Deeeeeeelicious! I only had 1/2 hour for lunch yesterday and came in for a quick sandwich. The place was very busy, people coming in and out and sitting in the kitschy decorated restaurant. There was a HUGE variety of sandwiches - from breakfast style, vegetarian, classics and unique concoctions. I selected the Mac Attack, which is their version of a big mac. It was amazing! I loved the pita/bun they used, and the grilled chunks of roast beef were delicious. There was a really good vegetable to meat ratio. The sandwich left me full for the whole afternoon and then some. Less than $12 for the sandwich, water, tax and tip. The staff were quick and friendly! read more

I am always in the market for good lunch spots, and this is one I will be back to. It was my first time to Peterborough the other day and I was shakey-hand starving and looking for something edible. Being a good Ukie girl, when I walked in and saw that borscht was the soup of the day, I knew I'd found the place. The sandwich selection is up on the wall behind the counter in chalk, and the counter is full of tasty looking salads. Lots of great options and they allow you to deviate a little, if youre not wild about peppers for example. I settled on a California club, borscht, and coffee. Came to just over $10. The sandwich was spectacular, and enormous. I had to take half to go. The soup was pretty delish too, though a little different from any way I've had it before. More black pepper, less tomatoey than I usually do but no less tasty and I'll chalk it up to regional variations. Finally, and perhaps most crucially, the coffee was good. Many lunch spots have done well in other areas, but failed the coffee test. Not this one. A+. See you next time I'm in town. read more

This place has an awesome menu of creative, fresh deli creations with some spectacular side dishes like borscht and pierogis. I love this place and its food. I have celiac disease and therefore cant have gluten. I enjoy a sandwichs here but every once in a while I will get sick and I know staff are cautious about what foods are ok but cross contamination is definitely an issue especially at busy times in the small restaurant. Great food just as someone with food allergies you kinda chance it. read more

On our way back to the states from the CHE hockey camp, we stopped to pick up some food. The pulled pork and the brisket sandwiches were phenomenal. They smoke their own meat and really pile it on. The homemade macaroni salad was the best I ever had. I highly recommend Sam's Place Deli. It's Top notch! read more

Almost 15 bucks for a sandwich and can of pop ! Noooo sandwich is worth that. And when the smoked meat was like chewing on elastic bands and the pressed sandwich was heated to a sloppy mess, it isn't worth five ! Long waits when busy, gourmet prices, and (not even) food truck quality. read more

Not only were our sandwiches delicious and indulgent we appreciated that they seek locally sourced meats that they process in house Also the service (& other customers) were very helpful accomodating our wheel-chair bound father. Unfortunately the passage to the bathroom was too narrow for a wheelchair. That aside the only way the place could be better would be if they had a license to serve beer. read more
