Two days later, they changed the price again to $2,700. The next day, they said they would give me a 10% "first-time discount" and finally charged me $2,500. All of this was for just fixing the AC. To make it worse, they broke my front bumper in the process. When I asked them to fix it, they didn't take responsibility--instead, they called the police on me. The owner was very rude and unprofessional. I strongly believe they took advantage of me because I am a refugee and not fluent in English. This place is dishonest and abusive. I regret ever trusting them and will make sure no one else from my community makes the same mistake.

I received my inspection report within a few hours, and I am so so happy I did this! This was the most in depth, thorough prepurchase inspection I have ever gotten. My suspicions were right on with the vehicle. At 120,000 miles, I saw that the Carfax didn't mention any maintenance or service past the 100,000 mile mark, BIG red flag! At that mileage there's much that needs to be done...timing belt, all fluids flushed, possible water pump, gaskets, shocks/struts, etc. None of that had been done to this car, resulting in needing a timing belt replacement (I thought I heard the faint sound of it being worn out when I test drove it), shocks/struts, gasket leaks, and a new alternator, to the tune of around $7,000. Oh, and the kicker was they found that there were several diagnostic codes that were recently cleared. Hmmm, wonder who cleared those? Needless to say, I did not purchase this vehicle. I did inform the dealership that was selling it of the issues, and as you can imagine, they didn't care and said that Christian Bros was making stuff up so they could sell me more services. Um, you're also trying to sell me something and it smells like lemons! Christian Bros has never let me down, and I've never done business with you. BTW- we live in Ankeny and Christian Bros has been our go to for honest, reliable car repairs. I will continue looking and will always bring my cars to them, they are the best! After about a mile I stopped at a stoplight, the vehicle started vibrating heavily when idling as well as making a deep grinding/moaning noise, and the steering wheel began vibrating as well. I explained exactly what was happening and was told that replacing an alternator would not cause those symptoms and rather than inspecting the vehicle or addressing my concerns, I was told to take it somewhere else. I then drove directly to Bob Brown Chevrolet, where I was informed that there was definitely something wrong with the vehicle, although they were unable to perform a full diagnosis until a later appointment. My vehicle was operating normally before the alternator replacement and developed severe vibration and grinding noises immediately afterward. am extremely disappointed with how my concerns were handled. When a customer returns within minutes of a repair reporting a serious issue, I would expect the shop to investigate rather than dismiss the complaint. I will update this review once I receive the dealership's diagnosis and repair findings. The Following is what AI told me when I put in my exact symptoms: "Your new alternator or its installation has a major issue. A loose mounting bolt, a misaligned or over-tightened serpentine belt, a bad pulley, or a defective new part is causing the severe vibration and grinding noise when you stop. Stop driving the car immediately to prevent damage or a breakdown. What to Check Right Now The Belt: The serpentine belt may be slipping, misaligned on the new pulley, or riding off-track. The Bolts: The mechanic might have left an alternator mounting bolt loose, causing the whole unit to shake against the engine block The Pulley: A defective or incorrect pulley on the new alternator can grind or bind up." Call the shop that installed the part right away. Tell them the car vibrates and grinds only after they replaced the alternator. Ask them to tow the car or fix it under their workmanship warranty. Do not drive it back if the grinding is severe" I will see them in court for the cost to fix their incompetent sloppy work and the stupidity not to know the systems of an alternator install issue and letting me drive the car to possibly cause damage to my car.

Their shuttle was very helpful in getting me to and from my office. The lady who helped was very nice, and Joe, who also helped me, understood the custom alignment I was going for. When I picked up the truck from them, I noticed they even aired up my tires which were low before. Overall, I had a great experience with this shop, and the crew there are professional and courteous.
