I came here to stay for my honeymoon and we had a great experience. The lodges were off the main road and you have to drive into the parking lot to get to your lodge. I had a lodge 16 which gave me a great view of Lake George and the lodge was amazing. It had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, laundry room & grill outside. The staff was very nice and helpful. The only thing is they dont provide toiletries like shampoo and body wash. The view of lake george is beautiful and I would definitely return. read more

The place is beautiful, with plenty to do, especially in the summer. One of the nicest hot tubs I've ever seen. I only wish that the bed was more comfortable - for all of the amenities and details in other parts of the resort, it was odd that the mattress and linens weren't better. I found the Lodges while looking for a COVID era anniversary trip with my wife. I had eaten at the Boathouse Restaurant in the past (this is the on premise restaurant) and thought the Lodges seemed like a nice place to stay when I was there. When I searched further I found the rates to be very reasonable. Note: I went in November though, which is off-season for Lake George. They had a completely contact-free check in process. I never had to interact with anyone in person. Which, depending on your view of this COVID nonsense, can be a good or bad thing. Personally, I prefer the human touch. The room is rustic with a log cabin feel, but very clean. My room had a balcony overlooking the lake, which was worth the price alone. My wife and I sat outside each night to take in the sites. The location is perfect. It is just outside of Lake George Village so you're not exposed to the busy season craziness and just a few miles from beautiful Bolton Landing, which has some wonderful eateries. My only complaints are the weak remote battery and one outlet not working. Not enough to bring the rating down in my opinion. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. read more

This hospitality lodge is not customer centric at all. The manager and employee (that I dealt with) are not friendly when there is a challenge or opportunity. They don't know how to be respectful. We had 3 reservations for New Year's Eve. They miss quoted us after taking the payment. I attempted to make reservation and they said increased the rates. They said their employee made a mistake and you will not get that rate. I asked to speak to the manager the firs time I called, yesterday, and I was Told no. She said If I go that route they will raise the rates of my friends. After looking up a manager on LinkedIn I was able to get the managers name and leave a message. They employee who booked my friends room had to call me and own up to his mistake (btw that's terrible the manager did that to the kid). I asked to speak to Jessica and she called me back saying they won't honor the price. I told her how disappointed I was in the way they are handling this and I will/ friends will not go there anymore. The girl and manager , Jessica, were extremely rude. I will take this up with ny state and many organizations on consumer disclosures. She said that's fine, see that how that works out for you and we are a coop. It's one thing to make a mistake, it's another to not honor pricing that you already took payment on and not to mention the lousy attitude. Go somewhere else. I wanted to take advantage of the long weekend (Valentine's/President's Day) to relax and get away for a quiet weekend with my husband. Typically we stay at the Sagamore or Inn at Erlowest (both of which are excellent), but since both were booked Friday and Saturday I figured I'd try somewhere new. I regret that very much. The lodges themselves are just as pictured/well-maintained and the views are beautiful. The front desk staff were also very helpful. However, the walls are PAPER thin. Valentine's night we were next to a couple who fought all evening (e.g. screaming about how "it wasn't the room she wanted"), and above us kids were running back and forth loudly for hours. The couple next door also woke up at 6am on Saturday to do laundry - which I assume is to next to the adjoining door based on the noise level - and to continue their complaining. The women at the front desk were kind enough to change our room to the top floor and tried to be accommodating, but also moved the same people who were previously next to us upstairs as well (as they also complained about the noise from above and wanting a room change more generally). The rest of the weekend we heard their every conversation, sneeze and cough. I taped audio near the door that adjoins the rooms as an example. They also had friends over on Sunday so we put on music to try and drown them out but still were able to hear them over it. I considered getting a room at the Sagamore Sunday night and just eating the $250 per night here - but my husband convinced me to just stick it out at that point. I felt so badly the weekend I was hoping to relax and unwind was ruined. Next time I'll stick to the places I know or do an AirBnB. If you're looking to stay here I'd suggest a top floor, stand alone room unless you're looking for an experience like ours. read more

