The workers are non-local and brought in from all over the world. Since there are no ties to the community, they don't care about guest satisfaction. Barely any of the activities offered in the campground are available due to staff shortage. Our cabin, which was allegedly cleaned was in fact dirty. The bathrooms are old, in poor condition, and dirty. There was also no toilet paper for almost a full day. Contrary to what is put out there on their site, the water park will close if the smoke from Canadian wildfires is strong enough. You'll get refunded for tickets if that's the case, but not your trip unless you complain a lot in person and online. The general store is overpriced, go two miles down the road to the actual store. Get firewood elsewhere as their stuff should be classified as kindling and not firewood. For the price they charge per bundle you'd think you were burning rosewood. The laundry facilities are all out of order, and the public kitchens are unclean as well. The bed pads are about an inch thick for the bigger beds, 3 inches for the bunks. Even if I got a cottage next time I'd still bring tons of cleaning supplies. If you really are intent on the stay and play package. Go to the waters edge inn. Same owner but way better experience.

Our family has been vacationing in the Adirondacks for over 60 years. We have spent the past 25…read moreyears at the Fulton House and have never failed to have a wonderful, relaxing time. We have stayed in every house on the property, each of them inviting in their own way. All of the cottages have been clean, well furnished and comfortable. There have been a few problems over the years, but the owners have always addressed our concerns in a timely, satisfactory manner without question or complaint. We have always had the choice to rent elsewhere, but we have returned year-after-year to the Fulton House because of its simple, down-to-earth charm and warmth. If you're looking for The Four Season, then you should look elsewhere. If your looking for a genuine Adirondack experience, then you will find the Fulton House a great place to relax and recharge.

Now I'm wondering why I got charged a resort fee when this is not a resort. They advertise all these great TV channels but I can't even find MNF. No microwave. That's like a basic thing. I've got a mini fridge though. And apparently they never heard of ADA compliance. Why sure I'll hobble my ass up a flight of stairs with a 50lb suitcase. No dresser. Guess I'll live out of my suitcase this week. Can't find the thermostat. I have half a mind to call the property manager up. But it's 0100 and I'm feeling generous. The only place to put my laptop has no outlets available nearby. I've had to run the cord halfway across the room to connect to a 4-outlet adapter that is glued to a nightstand for some reason. So that the nightstand with a table lamp sits in the middle of the room also.

We checked in virtually and took a walk around the place and went into the "Lean In" intending to get dinner and a drink. The waitress rudely proceeded to say that we were not welcome and didn't belong at the table, that it was saved for other people who had been waiting. There were several open tables, no hostess check-ins or reserved table signs so we had no idea of whatever system she was referring to. She proceeded to complain to who looked like the manager of the place. Totally gave off vibes that we were not welcome here even though we were booked into the Honeymoon cabin, and not an outsider just coming here for a bite. The waitress could learn some manners and be nicer to customers. The manager should take a crash course in a customer service class. Even though we are here for two more days, we're sticking to our plan, but I don't think we are coming back after the poor start to our experience here.

The sites are huge and well spaced out. They are pretty level and more of a sandy/dirt surface. Perfect and plenty of space for a camper. There are a sufficient amount of bathrooms spaced out. There is only one building with 4 showers for women and 4 for men. They had great water pressure. They were HOT as can be! There is a timer button in the outer area that you push that turns on the water. You can't control the temp or on/off. You can run generators from 9-11am and 4-7pm. It is very shady in there. Mid-day at our site, you almost felt like it was getting dark out already. There is a beach that the lifeguard chair clearly had not been moved this year. There is nothing to occupy the kids, such as a playground, rec center, etc... The mosquitos were insane! Maybe it was because there was very little meat - there were only 2 other campers on our huge loop. If there was power, I think we would be more likely to return. Without the power and activities for the kids, if in the area again, we would seek someplace else out.

I stayed here for one night in early July while hiking in the region. $20 per night (plus a $9 reservation fee) might be a little steep compared to other states, but it gets you clean restrooms, free showers, and a large site with a picnic table, fire pit, and bear locker. Yes, I said bear locker. They make you sign a form saying you won't leave food out for the bears when you check in. When I say the site was big, I mean it. Easily space for 2 cars, a decent-sized trailer, and 2 tents on the site and you'd still have room to walk around. My 2-person tent and small car made the place feel empty. Potable water was on the other side of the access road and toilets a short walk away. A wooded buffer space of 20 or so feet separated adjacent campsites, so it didn't feel like anybody was encroaching on my space. No cell service, so I could truly disconnect. The missing star is for a few things. One, the slightly-high price, which admittedly is far cheaper than most other lodging in the region. Two, the only thing sold at the campground is ice, so make sure to buy your firewood and other supplies before you arrive. I don't care about this myself, but if you want utility hookups for a trailer, they don't exist here.

When we were seated they let us know they were short staffed due to several issues, so our expectations were not super high. Having said that - our server, the lone sever on this particular evening did a great job. Our food was very good. Nice portions and tasty.
