Every day, a portion was set aside where I just sat on the deck or in the jacuzzi & stared at Whiteface Mountain. The view could not be beat in my opinion....until we actually went up to the peak of Whiteface Mountain! Wow!!!! A humbling experience & even though it terrified me, my family loved it & we were blown away by it's majesty. Hiking trails are nearby & the quaint village of Wilmington is only a 3 minute drive. As is Adirondack Chocolates! We came to commemorate the 1 year anniversary of my husband's passing. When ever my husband & I traveled, one thing we did was find a chocolatier & he would spoil me! So to discover this tiny town has one where the truffles are made on site was so special for me. They so have so many unique gifts & the BEST hoodies in their gift shop Our hosts, Judi & Aseem, were simply wonderful. They called to greet us the day we arrived. I mentioned the tiny liquor store was closed, so we were unable to purchase a bottle of wine to toast my husband. They came by the next day with two bottles from their private stock & we had a lovely conversation. Simply delightful, & gracious hosts. Truly touched my heart. So, if you have a large group who loves breathtaking sunsets, a beachfront right out your door, the historic "Eddie's Restaurant" and popular "Pizza King" within thirty seconds walking distance from you as well as an amusement park the little ones will go crazy over (and that's only a hop, skip and a jump away), this place may be perfect for you. Agent…read morePeter Kroll and managing broker/agent PJ Whitbeck have been absolutely dreadful to work with. From the minute we signed our listing agreement over two months ago we have consistently been experiencing great mistreatment, deplorable and unethical customer service, conducted with total unprofessionalism. They seem to have their own agendas, as we have never been treated with any respect or felt heard or valued as a client. They have refused or ignored all of our simple requests, including being added to MLS alerts for showing requests, and feel like we have been kept in the complete dark, with them seemingly telling us only what they wanted us to know. We have not felt seen or heard at any stage of this nightmare and they have dodged and deflected our questions and concerns at every turn. They have not responded to us in a timely manor and they do not keep their word when they say they will do things. Our listing is still lacking in specifics and riddled with incorrect and misleading information after two months! They continue to leave it uncorrected and have done nothing apart from posting our property to the MLS and their website to market it - they didn't even offer us a lock box but had 4 keys made, or put up a for sale street sign. We can't understand their erratic and nonchalant behavior as the market is hungry for properties while the area is lacking them and they currently have very few listings and sales. Their website has their recent stats - check them out! They've even had to close one of their offices (Lake Placid) last month. We are utterly baffled as to why they would treat my 86-year-old mother and I in this deplorable fashion. Regardless of our listing being incomplete and incorrect, we had over a thousand views and a hundred saves on MLS and no showings. We have asked several times to be released from the listing agreement in the last few weeks but have been denied every time, without any apology or effort to make things right with us. After our most recent demand to be released, eerily all of a sudden requests for showings started to "miraculously" come in, meanwhile we received none of the notifications ourselves and were only notified via email from PJ Whitbeck. We have refused any showings because we do not want them to have anything to do with selling our property and have officially fired them this week, though they have not released us from our agreement or responded in any way as of posting this. We have made multiple complaints and appeals to Coldwell Banker National to help us and they are seemingly unable (or unwilling) to resolve complaints for franchisees. This is deeply upsetting on top of everything else as we initially chose this realtor because they were affiliated with Coldwell Banker and felt we could trust them! If I could still post this with a negative star I would have!! Be wise and stay as far away from this agency as you can!!

It has been two months and they have yet to return my $500 security deposit. Thus far my calls/emails go unanswered and they offer no explanation. Since I paid the security deposit with a check I have no recourse through the credit card company because I did receive the rental service. I rented from them before and did not experience this issue. I was also happy with the current services and would consider renting from them again but I would protect myself by charging for everything. Bottom line I expect more professionalism from a business represented through Coldwell Banker.

Whether you're skiing at nearby Gore Mountain or whitewater rafting on the Hudson, returning to a nice warm condo to relax with a cold beer is a huge comfort. When we have a big group for skiing, I always try to get the 4 bedroom units, but there are only 2 of them, so the earlier you book the better. They're not true 4BR because they are really 2 units with 3+1BR with an adjoining door and 2 entrances. The unit rental rate is pricey, but that's to be expected on a holiday weekend during ski season. On the plus side, you have 2 living rooms, 2 kitchens and 3 1/2 baths which makes a big difference when you're cooking dinner or trying to get everybody ready to go out to the slopes in the morning. Both units also have gas outdoor grills if you want to throw on some steaks after a long day on the slopes. Just be sure to put on all your ski gear if you're manning the grill and it's 0 degrees when the sun goes down. The office and clubhouse building is only a short walk away. Some of the individual units have WiFi if the owner is nice enough to have it installed, but it's available in the clubhouse if you really need it. There is also a swimming pool, foosball, billiards and table tennis. The office even sells discount lift tickets for Gore if you want to save a couple of bucks off the mountain price.

You could drive, but there is also a shuttle. The price for the two bedroom town house was not cheap, but the comfort factor made up for it. It has a full kitchen, with lots of dishes, cooking utensils , pots and pans. Even a blender! Anything you can dream of, with more than enough serveware which was nice. There's also a dishwasher which made life easier. Living, dining and kitchen were open concept, large dining table and a flat screen tv. Upstairs were two bedrooms , the master with ensuite and shared hot tub. I was surprised how clean the place was, everything was spotless and seemed like it was left just for us. No one bugged us for the three days we were there which was nice, but you could have requested a change of sheets, more towels if you wanted to. The office down the way, had a pool and maps and thing but we didn't use any of them. The only 2 complaints was that they couldn't give us the Wifi password and seemed to be only available in the office ( a huge downer for us roaming canadians) and for some reason we couldn't regulate the temperature consistently (either too hot or too cold) Otherwise the stay was really enjoyable, and couldn't have asked for more in accommodations. For those that dont feel like skiing, North Creek town about 5 mins away has a great bakery and antique shop!