This was our family's first time visiting Lake George and we were really pleased with the Lodges at Cresthaven. Our lodge (26) was the perfect size and space for 5 of us (2 adults, 3 kids: 17 and twin 10 year olds). The twins took the bunk beds in the 1st floor bedroom, the teen took the comfortable pull out couch, and we enjoyed our privacy upstairs in the primary bedroom. The property is well kept with beautiful landscaping. The infinity edge pool with the indoor / outdoor experience was a highlight - we even enjoyed cooling off in the little kiddie pool, too. The hot tub under the grotto was relaxing - 18 years and over which seems a little strict but I understand they're trying to reserve space for the adults. The beach was nice with plenty of chairs and friendly ducks! Service was great. Having the restaurant on site was a big attraction for us but unfortunately the menu and pricing was unappealing. We are by no means cheap but you could drink for cheaper than some of the appetizers...(that is the only reason for it not being 5 stars). We loved our stay and absolutely would recommend it without reservation - hope to be back soon! read more

In my opinion this is one of the nicest places to stay in lake George . All units are well built , fully stocked with kitchen , living room 2 bathrooms etc washer dryer balcony all you need for a successful visit We arrived on a whim and found unit 42 to be a great spot , we have 2 little ones and it was next to playground . We played basketball , badminton , used the deee kayaks and paddle boards, they have children's activities we participated in daily . Very well thought out place . The staff was always kind and welcoming. Each young adult was a pleasure to talk to and hear how they are locals and getting ready to go back to college .. I loved the 730 fire , the adult hot tub , the grounds were magnificent . The restaurant was hit or miss but it would not deter me from returning . Food was inconsistent , same dish on different days missing parts of it - but all was corrected . I really cannot wait to go back . I'm very interested in a time share if I can make it happen . We chose the Lodges at Cresthaven for a get away weekend. My husband and I have never been to Lake George before and were excited to visit the area. We were extremely disappointed by our stay. The hotel room we were given in the Lodge had paper thin walls. The people in the room next to us were very loud and up all night making it impossible for us to get any sleep. The mattress on the bed was very uncomfortable, soft and saggy making the situation even worse. For the almost $180/night we expected more. While we enjoyed Lake George, we definitely won't be back to this hotel. We'll be going home exhausted! read more

Is this place real? The cabin my family and I are staying in is literally from a dream I've had. It is hard to believe that a place like this is available to whoever is willing to pay. It is definitely on the pricey end of things, but so UNBELIEVABLY worth it. The following is a list of a few things about our cabin that blow my mind: -The lighting: the lighting throughout the cabin is placed in such ways that the lights not only brighten the room, but also show-off the gorgeous texture of the cabin cedar walls. Really aesthetic. -The smell: they've gotta be pumping in some sort of aroma through the windows when we're not looking, because the whole place has such a wonderful smell, and it's not just the smell of the wood. -The views: we are staying in a lakeside cabin that sits right by the water. We have two porches, one off the living room/kitchen and one upstairs, both of which have a table and four chairs to enjoy the views. It's really beautiful. -The comfort level: every piece of furniture was tested out before purchasing, I'm sure of it. From the beds to the kitchen chairs and counter bar stools, the seating and other furniture is perfectly comfortable. Cresthaven definitely had their customers in mind when they designed these cabins. -The aura: You know you're in the Adirondacks, and not just because you literally are. You stay in an actual cabin, and a beautiful one at that, with a wondrous view of Lake George, surrounded by the beautiful greenery of upstate NY. I feel like a relaxed, yet semi-glamorous lumberjack. Other awesome features: -Hammocks all over the campus of Cresthaven -Wooden swing sets for every cabin -Private beach -Wifi -Wonderful indoor decor -Indoor and outdoor heated pool -Recreation center -Totally super playground for "kids" (and myself) -Friendly ducks -Great service The Lodges at Cresthaven are 167000% worth the price you pay. This place is BEAUTIFUL...we booked on a quick let's get away for winter festival. We are a family of 5. Our youngest is 15.. so all adult sized. Our "cabin" is amazing. I loved our steam shower. The fact there is a washer and dryer a bonus. we have stayed at many places with a kitchen..well this one is top notch No plastic plates..no junk utensils I could actually cook here and I did and I enjoyed it. Morning coffee on our patio/deck even though it was chilly was so relaxing all you hear is birds and you see the snow on the mountains and the frozen lake. it is stunning. our kids enjoyed the game room and I was informed I hafta buy a ping pong table now..The beds are outstanding even on the pullout chair. we will be coming back next winter and I cannot wait read more

