I first remember going to the Indian Lake Theatre back in 1981 when my parents rented a house near…read more13th lake in North Creek. The movie was Gandhi. Years later I returned to Indian Lake. The Theatre was still there showing movies. A beautiful single screen theater. They were renting video tapes there as well back in the 90s. I have visited the theater every year since 2001 when I stay there for the summer for a week at Point Breeze Motel and cottages. Ownership of the theater changed to a nonprofit a few years after 2005. Theatre is still going strong with movies all throughout the year. They operate on a Thursday through Sunday schedule in the winter time. They have wonderful delicious popcorn with real butter and other great concession items. It's tough to run a theater even in the best of times. Theaters make absolutely nothing on ticket prices and rely on concession sales To make a profit. The presentation at this theater is excellent big screen good sound comfortable seats. So definitely if you're in the area make the trek to this theater. You'll be glad you did

Snacks were average, nothing to write home about. Theater was clean. Seats were comfortable, and actually did NOT fold up when you left (this was a plus! I was able to put my purse on the unoccupied seat next to me after the movie started. The location is good. Prices are average for the area. That's about all I can say for it.

The seats are not reclining, the projection is old-school christie projection, not laser, and the bulb seems old and dim. Spider-Man Brand New Day looked wash out and dull and lacking sharpness. The blacks weren't dark enough, the whites weren't bright enough. The picture straight up sucks compared to modern laser projection, as does the sound, which isn't even Atmos. It's 7.1, not even 7.2, so the room has strange bass nodes. It's the best we have around here, but it wasn't even state of the art when it was installed. T-rex is not a real format, it just means 3d-capable, which nobody even wants anyway.

The entry works pretty smoothly though, and since we had prepaid tickets, they were able to look us up, give us a map and we were parked quickly. I was there specifically for the Thomas Dambo exhibit. He is a Danish sculpture artist known for his giant trolls made out of recycled wood. Each troll is unique and has a name and purpose....to save the Humans and teach them about sustainability. The trails are beautiful in the woods and clearly marked. There was a beautiful section of the forest where an original piece of music was being played from 24 speakers as you followed the trail. An enchanting small lake filled with water lilies was out the back door of the main building. They have a small cafeteria and a nice gift shop.The building was full of interesting exhibits, including a tank with otters.
