Inside is decorated like a 50s diner with record albums hanging from the ceiling, a juke box in the back, cozy booths and tables. Our waitress was wearing a poodle skirt with saddle shoes. My husband and I came to this little dinner on Valentine's Day, I know I know late post but this place was so comfy and relaxing. We came for breakfast it wasn't really busy our server she was very sweet she made sure we were taken care of and enjoyed every bit of our breakfast. This place is great. The service is always very nice and I've never had to wait for a table. Always looks clean and the food comes out fast. Everything there is delicious but surprisingly this is my go to for a grilled chicken salad in the downtown area. It's pretty giant and they use really good fresh lettuce. It's a shredded romaine and iceberg mix. And their homemade ranch is pretty much reason enough to go there. They do breakfast all day and if you're doing a low carb/heavy protein diet they have several things to choose from. And their portions are usually really generous enough to save half for the next day. The prices aren't bad either. It's not super cheap but it's still very affordable and fair. First time here after searching map for "diner" in Midland. The inside is eclectic and has a nice, down home feel. Nice 60s music, not too loud but perfect for the size of the building. The three of us ordered plates with a mixture of omelets and cheeseburger. It was full of other patrons but there was no wait, which surprised me when it took FOREVER to get our food. The staff was friendly but obviously the cooks know nothing about expediting orders, if you choose to go here, make sure it's on a day that you don't have any appointments and I wouldn't dare go for lunch if you only have an hour or so. As I'm typing this we still haven't received our food. Waiting....Had to grab server that wasn't ours to get a refill of coffee. Still waiting....Finally got food and my omelet is delicious with large portions. Hamburger was huge with a lot of fries. Gravy on biscuits was tasty and flavorful. Overall experience is two stars based on the 40 minutes we had to wait for our food, the need to ask for refills and the general waitstaff avoidance. The food was REALLY good. We started off with chips and salsa, they used regular chips.... sort of like Lays which was strange but my boyfriend seemed to enjoy it. We then ordered two breakfast plates (Migas & Huevos Rancheros) the portion was enough to fill a burrito tortilla which comes with the plate. Everything was delicious, the only thing that surprised us was the cost. Two teas, chips and salsa with two breakfast plates cost $38. Leaving a decent tip we walked out spending $48. Once inside we were greeted promptly and were seated. The menu had staple diner fare and also some Tex-mex items as well. There were 5 of us. We ordered a regular hamburger, the Texas Burger, a pork chop breakfast plate, a Chicken fried steak breakfast, and an omelette. Man these burgers were huge. They had great flavor and were served on a ciabatta type bun. We opted for the onion rings as well, and they were great. I had the chicken fried steak breakfast, and it was so big it came on its own plate, and it was really good. The breading was perfect and had just the right amount of seasoning. My breakfast came with breakfast potatoes, refried beans, 2 eggs, and choice of toast or tortilla(we are in Texas). I didn't get to try anything else, but everyone was more than satisfied with our food. The service was great, and our drinks were always topped off before they were empty, and the waitress would come around and make sure we didn't need anything else. This was a pretty bad experience. My Bacon was served to me literally raw... I didn't want to be difficult and I was going to just try and eat around it but it was all raw. I asked the server if she could throw them back on the grill for me and she did. It was much better after that. I ate some of my pancake and wondered why it tasted weird, then I noticed it was also raw.... it was just batter inside. My eggs weren't cooked either, they had the gross, clear, mucus, liquid on them. If they would take their time with cooking the food and cook it all the way, rather than throwing it on the grill for two seconds and plating it, then it would taste so much better. On top of that, they had two young girls popping their heads out of the kitchen door every two minutes and staring at us while we ate. Are they cooking the food? We really enjoyed our brunch here! Food was on point but I think the only less than star was for service. While staff was super super sweet we had several people through out so there was confusion and miss orders. Stuff coming and going back.