Wow. The pictures on the website do not do justice for their Oak Tree Lodge! We stayed here for 3 nights over Valentine's weekend. A short getaway for our famly of 5. We were not expecting such a modern and clean "cabin space". Although it resembles a wood lodge, it has all the modern day amenities built in. I'm not sure how old the building is, but it looks brand new/ or maintained very very well. There were no issues at all with furniture/ rugs/ etc. The bedrooms were located on opposite sides of the living room. My children stayed in one bedroom while my husband and I stayed in the other. The entire living space is beautifully appointed with aesthetically pleasing rustic looking furniture. But all the electronics were modern day. Flat screen TVs were located in each room. Each able to connect to internet (Youtube, etc). There is a fireplace unit in the living room. The kitchen housed all the kitchenware and cutlery you would need to prepare meals. Also stocked with kitchen appliances (toaster, blender, coffeemaker) There is also a washer and dryer in the unit that wasn't advertised online. Laundry and dish soap were provided. The bathroom in my chilldren's room had a jacuzzi. Ours was a large walk in shower, with built in steam shower unit. It was a nice touch. The view of Lake George could be seen from every room. The lake was frozen by the second day we were there and it was a spectacular view. The outside patio had several tables and chairs, but it was too cold for us to use. A cold front moved in and temperatures were -15. We came for the Lake George Winter Carnival, unfortunately a lot of the activities were cancelled due to the subzero temperature. Nonetheless, we had a great time staying in. We left a few times to go grocery shopping and to some local chain restaurants- all a short 15 min drive away. We also visited the Adirondack Outlets. The only complaint we have... Our unit was on the top floor. The elevator was not functioning and we asked the front desk about it and was told it was acting up and would not be back up. When it started to snow the last two days, walking down two flights of stairs was really hazardous because the floor was tiled and slippery. I saw they laid down a rug to prevent slipping on the first floor, but not on the second our third floors. beware. Overall, we highly recommend this lodge!! We can't wait to come back in the summer. read more

We stayed in cabin 3 off the beach for a week and it was beautiful. A bit small and some of the amenities were out of order but we made due and the staff quickly got us a few replacements. The pool veiws and temperature are to die for! My wife ,and I had dinner at the Boat House ,an on Resort restaurant on the lake. It was fine, if you're a foodie like myself you may be a little disappointed with this run of the mill play it safe menu, of old school continental delight. Its pre-made frozen deserts definitely cost them a star. Booooo!! The entire lake is similar, as I couldn't find a decent wine shop anywhere . Get your wine in Saratoga before arriving at George. ....The lake itself is fabulous, and Crystal clear with lots of shallow reefs and coves for diving or fishing. Renting a boat from Chic's is recommended. Cresthaven is probably already aware their gym is far too small and is in the process of rectifying that issue. ....at least I hope they are....I would visit again and probably make them aware of our high end demands prior to arrival next time. read more

