The website was easy to navigate with the option to walk-in or schedule an appointment. I opted to schedule an appointment in two hours. The appointment scheduling system was a breeze and very user friendly. I saved a bunch of time uploading my Driver's License, Insurance Card and filling out all my information. I received text and email updates. I arrived 30 minutes before my appointment and the receptionist was friendly and checked me in, even though there was a QR code to scan for self-check. The waiting room was 75% full, so I opted to sit near the door one seat away from other patients on either side. While waiting there was a steady flow of patients coming and going. What I disliked was when a new patient sat right next to me when there was a row of three empty seats. I feel like it's just good manners to sit far apart when possible. Nurse Ashley took me back to check my vitals 8 minutes after my schedule appointment. Instead of measuring my height and weight she asked me. She did take my blood pressure, pulse and temperature. She brought me back to wait in a treatment room. After 15-20 minutes she came back to inform me that I will be seen by a provider shortly and thank you for waiting. I made myself comfy in the armchair. It was probably another 30 minutes before Dr. MacKenzie came in. She asked a few questions, took a look at me, gave me her diagnosis but wanted a second opinion and asked me to wait a little longer. Another doctor came in, asked some questions, looked at me and felt my eyes, gave the same diagnosis and departed. Dr. MacKenzie explained the diagnosis, prescribed a steroid, antihistamine and topic ointment. These were all ready for me before I arrived at my preferred pharmacy. What I appreciated the most was her level of care. I respected that she took time to get a second opinion and thoroughly explained everything to me and answered all my questions. While it's never fun to go to the hospital, she eased my anxiety for sure. I highly recommend this location for urgent care needs and hope that you are lucky to get Dr. MacKenzie.

I asked the receptionist if I missed seeing the doctor because of his inability to process my blue cross insurance, and he said yes. I was in utter disbelief. Their website does not reflect that the doctor goes on lunch for over an hour, there are no signs in the office reflecting this, and he didn't tell me this up front, so I waited for 15 minutes for no reason. I took off work for this, and was unable to wait until 1pm to be seen. Unreal. This gap in service needs to be advertised, as this is something that a patient can plan around. It is absurd that I was told to wait for over an hour when I could have been informed of this gap in service for the doctor's lunch before I left work and planned accordingly. I went to the Mission Valley location instead as recommended by the receptionist, since "they have two doctors instead of just one." Mission Valley figured out my insurance card in literally 5 seconds as all doctor's offices have. I won't return to this Hillcrest location, but if you choose to go there, don't go between 11:45am and 1pm!!

She called me with that news. I couldn't have been more pleased with Dr. Saidani and this Scripps HeathExpress Hillcrest encounter. Easy peasy when I wasn't feeling good.

Due to this year's change in insurance. I've had to suffer the ineptitude of Molina...particularey any mental health protocol. Shocking! and potentially harmful. 100% incompetent/ negligent. Results of the standard Rapid Test will be given within 15 minutes while the Early Test results will take two weeks. For HIV testing at this site, I find it best to make an appointment. After explaining the consent forms and procedure, they pricked my finger for the rapid test. The results are faster than the mouth swap by 10-20 minutes. During the 10-15 minutes waiting time for the results, the worker asked me further questions about my sexual practices and explained things if I needed it. It wasn't my first time at the rodeo, so I didn't really need much explanation. Then, I got my rapid results and was taken into a room to get my blood drawn for the Early Test. Done and done. PS Note that there are limits to every test and know what the results are telling you. While the Early Test detects recent infection well, the Rapid Test detects a wider time frame. It's important to pick the appropriate test for your possible exposure time frame. I like to do both for the overlap.

Even before him, we were misdirected by EVERYONE from our pediatrician to the 6 different people on the phone. First we were sent from Scripps Mission Valley to 501 Washington. The flyer they gave me said Ste but no suite number. GPS led me to the garage for Village Hillcrest. The flyer from the pediatrician did not explain which elevator to take so we ended up in the deserted VH mall. A nice woman who just came off an elevator told us to go around to the separate entrance to the medical offices. We went there. NONE of the office listings by the elevator say 1. RADIOLOGY, 2. SCRIPPS . NONE OF THEM. Where were we supposed to go? There were no doors, no people, no phone numbers. So I called and called the number on our pediatrician's flyer and kept getting transferred to people who had never been in the building and read us the same instruction- go to the building with no sign for Scripps or Radiology. Then they kept transferring me to the radiology clinic and disconnecting me. 40 minutes elapsed with this circus and I finally get the man in radiology and I explain our need to get an xray. He keeps telling me he is about to close. He says we should go to Scripps Mercy even though it is 4:40 and he is open and we are a couple minutes away. You can tell he doesn't want us to come even though we are located in the parking lot directly behind his building and it would take is less than 2 minutes to get there. I explain we just need a chest x ray and that we have been trying since BEFORE 4:00 PM to find the office that is NOT labeled in the building directory by the elevators. He says it's a one room clinic and he is the only one there. Clearly he didn't want us to find him. He keeps saying he is going to close soon. He repeats again that we could go to Scripps Mercy which is across the street for the fourth time and I give up. P.S. Scripps Mercy had us in and out in less than 15 minutes with kindness, grace and courtesy. We were done even before Scripps Coastal closed. STAY AWAY FROM SCRIPPS COASTAL- as the man told me it is a "one room clinic" with only him working there. He does not want to help you or any patients.

I proceeded with a corporation report, and today, April 22, I received a call from Labcorp apologizing, explaining, and presenting her side of the facts: she was "surprised" because I showed up 5 minutes earlier, given that the area around is full of homeless people. I appreciated the acknowledgment and the effort to clarify the situation. Then Labcorp, through their employee, assumed I was a homeless person, even presenting the pre-paid label of my appointment.
