doctor, because of his good care, (not so much the staff because one time I was literally running 3 or 4 minutes behind and she called me.) I got tired of the constant push to sell $40 nail polish or $40 foot cream. He talked me into a biopsy on my foot and I still don't believe it was pre-cancerous. I do like getting the orthotics and top-of-the-line tennis shoes once a year. And he is a caring doctor and good conversationalist. I just learned to say no and I don't need an appointment for every little thing! This place is very dishonest and the office staff is very rude. Instead of treating for gout, they treated me for tendonitis which I never had and billed me for an ankle orthotic and told me I needed additional orthotics for my shoes. I paid upfront not knowing what the charges were for. I had a severe cause of gout and could not walk. They charged me an office visit to get a doctor note. After the orthotics came in, they wanted to charge me another office visit to pick them up even though I didn't need them! This doctor is more like a salesman and tries to make money however he can. Dr Michaels care is of the best! His bedside manner is impeccable! taking the time to listen to your patient without interruption. Nonverbal active listening: Listen completely and intently. Show genuine interest in the care of his patients! My foot problem is a time process in healing. Dr Michaels has great patience and understanding. His staff team is amazing. this place is very dishonest. In my opinion I went in for my first visit they have my feet done because I'm a diabetic by the time I left there they diagnosed me with a plantar fasciitis, which I never even had complaints on my feet wanted me to try all these items he kept given to me running up my insurance then he said come back in a week charge my insurance for a full foot exam, but never even took my shoes off. Not sure how you charge for something you never even provided service for I reached out to my insurance and explain to them about it. Dr. Michaels treats both my children at his Hagerstown location. He is very knowledgeable and patient. We had a lot of questions and he always takes the time to answer us and make sure we understand his treatment plan. The staff is great and always friendly. read more

This doctor is a joke. He puts every person in a boot and upsells to everyone and tells them they need certain shoes. He always filled out my necessary paperwork. The last time he refused. Instead he quoted Shakespeare "to thine own self be true". I got my pcp to fill out the paperwork after leaving this office and went to my pcp in the next five minutes and he told me he would fill out my paperwork from then on for free. I got a call when I got home to please come back to the office. I was told his office was losing a ton of patients. I said it is no wonder because this office was a joke. He does the same routine for every single patient. He did surgery on my foot he said, but his partner said they just opened up my foot and could not do anything and sewed me back up. But, since then a month later I developed a blood clot from my ankle to my groin. I almost died. Now I have MRSA due to the conditions in the hospital surgery room. They since tore down the hospital because it was full of MRSA. I had to have 60 plus infusion treatments through a port in my arm. All of this because he said he could help me. All he did was open and close my foot and charge a horrific bill, and then I have had problems ever since. I now have 3 blood clots in my leg. He said it would build new pathways like blood vessels to get the blood flowing back to my heart as it should. Well, that didn't happen either. I would never recommend this doctor. When people ask for recommendations on Facebook, I don't have to put anything now because everyone recommends other doctors, but always put whatever you do, do NOT go to this doctor. I would not recommend him to anyone. He does things that he can charge Medicare for and he makes a lot of money on what he makes from Medicare and has several offices. However word of mouth is going to be his ruination. "To thine own self be true" is a Shakespeare quote and his answer to me as to why he would not fill out paperwork. I guess he didn't think I would know Shakespeare. However, this does nothing to help his reputation...in fact it makes him look more of a fraud and the fraud that he is. read more