My wife and I just stayed here for our "baby moon." The place was simply fantastic! But let's give the pros & cons... PROS: This is a luxury lodge, and accommodations did not disappoint. All the furniture is hand carved wood, and really, the entire rustic motif of the lodge was superb. The walls were paneled in wood. The chairs, the table, the ceiling fans, the wall sconces, even the bathroom toilet tissue holder... all unique wooden design. Also, the lodges overlook Lake George. There's nothing more satisfying than waking up in the morning to the sunlight streaming in from the veranda, making a cup of coffee, and drinking it outside to the serenity of the lake. I don't want to forget the shower, which was extremely large and featured a built in steam-room function. Really top notch. Cresthaven is also conveniently located beside the Boathouse Restaurant, a one minute walk. The lodges are only about one mile from the center of town, as well. There are many lower end options available on the lake, but this is one of the best higher end options, for sure. It also includes a gameroom, a volleyball court, a small beach area, a pool which is indoor/outdoor, a playground, a hammock area, etc. Our unit (#50), also included a full kitchen, a washer/drier, a family room with pullout couch, etc. CONS: When originally calling to book the room, the guest service person had a very difficult time answering simple questions about what was included in each room, the size, the proximity to the lake, etc. The website is a bit lackluster (very hard to tell the difference from one lodge/cabin type to another), and the live person didn't do much to clear anything up. In fact, I'm pretty sure she was reading from a script. I had actually asked the same question in several different ways and got nowhere. Oh well. We booked anyway on the hunch it would be an excellent venue. Other cons... the gameroom wasn't tolerable as it smelled horribly like a very strong cleaning agent. The indoor/outdoor pool, which was 85 degrees, was nice, but was a bit small and was also under construction during our visit. We got to use it, but it wasn't entirely relaxing. The TVs in our room were large and high-def, but there was no way to turn off "true motion" (i.e. soap opera effect), and there didn't appear to be a guide channel. Overall, we found this to be a 5-star location and are eager to return. read more

Wow. Where do I start? Okay I'll start with the price. Yes, this place is super expensive, but we found that when we shared it with another couple, the price was more reasonable (although still pricey.) However, I must say, this place is amazing. From the second you pull onto the hotel grounds you see all of the log cabin houses, and you are totally drawn into the Lake George experience. We have only stayed in one particular room each time we went, in the large building with three floors. The room has two bedrooms and is joined in the middle by a living room, with a huge glass balcony over looking the lake. There is a full working kitchen with full sized appliances and all of the small appliances, utensils and extras needed to cook- should you want to cook on vacation. The room itself was spectacular. The attention to detail is amazing. Every corner of the room is wood, or filled with an accessory or piece of furniture that was carved from wood or brings you right back to fishing on the lake and all of its charm. It's a great place to bring kids. It's a stay they won't soon forget. Just let make sure you save up your money before you go there. read more

Stop it. Just Stop It. This is my dream place, dream wedding venue, when I stay here it is like a dream. Every time I leave I just want to plan the next time I can go back. YES it is pricey, but I do think it is worth it if you can comfortably afford it. I am transported to what feels like some foreign area when i come here. These lodges are so beautiful, and always serve as a home kind of feeling where the family has a great time. The lodges are so darn cozy, and always clean! I love having a kitchen so we can cook our own food on the nights we do not want to go out. Our room the last time we went had two terraces that overlooked a moving creak, which was so beautifully, and the sound of the water put me to sleep every night. The views from the property edge is unlike anything I have ever seen. I dream of that view all the time. The view from the pool is so fantastic. On the property you have the indoor/outdoor pool (one in the same), small gym, game room, private beach, and famous boathouse restaurant. I still have yet to eat at that restaurant. I know weddings there are rather expensive. But i just love this place. If you spend the day on the beach and pool waiters walk around taking food and drink orders for you. There is also FREE kayaking and canoeing which for me is a major plus. That stuff can get expensive, and here you just take it for free, and use it as long as you want. That was a pretty nicer perk. This place is also so close to main strip. I lvoed how I can lay at the pool in paradise, then at night leave and go to the busier section of Lake George.... omg When can i go back? Stayed here with my family and LOVED it.. It was a beautiful resort and the grounds were amazing. The Log Cabin was spotless. My kids LOVED it. My advice is stay away from downtown Lake George it was a bit "trashy" instead make a right turn out of the Lodge and go to Bolton's Landing just a few miles down the road it is the cutest little village. I loved this vacation and would totally recommend it to families with young and older kids. read more

