I have been eating here since 2017 when I first moved to Gainesville. The service is perfect. I can talk about the food that I love eating here. It is the RIBS, COLLARD GREENS, CORNBREAD. So I had a chance to visit this restaurant while in Gainesville for another class. It was very busy but worth the wait. It's been a local establishment for years and I see why it's located in a very obvious old Pizza Hut restaurant but yet it doesn't feel that way while inside. Mixed emotions on this review. We ordered delivery, and everybody loved loved loved the food. The problem was that one of our salads was supposed to be Dairy Free, yet both had cheese and no dressing for either salad. Most of the dinners included fries. Yet there was no salt and ketchup. One of our guests ordered the fish sandwich but came with no tartar sauce. The only meal that was not enjoyed was the hamburger. While the garlic bread was good, the baked beans and corn were simply OK but disappointing. After driving by and hearing their ads on the local radio station, I decided to give Adam's Rib Company a try. Parking is out front, along the side, and back behind the restaurant, which is on NW 13th Street. I got the rib dinner half slab with potato salad and BBQ baked beans as my two sides. The meal also came with a piece of Texas toast. For the price ($22) there was a lot of food but the ribs ended up being more greasy than flavorful. Additional seasoning would have really kicked them up a notch. The BBQ baked beans and potato salad were about what you would expect and the Texas toast was literally just a piece of bread with little if any butter or spices on it. I'm hoping this was just a one-off circumstance for Adam's Rib Company and that the next time I try it I am more impressed. read more

Great pregame dining spot in Gainesville, with consistently good food and service. Their barbecue is always flavorful and they have a bunch of different sauces to choose from. We tried the pork, the ribs and the brisket and they were just average. Didn't care for the potato salad or Cole slaw. The fries and Mac and cheese were great. But I'm here for the meat right? The inside was very noisy. It was hard to hold a conversation. But the biggest disappointment was the service. The waitress that seated us was downright rude (blonde ponytail). No personality at all. No friendliness at all. She appeared disappointed when we asked for a couple minutes to look over the menu (it was our first time there). Maybe she was having a bad day but I would have settled for just average service. This was bad service. She never checked on us other than to bring the final bill and she just kinda slapped it down on the table. Didn't even ask if we wanted dessert. No check up to see if we needed refills (mine sat empty for most of the meal and we had to go to the bar to ask for a refill). No check up to see if everything was ok after it came out (it wasn't). No asking us if we wanted any sauces. Just basic waitressing skills that take little to no effort. I ended up having to stop a different waitress as she passed because ours never came back for payment. I don't expect much above the basics. I think She needs to find a different line of work because customer service is not in her wheel house. The rest of the staff, including the waitress I stopped that wasn't ours seemed pleasant and helpful so maybe it was just our bad luck we ended up with who we did. read more

Went there for lunch one Saturday on a gameday. (That was a mistake) Both of us had the rib plates and they were pretty good. It is a good place to grab lunch and it is in a convenient location. It is definitely a no-frills type place, but it is in my humble opinion that a barbecue restaurant should be more humble. Barbecue is not high end food and it is certainly not what many would consider fancy. It is a simple food prepared with a passion and that is probably what makes barbecue so wonderful. As I have said, the food is definitely good. You cannot go wrong with the pulled pork sandwich. In this case I went in one evening to just pick some food up, as I just wasn't feeling like making dinner that night. We came in to eat dinner after a day visiting UF. We got the dinner for two, which was a lot of food. The ribs were perfect. They are pork spare ribs. They didn't need any sauce, but the sweet sauce made it that much better. We got green beans and potato salad. The green beans were very tender. The potato salad was good. The service was great. We recently moved and are so happy that Adam's is walking distance from where we live. Some of our favorite easy dinners have been just walking down to Adam's. We feel like we've had everything on the menu by now - I always love the macaroni and cheese and the chopped chicken sandwich. I'm also a sucker for corn nuggets! With all the years coming to Gainesville, why have I never been to Adam's Rib Company? Great local joint with Gator decor throughout - I mean their logo is a Gator so that only makes sense. We started with a small fried okra appetizer which was perfect - not overly done as the okra still had the snap of a fresh vegetable and you could still taste the okra. We've had some fried to death (elsewhere) where it's almost like popcorn and just used as a vessel to eat ranch dressing. We all agreed that this okra was some of the best we've ever had. Of course I had to get some ribs and my 3 rib dinner came with 4. Fall off the bone tender with great flavor and bark. They have about 35 homemade sauces and I tried a few - honey sweet mustard, carolina mustard vinegar, and the sweet which is their default on each table. All were very good and complimented their bbq nicely. I went with collards and fries for sides and the collards had a nice flavor but I felt they could have removed a few more of the stems. All food was served fresh and hot and service was friendly and fast. We get to Gainesville about 10 times a year and Adam's Ribs will certainly be one of our go to spots for a good meal. read more

So delicious! I've lived in Gainesville for almost 5 years at this point and have always wanted to come here, but somehow never made it until today. So glad I did! My boyfriend and I both got the City Boy meal, which is 2 meats, 2 sides, and 2 pieces of garlic toast for $17! We both walked away with full to-go boxes because the portions were so huge, definitely good bang for your buck. The meat in itself was so flavorful I almost didn't need sauce. The fries were well-seasoned and crispy, I loved their southern-style green beans, and my boyfriend enjoyed their mac n cheese. We also got the corn nuggets which were great! I used to be more of a sliced pork person, but I have found it safer to order ribs. Especially when the place has "rib" in the name. The ribs here are not those super greasy pork ribs that most other places offer. These ribs here are massive and beefy. I am a fatty, and lucky if I can manage to scarf down two of them. And then, floss like a fiend for three hours afterwards. Even though there are many sauces to choose from, you will have to get up from your seat and pick them up from the line-up of sauces on the bar. They are not easily provided for you on the table. The side dishes are just okay, nothing fantastic. The same with the toast, it could really use some garlic or something flavorful. The dining area is tiny, so be prepared to eat outside or come during a not-so-busy time. Another thing--- the staff here has a serious staring problem. Maybe I was eating my food wrong? Because they would not stop staring at me the entire time and look at the way that I was eating my food, like what sauces I was using and what order I was eating the food in.
