In addition, the quality of care and supervision is poor, raising concerns about the emotional well-being and treatment of the children. Harassment, unprofessional conduct, and lack of proper leadership should not be tolerated in a place responsible for caring for kids. I am deeply concerned about the childcare environment and the treatment of children at this center. It appears that children of different races and nationalities, including Black and Hispanic children, may be treated unfairly or discriminated against. The facility is also very dirty, has strong unpleasant odors, and does not appear to be cleaned professionally or maintained properly. Many children seem to get sick frequently, which raises serious concerns about sanitation, health, and safety standards. Management and leadership do not seem to take these issues seriously or make necessary improvements for the well-being of the children.

Stanley is known for being joyful, warm, and child-centered--and it absolutely is. What can be less visible is how intentional and academically strong the education behind that joy is. Our oldest has been the best evidence for us. He transitioned seamlessly to East, placing into advanced math, English, and Spanish and taking honors-level classes. But Stanley prepared him for much more than coursework. He left understanding how he learns, how to advocate for himself, how to take academic risks, and how to make thoughtful decisions about what he needs to be successful. We're seeing that same development with our sixth grader. His teachers know him deeply as a learner. They have worked to understand how he processes information, scaffolded challenging concepts in reading and math, taught him strategies, and partnered with us to help him reach his potential. He has become a confident self-advocate, both academically and socially. And now, in Pre-K, we're seeing where it begins. Our daughter's teachers are calm, loving, and incredibly skilled with this age group. There is joy and play, but also structure and purposeful, age-appropriate learning. She loves going to school. After watching one child complete Stanley and thrive in high school, choosing Stanley again for our youngest was easy. The joy and academic growth aren't competing priorities at Stanley--they reinforce each other. The result is children who are prepared academically and, just as importantly, know themselves as learners.

They talk non-stop about how grateful they are for this school and how transformative it has been for their child. Their child did not like school and did not play with other kids their age - they were timid and frightened. Now their child loves school and is a social butterfly - finding friends in their age group and beyond. There child has complained that they don't want the school year to end because they want to keep going to Havern every day. We are supporters of the school because the love and dedication given to each child is who attends is easy to see. If a child is having challenges, they respond right away by trying different teaching modalities or a different teacher until they find the right fit for that child. I've never seen that kind of responsiveness from a school. Do not let the lack of reviews here fool you - there is a reason families move from other states, cross country, or drive over an hour each way to go to Havern. I think most families, like our friends, are private and want to protect their child's privacy, which is why there are so few reviews here.

I am the oldest girl of 7 and learned much from helping my mother with my brothers and sisters. I have three children of my own and love kids. I know a great learning environment when I see one and this place is a gem! So happy we found it and that our little princess gets to experience this as her first 'school' experience. She will treasure her time at Happy Valley forever.

During our time at Willows - Homestead Learning Center, we witnessed some of the worst examples of…read moreproper childcare in our 3 months of enrollment, as highlighted below: Safety concerns: - Teachers and Director do not properly handle targeted bullying nor even acknowledge major injuries when they occur. Our child was bitten several times, and the bite marks went unnoticed/unreported. - Our son has come home several times with injuries to his head with no explanation from the teachers as to what happened. An example of this is that he hit his head TWICE on the same day and I never received an incident report noting either injury. Lack of oversight over dietary restrictions/food allergies - We observe a vegetarian diet, and our son was served meat products TWICE. Both times were attributed to "miscommunications". Even bringing our own lunch and snacks didn't mitigate the issue. - If our son was served a product that he shouldn't have been TWICE within two months' time, I believe that other children have been served food items that they should not have. Lack of preparation/planning for the day/week: - On our first day, we entered the room to discover that his name was nowhere to be found. When we asked about getting his name displayed around the room to the [former] lead teacher, she stated that she "would do it when she had time". It was only after we brought up our concerns to the Regional Director, Chloe, and Director, DeAnne, that our son's name was included in the room. - Our first month (April), the weekly agenda/theme posted outside the room went unchanged for one month. How does the Director, who works in the same building, not have any idea what each classroom is doing on a weekly basis? Shows a lack of oversight. - The daily agenda posted in the classroom doesn't reflect what the children are doing. To this day, it hasn't been updated in over a month. In the 3 months he has been there, I do not believe that he has learned anything educational. Little to no communication on daily activities: - Willows uses "ProCare" for updates, and we received roughly the following updates: 70% = no daily updates 13% = bulk pictures of all kids 15% = specific photos of your child 2% = specific information for your child's activities - We once went for 3 weeks without any app updates. Lack of Concern and Connection from the Teachers: - If Ms. Bella wasn't in the Yellow classroom and another teacher was covering, our son would be so afraid of them that he wouldn't even express his basic needs to them (i.e. have an accident before he told them that he needed to use the potty). - The covering teachers would never notice his accidents and often he would be in wet clothes when we picked him up and would change him ourselves. - If the Yellow Room teachers were already gone for the day and the kids were playing outside, there was literally no one to ask about how your child's day went. With no app updates and no teachers to communicate with, parents quite literally have no idea what occurred during your child's day. We met with the RD and Director several times to address our concerns about the Yellow Room, but even to our last day, we cannot say that anything ever improved. Over our last few weeks, we saw glimmers of hope and improvement but cannot say that it wouldn't revert to the poorly organized, barely functioning room that it has been in since our arrival.

Our son started when he was 3 years old and the team there has been loving, communicative and flexible. There is a good balance of academics and fun and he has really thrived in their program. Our daughter joined when she was 4 and is now in first grade and she was well equipped for kindergarten, both academically and socially. Mrs. Ferguson, Ms. Roberts and Mr. Powell are amazing with the children. Their summer program has helped both of our children become excellent swimmers. Their instructors are the absolute best. And you can't beat their hours and closure dates. We have loved our experience at Willows.