We cancelled our reservations for two rooms seven weeks prior to when we were due to come up. We were charged $75.00 per room. We had to cancel due to serious family illness. I feel we gave the Hotel ample notice to cancel and have them rebook the rooms. It is double dipping if they get the rooms booked. Also the woman I spoke to was very unfriendly and unprofessional. We recently traveled to the resort last weekend for a lovely Fathers Day getaway. This place is truly a "resort" with gorgeous views, amenities, and the grounds are impeccably maintained! The rooms are rustic and gorgeously decorated, giving you the true Adirondack experience. Each room has a lake view which is SUCH a bonus to customers! The balconies provide lovely lake views, even from the top of the hill where we stayed (Unit #48)! The pool (while we didn't get a chance to use it) was said to be a constant 85 degrees, and the outdoor seating options were gorgeous!! The Minne Ha-Ha makes regular trips by and is such a sight to see! On Saturday night of our stay, we had an amazing fireworks display - set off right in front of the Boathouse Restaurant, providing us with a 5 star view! Wonderful experience overall and we can't wait to book our next return stay! There were far more pros at Cresthaven than I can think of cons, however I must remark on some things that provided for a less than perfect experience. First off, I booked through Expedia as their prices were greater than $100 less/night than when I called Cresthaven directly. After booking online, I called the resort the next day to confirm my reservation and ask questions about late arrival. I was told that the 1 bedroom suite that I had booked was no longer available and that I was being upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite at no additional charge. Upon speaking with the desk an additional time (the day before arrival) it remained confirmed that we would be staying in a 2br suite with private balcony, however they were not able to tell me which lodge #. Upon arriving that evening about 7pm, our keys were included in an informative packet in a mailbox next to the door at the welcome center. Upon arriving in our room, we noticed that we had the king bedroom, and when attempting to open to the door to the adjoining "48A", the door did not open, and another couple had then arrived. There is unfortunately no one present at the office past 6pm which leaves no one to contact in case of any issues with the room. The space that we thought would provide a private balcony was indeed not private at all. The other couple was constantly out there, but feet from our sliding glass door making it impossible to comfortably enjoy the view and the covered space. That next morning upon checking in, I asked about the change in accommodations and the girl in the back room came out and said "oh yea, that was me! I know I had upgraded you, but we had a last minute cancellation, so we moved you back to the original reservation....Im sorry I'm a bit of an "Indian giver" but thats how things go sometimes". This was FAR from a professional response, in my personal opinion. Never had we been notified by email, text or phone of the accommodation change. This turned out to be okay as we had a pull-out couch for our two small children, yet just the day before my parents were planning to come with us and pay the additional guest fees, given that we thought we had a 2nd room! Luckily this didn't happen as there would not have been any space for them to stay! While checking in, I also asked if the ladies could navigate me to a neighboring resort called "Bayview" that my best friend was staying at for the week. I was told by BOTH ladies that they had "never heard of it...and that I must have the name wrong"....my friend assured me that their resort actually shares beach rights with Cresthaven, and when I asked her about this was told that Cresthaven has a private beach with no access from any other neighboring resorts. Come to find out later, the Bayview resort is in fact directly next door, just up Rt 9N, and has a bridge and gate directly to the Cresthaven Beach. I am unsure why there was dishonesty here as I was simply trying to navigate the location! Finally, to our surprise, the fold out bed in the main living room of our 1 bedroom suite actually had a built in device to inflate the mattress! This was great to provide extra comfort, but unfortunately deflated within 10 minutes and continued not to be functional over the course of the weekend. We will definitely be back as the "cons" were minor but certainly worth mentioning at the price point at which they rent our these timeshares. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and think that by chance some of these mishaps were just a freak incident! I would give the resort a solid 5 stars - the customer service however could use a little work :-) read more

