However, the computer was monitoring me and giving advice that was super helpful. I believe that my favorite thing about Surefire would be the convenience, there are multiple locations in San Diego and they are offered at by the hour. There was a link that had videos of someone else practicing CPR on the mannequins, which was super helpful- on that same link showed a video of instructions on how to enter the building. Once I arrived to the room, I turned the light on, wiped down the mannequins with a sanitizer wipe, and then logged into the computer. You're given multiple attempts to pass, and it will give you advice on how often you should compress/ventilate, when you switch, and how deep your compressions should go. I would recommend this experience to anyone.

Surefire is totally worth it for the convenience and concise, effective teaching. Once i signed up, I was able to access my course content which I did at home. You are able to stop as needed. I was able to complete my course in less than one hour. The skills check location was professional, clean, organized and everything was clearly labeled. I was sent a few videos with tips for passing the skills check and clear instructions on how to get to the location/suite. Despite there being no instructor, the location feels very safe and there are so many instructions posted that one would know exactly what to do to pass their skills check and in a timely manner. I am very happy with my experience and will be recommending Surefire to others!

They are extremely unorganized and absurdly disrespectful. The director or whoever the fuck she thinks she is talks to you like you below her, little does she know shes as important as an ant that I stepped on the other day. It's actually impossible to communicate with her because she treats you like you had no value. Do not attend this school, future CNA's do not deserve to be treated like this neither do they need to be around this type of toxic energy. PLEASE. DO NOT GO HERE. Besides the horrible staff, they are not on top of their shit and it is so unprofessional.

I cannot recommend SDMC enough…read more I wasn't originally supposed to go to this school for my CNA program. Although I was interested in going here, I picked another program over this one just because it didn't take as long to complete the CNA course and I was kind of in a rush. However, things went horribly wrong at the last minute with the other school (as in, they enrolled me for a weekend class - which would have had me finishing a MONTH after I wanted to, instead of the weekday class without telling me) so I had to enroll at this school at the last minute. Even though it was seemingly inconvenient at the time, I now couldn't be happier that things fell through with that other school because I truly believe this is the best school I - or anyone else for that matter - could go to. I was part of the first inaugurating class at the National City campus and I loved my experience there. We had the pleasure of having three different professors - Ms. Tuba, the owner and complete angel/sweetheart of a human being, Dr. Ray, an actual doctor!, and then Roy, our skills professor (also the resident sweetheart despite the tough exterior). They are all incredible! They DEFINITELY know what they're talking about and truly care about your success not only as a CNA, but as a person as well! They're quick to offer any form of support they can offer you (ex. setting up interviews with places for you, staying to practice skills with you even if they're not paid, explaining something in depth so you understand it, being a reference for you, giving you a list of 240+ practice questions for your written exam, skills videos to look at at home to practice, etc.). They are just AWESOME! I don't think I've ever felt more supported by a place in my entire life, to be honest. My classmates were the absolute sweetest and I felt so fortunate to meet them! There's also a Facebook Group you can join where old and new students help each other out with any questions, let each other know about any job openings, etc.! It's just a great big community that I am so happy and proud to be a part of. Everyone just wants everyone to do well and succeed and it's so awesome! The school itself is really nice too. It is beautifully decorated and you have everything you need and more! Parking might be a slight problem for larger classes (my class had 6 people in it, including me) since the area is shared with other businesses, but I wouldn't worry about it. It could potentially be tricky to snag a spot directly in front of the campus, but there's a large parking lot just around the corner (just drive past Tita's Kitchenette and Island Pacific Supermarket) that has several parking spots available. So worst case scenario, you just have to walk 2-3 minutes over, which isn't a problem in the slightest. I have zero doubts that I will pass my certification exam with ease. I can confidently say that I've received the best education and support here! Register to do your classes here! You will not regret it!

Lisya is incredibly transparent and communicative. If there were ever any delays or barriers, she addressed them immediately and found a solution right away. Her class was knowledgeable, insightful, engaging, and comprehensive. I especially appreciated learning about the three most recent updates since my last BLS training. It was valuable information that I may not have received elsewhere. She also introduced me to an innovative device designed to help choking victims and shared a heartfelt story about training hospice nurses on how to use it. Her passion for education and patient safety really stood out. She highly recommended having one of these devices at home, and I can absolutely see why. It will be some time before I need to renew my certification, but I'm already looking forward to coming back to Lisya for my next renewal. Highly recommend!

My one suggestion would be to provide antibacterial wipes to wipe down the dummies after each participant has their turn.

He is always friendly and willing to help, whether it is fixing or troubleshooting our x-ray machines when something stops working or making sure sterilization is running efficiently so our instruments are always ready when we need them. As students, having that kind of support makes a huge difference, especially on stressful clinic days. I am really appreciative of everything he does for us. Clinic would be a lot more difficult without him and we are very lucky to have him there. I also want to recognize Gabby, who is always so sweet and shows up with a smile on her face no matter what is going on. Whether she is helping import our x-rays or assisting us with getting information for vendors, she is always willing to help and truly is a star in our clinic. Our Junior Clinic Director, Professor Barnett, has been such a steady source of support for the junior class. I genuinely think a lot of us would struggle to stay afloat without her guidance and encouragement. She is honestly one of the kindest people and you can tell she truly cares about all of the students. She supports not only our education, but also our overall wellbeing and mental health, and will go out of her way to make sure we have what we need to succeed. There is no better person for this role and this program is very lucky to have her. All of the faculty have something valuable to offer if you take the time to meet with them during office hours or schedule one on ones. Professor Gray is very knowledgeable in pain control and has a precise system that really helps things click. Professor Golden brings great insight from her experience in a periodontal office. Professors Rudell and Davis are so kind and gentle when providing feedback. Professor Barrs is great at helping you manage situations and giving tools to be more systematic in clinic. Professor Adum is newer but very eager to help and always has such a positive, upbeat attitude. Professor Chebat does an amazing job breaking things down with analogies so you can really understand the material. The doctors are all very encouraging when it comes to radiographs and understand that we all have bad x-ray days. They are always willing to step in and help us make our images diagnostic so we can learn from the experience. Professor Bell is sharp and straight to the point, always giving advice that applies to real world clinical scenarios. Professor Thomas and Professor Coggan both bring a wealth of CDHA knowledge that really helps connect what we are learning in clinic to the bigger picture of our profession. I am also very thankful to the school for the opportunity to attend the CDHA House of Delegates. Director Teel is someone who really keeps things moving forward. She made it possible for us to have our clinic makeover, which has helped us feel more confident in our clinical environment. Student Services is also top notch. They recognize students by name and genuinely care about how we are doing, both in and out of clinic. It always makes my day a little better to see them, especially when I am having a tough day. Overall, I am very grateful to be part of the dental hygiene program and have the opportunity to learn from such a diverse and supportive faculty. Thank you for all the work you do for our clinic.
