This was strangely painless. You can check wait times online and see what you're in store for. The listed wait time was 14 minutes and I think I only really waited for 8 minutes. I needed to have my vehicle checked out as I had done an engine swap. 1st time through I passed all the equipment checks but not the emissions test itself. After making repairs I returned and this time everything worked perfect. Both times I was fortunate enough to deal with Rob. Rob is exceptional! Very knowledgeable and extremely easy to talk to. it is normally not like me to give a good rating on anything that is associated with the DMV but this is definitely an exception. They have a new tool that you can few current wait times at any emission location which makes going and scheduling time to do so, SO much easier. I was able to run on my lunch break and i was in and out of there in less than 10 minutes. The current wait time when i left my job was 2 minutes and that was how long i waited to get my testing done. YAY for something done correctly and in a organized manner with the DMV. read more

I just showed up at 335p on a Monday w/2 cars ahead of me, & including testing- I was on my way 9 min later! The technician was friendly, efficient, & even took time to answer a couple questions. For something nobody likes having to do, it was painless. The most inconvenient part of the whole thing was the traffic on my way there :) PS- I think it's stupid that in AZ my 2009 vehicle w/28k miles on it needs to be tested every 2yrs at $20 a pop. What would make a Emission testing station lose stars would be if it took forever or cost more than expected. This is a little off the beaten path, but located miles away from my work and I was able to get there in the morning and went right through. The OBD only lane 1 was closed when I went. I got in the lane to the right of lane 1 (lane 2?). There were three cars in front of me. The online wait time (cool feature) showed 10 minutes. That's exactly how long it took for the three cars in front of me. So I was in and out in less than 20 minutes from the time I arrived (actually, I didn't time it, but that's about right). read more

This is a great location. It's kind hidden and there is not a lot of wait time. I was in and out in 15 minutes. It's so fast once you get in the testing zone, they were done and I was like "that'sit!" By the way, I have a Hybrid car and thought is was bogus the MVD made me get emissions this year. read more

I work for a dealership and sometimes have to bring cars down for an emissions test. No one ever visits the emissions testing station for FUN, but despite that, the staff has always been courteous and pleasant with me. Their website has current images and wait times, which can be beneficial, unless a crowd of people show up between the time I leave the office and get there. I've been to a few stations in the valley, and this one seems to be my favorite - if that's even possible. read more

Now that my cars are getting older, emissions testing has become a semi-regular thing. This is the only place I will go. The staff is pretty friendly, and the wait times are generally small. I also genuinely appreciate that the facilities are open until 7 p.m. I second the recommend for the myazcar website, it will tell you what the current wait time is. Different experience this time. Ran over after work and forgot my wallet. Was .50 short from glove box change, Tough luck. Come by the next night and the supervisor, was a guy this time, tells me car failed and I will need to have a bunch of work done. I asked was it not just a gas cap? This is a Lexus with 30k although it's a 2005. Took it to a shop who changed the gas cap and reset the error code. Went back for testing and the same supervisor stopped what he was doing to come over to test me. He asked if I took it to a shop, he was very suspicious of me. Tested it and was not happy it passed, kept trying like I was pulling something over on him. Begrudgingly he handed me the passed certificate. read more

The employees specifically working the waiver lane treat you like you're a criminal for not passing and show zero respect or concern when asking them simple questions when comes to asking for advice on how to fix an issue. It's possibly the worst customer service experience I've ever had, and I'm not easily bothered. Each time I've came back to get it re-tested, they acted even worse towards me with more attitude, as if they were the ones who just spent hundreds on their vehicle just to not have it pass AGAIN. And for the record, I was nothing but pleasant to them, even tried the "Kill them with kindness" approach when they were at their worst, and still zero decency in return. read more

If you own an older car or a foreign car or a classic car - STAY AWAY FROM THIS STATION! They have no idea what they are doing. They are apparently very untrained and/or can not read the manual that is used to verify the emissions requirements for a specific car. Even a 2nd opinion by a man that appeared to be the supervisor looked at the book, looked at the car, shrugged his shoulders and hit failed. You will find yourself heading for a waiver station to overturn what this station failed you for. They should refund the testing fee for pain and suffering and their lack of intelligence. Here is the other scary thing about to happen, effective 7/1/2014, ADOT is listing this facility as a new Waiver/Referee station. Are they kidding! they had better re-staff this place by 6/30 !! Oh forgot to mention, my older car does not have the 100,000 tumbler on the odometer. COULD NOT READ THE MILEAGE WITHOUT IT! I had my car tested July 31st...They said I failed the OBD connection...I took it to C and R in Anthem...It was fine...Took it to Deer Vally...PASSED...Called emissions...Told them I was upset it was not done correctly...I asked them who is responsible for the wasted gas...C and R bill..and my time...They said nobody...Boy they sure do not let you drive when you do not pass....This emission thing is so stupid....Just another way to get our money...They need to get rid of it...Upset in Anthem read more

First time visiting this facility. Went there around 4pm on a Thursday afternoon. Only 1 lane open, Lane 2 to be exact. There were about 4 cars in front of me. Few minutes after I arrived there, they opened up Lanes 1 & 3. I got lucky and was pointed to Lane 1. Fifth car in Lane 2 and was the first car getting into Lane 1. Took about 10 minutes to get everything settle and out of the site. Wished they would just open up all 3 lanes in the beginning so people wouldn't have to wait in line for long. The cost for the emission was $27.75 for 2 years. I believe that Tucson residents get charged less. Check the ADEQ site before you go so you can find out how long you will be waiting. read more

I worked in the car Business for 35 years--The emissions testing is a scam! If you have a late model car and the CHECK ENGINE light is not on-You pass the Emissions! Dont be fooled! If you are leaking fuel vapors or one of the 02 sensors arent working or the veh is running too lean or rich--THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL POP ON and you know right there that--You have a problem! LIGHT OUT AZ is steeling money from you! It amazes me out here you can drive with bald tires bad front ends and cars that are Dangerous on the road-because of no State inspections and no safely inspections--But they have you run to the emissions station Bogus at best!! read more