Wha happened ? If you want housekeeping they will charge you extra fee ?! Wow !!!! I'm already thinking of coming back and planning a family trip. First thing I noticed right away was the location. The entire property has lake access which is a real bonus if you want to experience the Adirondacks. Second was the finishes. It looks and feels like a real log cabin only better because it has all the modern day conveniences like Wi-Fi, flat screen TV, whirlpool tub, & granite surfaces. The deck is spacious. Nice pool, small exercise and game room. Very nice beach with waitstaff in the summer. We eat at the boathouse many times over the summer coming there by boat. Great dock staff. This review would've definitely had a five star rating based on our visit alone. It was an amazing resort. In fact, we posted pictures the entire time on Facebook because we were so overwhelmed by our experience there. Our daughter absolutely loved every minute of it and we considered getting a timeshare. The staff is amazing. However, I must state that the front desk manager, Georgia really needs some guidance in proper customer service. I called because we had a discrepancy with our bill. Again, let me state we were enamored by this resort so much that we decided to stay an extra night. However, now based on my experience with Georgia, I think we will try another resort our next visit as there are many to choose from. I have been in sales for 25 years in the pharmaceutical industry and I was appalled by the manner in which she spoke to me. Not sure if she was just having a bad morning, but I can tell you I will not pay $500 plus a night to be spoken to that way. My question to her was very simple, that we had three charges and I just wanted to know if they were all charged the same credit card. I'm not sure why this was so difficult and why she needed to get so heated. It is very unfortunate that this exchange had happened because we were planning our next trip there. read more

I reserved a room for the "Romance Package" for two days. The room and grounds are absolutely beautiful. No complaints at all. My biggest complaint was our neighbors next door. There was a family of four that included two small children. Nothing against kids. I have two daughters of my own. Having said that, my daughters were always well behaved! These two were quite the opposite, and their parents had zero control of them. I don't know which was worse, the kids running around screaming like banshees from 6:30/7:00am until 10PM, or the parents screaming at them? When I checked out the desk clerk/manager? asked how our stay was? I replied "pretty good?" In my line of work that reply should have elicited a response? However, she just replied..."Ok...have a good day" I may go again to this resort, as it was very nice, but I would certainly question who was staying next door? read more

Beautiful log cabin with every modern amenity you could dream of The lake is just steps away. We stayed in a 2 br 2 ba with a washer and dryer in the unit. Granite kitchen too. Very clean! We like it better than the Sagamore! read more

Property was beautiful, no question there, but the service was sub par for a resort claiming to be Four Star. The women working in the office were disrespectful and rude when my wife expressed her concerns with the job housekeeping performed prior to our arrival. Maintenance came and go as they pleased without informing us of their presence. The pool was filthy. It was clear where the corners were underwater, as you would see sand accumulating there for days. My wife found more than one band aid in the pool during our visit. Not to mention the bathrooms in the interior pool, I would rather go outside. The BoatHouse restaurant, which provided us with our 'Room Service' was absolutely horrible. Styrofoam containers held our $28 a plate meals, which were delivered cold by a young gentleman in a golf cart who seemed to be intoxicated. Then he had the audacity to ask for a tip. I almost check out that night and demanded a refund, but my wife urged me to calm down and relax and give the place another chance. There seemed to be a lot of non english speaking workers there, which I have no problem with, except they made it clear they were not interested in helping us. One boy went out of his way to help us unload our luggage while it was raining, and he was clearly busy doing something else but took the time to help us AND refused my tip of $20. That experience made up for everything else that happened. While dining in the Boathouse, it was a much more enjoyable experience, thanks to the staff. The food was excellent, the staff was courteous, and portions were what you would expect for the price paid (unlike the delivery room service). We had the unfortunate experience of seeing the owning family eating together and arguing, making a complete mockery of themselves while the patriarch slept on a bench by the only restroom in the establishment. Its a good time to mention the restaurant only has a male and female restroom with one toilet each for the hundred people that eat there. It would be nice if they kept the bar open later, had more events for couples, and activities for children. Over all, I am glad we visited first before purchasing vacation rights. I would never suggest this resort for someone looking to invest in a vacation time share in Lake George. If they lowered their rates on the Lodge I would consider visiting again. read more
