Every day, a portion was set aside where I just sat on the deck or in the jacuzzi & stared at Whiteface Mountain. The view could not be beat in my opinion....until we actually went up to the peak of Whiteface Mountain! Wow!!!! A humbling experience & even though it terrified me, my family loved it & we were blown away by it's majesty. Hiking trails are nearby & the quaint village of Wilmington is only a 3 minute drive. As is Adirondack Chocolates! We came to commemorate the 1 year anniversary of my husband's passing. When ever my husband & I traveled, one thing we did was find a chocolatier & he would spoil me! So to discover this tiny town has one where the truffles are made on site was so special for me. They so have so many unique gifts & the BEST hoodies in their gift shop Our hosts, Judi & Aseem, were simply wonderful. They called to greet us the day we arrived. I mentioned the tiny liquor store was closed, so we were unable to purchase a bottle of wine to toast my husband. They came by the next day with two bottles from their private stock & we had a lovely conversation. Simply delightful, & gracious hosts. Truly touched my heart. Our son (13) had the weekend off from camp in the area so we seized the opportunity. We arrived early and were met with friendly confident guides who helped outfit us for a cool morning out on the river. They literally have any and all the gear you could possibly want or need. Booties for those who thought flip-flops were a good idea, Neoprene jackets for those of us who run cold, the mandatory helmets, life jackets in every size, waterproof baggies for the guy who could not release his phone for the day and literally everything.. We loaded up on to small school buses - save your jokes - and then off loaded at our entry point. There we were given an exceptionally thorough safety talk by Jay. This team obviously get all kinds of customers.. Then we were off on our 6.5hr adventure. Lunch was delicious and very appreciated as a vegetarian. The southwest wrap was really exceptional.. we are going to try and recreate it here at home. The peanut butter wrap was a huge hit with my son, he had three. Our guide Kevin, who was freelancing for the day, was great. He gave us a steady, but unobtrusive flow of information about the river and the area. We wish him well in his travels! Tips: Wear clothes that can get wet.. and dry quickly. Shoes should be more in the Keen/water shoe family than sneakers - for the love of Pete leave the flip-flops at home Sun Block! and bring some with you to replenish after lunch. The guides have waterproof bags that travel in the boat with you. Drink water along the way! The guides are carrying 10gallons with them .. take advantage of it. Leave your phone in the car - there is no service out there anyway - you can buy pictures at the end HAVE FUN!

we were a group of college students who had unexpectedly found ourselves without a place for the…read moresemester. first, they allowed multiple groups to put down deposits and sign leases for the same apartment and determined who got it by when our banks transferred the full amount first. completely out of our control. one person in my group's bank didn't get the full deposit in until MINUTES after the other group so we did not get the apartment even after signing leases and sending a deposit. carolena, the agent we had been working with, offered to keep our deposit and help find us another place to put it towards. we thought this would be easier than continuing to look by ourselves. instead of working for us or trying to help us, she was clearly working for the landlord's interests. he kept changing his demands, such as raising the price, and she did nothing. he refused to sign the lease even though we had signed until we had bent to his will. after being backed into a corner, we signed. the apartment was far overpriced, and had no amenities that they had promised on the site (which they conveniently removed from the listing right before we signed). the landlord was incredibly disrespectful and AGAIN changed his terms up until move in, when he demanded we change our move in time despite us having class the next day and the move in time being on our lease. carolena was negligent and went MIA on this day, allowing the landlord to step all over us and even insult us over the phone and threaten to not allow us to move in at all, regardless of our contract. not to mention we discovered the landlord's employee (who also worked for the motel) entering our apartment without warning or even knocking, including in the middle of the night! i wouldnt recommend track rental or 114 hamilton street to my worst enemy. it was the worst rental experience.

The well at the cottage was bone dry and we had very little to no water for our stay. We were forced to conserve water and to fill the toilet with buckets of water from the lake. We could not shower and were forced to use the public restroom in town on several occasions. Elise refunded a mere $200 for our inconvenience which was completely unacceptable. I was not trying to be greedy in any way. I believe that refunding half of our rental cost would have been fair. I have tried contacting Elise with no response. Completely unprofessional.
