The school has prepared them for life with strong academic skills and a strong set of Christian values. The facilities are above par, super clean and constantly being updated. The classrooms are equipped with Smart Boards and the classroom materials are current. The middle school operates on a "one to one" lap top program. The teachers and staff are caring and get to know each child as an individual. My children have completely different learning styles and personalities. They both love their school and each has been accommodated with their learning styles in the classroom. Lots of activities are offered outside of the classroom. A great after school sports program, dance classes, music lessons, tutoring, are just a few of the things that are offered. The principal is amazing and has made great strides in keeping St. John's one of the best schools in the area by improving curriculum and overall student growth. As a parent I feel the investment that I have made in my child's education at St. John's is one of the best decisions I have made. I feel they are safe, cared for and they are receiving a superior education in a prestigious school setting.

Many day cares just seemed like drop off places with not much structured activities while preschools really emphasized their curriculum. We chose to take the preschool route. We also wanted our son to learn a new language and French was a great choice based on his heritage and we love the French culture. We visited the school back in February and Tiphaine and the rest of the staff was fantastic. We had a lot of questions and they really spent the time to walk us through everything. We got a really nice preview of the schools's warm culture. Our son has now been in preschool for the past month and it's been amazing to see him grow, learn French, make new friends, and we can see he is happy and excited to go everyday. PROS: - small teacher to students ratio - friendly community - engaged PA with bunch of events (some virtuals for busy parents and some F2F in the evenings) - caring staff with a new head (Frederique) - designed curriculum - after school activities (sports, yoga, spanish) - early and late drop off / day care options CONS: - tuition is on the high side (monthly installments as an option). But the cost is well worth it and we are just very impressed so far with everything. So glad we have found this schooo!!

Calvary is deeply rooted in Christian values, and you truly see those values lived out daily through the way teachers care for students and how the community supports one another. One of the things we love most is the strong sense of community. Families are welcoming, and there are many opportunities for parent involvement, which makes you feel connected to your child's education. We strongly believe parent involvement plays a huge role in shaping our children's future. The school also offers many field trips and hands-on learning experiences that keep students excited and engaged. The teachers are experienced, caring, and genuinely invested in each child's growth--academically, spiritually, and socially. With over 50 years of history, the school has a strong foundation and clear mission. We also appreciate the diverse student body and the emphasis on mission opportunities. Academically, we love the focus on spelling bees, speech meets, and foreign language instruction starting in first grade. We couldn't be happier with our experience!

Academics are prioritized but not to an extent which is stressful or anxiety-provoking for students. Oakridge continually scores in the top 10% nationally on standardized testing, but this isn't surprising given Oakridge's extraordinary and passionate teachers. Perhaps what I love MOST about Oakridge (and what sets them apart from other schools) is the religious flexibility, inclusivity and emphasis on character development. Character development is part of the curriculum for all students, with the option for families to incorporate Judeo-Christian Bible study if so desired. Our family is a mix of backgrounds and religions which makes this flexibility so incredibly special and one of a kind. Oakridge genuinely celebrates all cultures and faiths and provides a welcoming, safe and judgement-free space for its students. My daughter is challenged to excel, supported as an individual, and encouraged to be thoughtful, confident, and kind. We feel incredibly fortunate to be part of such a special school community.

I thought it had a health office and health…read morestaff (I'm not even asking for an RN, just a health staff member), just like other schools. All Irvine public schools have health rooms and health staff on campus. Stupid me -- I assumed that at the very least this so-called private school would have such a fundamental facility and staff. But no. Today I found out there's no health office and no sick room where a child can at least lie down for a while until a parent arrives. I'm in shock. What kind of risky, scammy school have I put my child into for the past 3 years? This campus just spent a lot of money on expansion and also raised tuition fees. It's ridiculous to find out that behind all those price increases and fancy upgrades, no one seems to care about students' health -- and none of that money appears to have gone toward improving health support for the kids. No health office. Not even one health staff member. Not even a sick room for students to rest. -- In response to your reply: Thank you for reminding me -- although your non-medical staff determined (since there is no health clerk or school nurse on campus) that "it's better to remain in an upright position in a chair, while ensuring attentive care and comfort," when I arrived, my pale six-year-old child was kneeling on the ground, coloring on a piece of paper and using a wooden bench next to the reception desk as a flat surface. There is no health clerk. The temporary reception teacher was busy with her own duties. I did not see any "assured attentive care and comfort." Instead, I observed teachers who appeared reluctant to be involved, likely because without a designated health staff member, temporarily caring for a sick child simply adds to their already full workload. Where is the "bed" or the "attentive care and comfort" you mentioned? All I saw was a small, cold wooden bench near the reception area, with people walking around. Considering the level of tuition families pay, our children deserve more than this. Three different staff members confirmed to me yesterday that there is no bed available for a sick student. Therefore, the only way I was able to learn that such an option supposedly exists was through a Yelp review. Reality is reality. Parents, please do your research before sending your child to a so-called private school: * Is there a health room or a designated sick resting area -- like those available in Orange County public schools? * Is there a school health clerk available on campus -- as in Orange County public schools? * Do teachers even know whether the so-called "bed for sick students" actually exists? Despite the amount of money families invest in a private school that lacks even fundamental health support, it is worth considering whether the absence of a basic health office or a health clerk could place students at greater risk in certain situations.

I hope by now they have a better play ground for the kids for it looked old/worn out when my son attended. Also where we placed the back packs in the morning it was dirty. It was also in need of a better gardening in the area where the kids would play. There was a bunch of leafs and mud everywhere. Maybe add sand or grass in that area.
