We did the rail bikes. It definitely was a workout. You can go as fast or slow as you like. This is not a loop, it's straight and you come back the same way. It's very quiet out there and chances to see wildlife. Good for all ages.

We were so excited about taking a train trip in the Adirondacks, our car was long to get to Thendera, New York, we bought our tickets a month and a half ago, everything went smoothly until we started to go down the tracks, one if the volunteers an older nice lady, she played one if her friends CDs that they recorded about the Adirondacks trains, it was horrible, I give them A plus for trying, she played it loud, over and over, then she told us about dr webb and how he had the train tracks built to get to his cabin because his wife didn't want to take a coach because it took her 7 days to get there, which I get, okay, I don't mind the history of it but we heard it three times, I think the volunteer did know she had already spoke to us Then the scenery, there was no scenery, the trees are growing up to the track so you couldn't see any scenery. By the time the hour and half went by, I was ready to leap off a moving train, couldn't wait to to get off. I'm guessing I will not go back. I do not want to be negative, but I do recommend it for children five and under I wouldn't recommend it t o any adults unless you have little kids and then they love the train trip. It was heartbreaking that'll we traveled that far to get on that train trip, it was totally disappointing, PS, I did hear polar express is wonderful, but im afraid to go.

I have been on the other railroads and this one was very very good- our conductor had lots of historical information- the rr consisted of four cars that were very cool - plus a baggage car so you could get fresh air. One of the passenger cars had full blast A/C for a hot day. Really enjoyed this ride and hop e to do it again!!!!

Wonderful meal! We had dinner on busy Labor Day weekend and…read moreit was just great. Two of us had the sirloin with garlic mashed for one, house made vadalia onions for other, both with bourbon sautéed apples that were outstanding Third person had high grade sashimi tuna with mango chutney All of us greatly enjoyed Yes, not fast as covid slow down impacts staffing But owners are there and we were treated very well Highly recommend!

Very disappointed and will not be going back…read more Where to start. Slow. Incredibly, incredibly, slow. Which might not be bad if there was even one iota of attention paid to the table. When we asked what the soup of the day was, the response was "I don't know." Also, the waitress was unaware that appetizers, soups, and salads come before the meal. Not sure that the waitress is to blame, as it was her 4th day on the job. Perhaps fifth. She couldn't remember. Either way nobody seem to be around for her to ask and nobody seem to care about her. On to the food. The menu listed many items that weren't an available including their "famous"Thendara ribeye, the short ribs and grits, maybe the chicken? Hmm. So we got through dinner, and she asked if we like dessert. We asked, "what do you have for dessert?" And she said, ice cream and milkshakes. I think they had other stuff but she could only do ice cream. And what's super cool is that apparently their ice cream came in "colors". Normally it would be "flavors", but at this place it's colors -you can get blue, red or brown. We went for the red and the brown figuring it would be strawberry and chocolate. How to describe the chocolate ice cream. It was soft serve with chocolate lines throughout - however it was actually more like a bowl of soup with a teeny teeny dot of ice cream in the middle. We did ask if she'd mind getting a different bowl and she mentioned that it was the first one out of the softserve machine so maybe that's why it was soupy. So, to make a long review short. pass this one by the next time you're in Old Forge.
