One of my colleagues is from Perth and when I told her my husband and I were doing a day trip to Perth as part of our staycation, she recommended we have lunch at Fieldhouse. I love bakeries, so we followed her recommendation. The place is a lot smaller than I expected. It only has seating for 8 inside (4 tables of 2) and 4 picnic tables outside (so seating for about 16 outside). I got the Chicken and Brie sandwich ($14.75) and added a side salad for my husband and I to share ($5). My husband got the Ham and Swiss sandwich ($14.25) and we also got a cruffin ($5.25) for dessert, but ended up taking it home. Before we left my husband got an Americano to go ($3). I enjoyed my sandwich. The bread was crusty and held the ingredients of the sandwich well. The peppery arugula in the sandwich went well with the chicken and Brie. I was thrilled that the chicken was real roasted chicken breast meat (and not deli meat, lol). The aioli was flavourful but a bit excessive in quantity for my tastes. It dripped onto the plate with every bite, lol. The salad was leaf lettuce, shredded cabbage and carrots. Vegetables were fresh. I asked for the dressing on the side and it came as requested. The dressing was a creamy dressing and on the runny side. I'm glad I asked for it on the side, as I used only about a third of it. I had a bite of my husband's sandwich and it was ok, but I much preferred mine. He liked his better, so it all worked out. His was on a fluffier and softer bread. The ham was deli ham, but it tasted ok. The Swiss cheese was nippy. Service was pleasant. My husband enjoyed his Americano. We had the Brownie Cruffin at home. The pastry was flakey and delicious. The chocolate filling was like a rich chocolate pudding. It was very decadent. Overall we enjoyed our meal, but I found it a bit pricey, but I guess in today's economy, this is what you pay for sandwiches. Street parking only. (125)

Room to sit and eat there if you like. Their "Valley" muffin was a real winner but quite enjoyed their Ham & Cheese and Chocolate Almond croissants too - flaky, buttery goodness.

I dream about this place…read more Our second year coming in late September for a city escape, Flossie's came highly recommended by my buddy who visits often. I'm sad to say that I don't remember what we got last year, just that we loved it. So of course, we had to repeat again this year! And oh man, it did not disappoint. I didn't want to eat with my toddler because I did NOT want to share. I gave him a few fries because he could smell them but there was no chance he was going to touch my sandwich. Hubby got the Texan brisket (special and the last one!) and I got the chicken pesto panini. My wonderful husband offered to do splitsies and ... well, he only got a couple bites. Sadly, because of said toddler and infant in tow, we couldn't eat it there when the fries were fresh so they were a tad sad when we finally sat to eat them. No dock on Flossie's - that's our fault. I'm certain they would have been amazing fresh! All of this to say....if you're in the area or planning a visit, make sure you stop by. You won't be disappointed. Unless they're closed...that's why you need to plan your schedule around their opening hours. A second location is opening in Belleville ... kudos to Flossie's for making their dreams happen! Sorry for not taking a picture of our sandwiches. Like I said, I couldn't wait. It was very much a GET IN MY BELLY moment.

Flossie offers a wide fare of fantastic sandwiches and burgers. Their impressive outdoor seating…read moreand decor coupled with great food will give you a 5/5 PEC experience. First things first, their menu is mostly pictures so it would be good to ask about ingredients if you have any food intolerances. There may also be off menu items so feel free to ask their pleasant staff. Most of the items don't have prices but it's generally around $20 pretax. It's a bit pricier than expected but the food and environment makes up for it. We tried a few of their sandwiches and they were all juicy and flavourful in their own way. It's all packed with a healthy combination of high quality ingredients. The burger was cooked to a nice juicy medium rare, and the sandwich breads were toasted perfectly. You have the choice of the usual sides, but the coleslaw definitely stands out with a creamy and sweet but well balanced profile. The outdoor seating is an absolute boon for a spring/summer PEC visit. Enjoy the shade and the gentle breeze as you bite into your juicy sandwich!
