I found Dr. Asturias through Yelp and I'm so glad I did! He clearly has deep expertise in breaking down scar tissue to promote healing. Over the past 4-5 weeks, I've had 7-8 sessions with him. Each one starts with wrist adjustments and stretching, followed by Graston therapy to break up scar tissue and improve circulation, and ends with light therapy to accelerate healing. I won't lie--each session is painful (feels like torture at times!), but I see noticeable results within a day or two. When I first saw him, I couldn't even push press a 10lb dumbbell or squat because I couldn't bend my wrist back. Also, I was feeling immense pain at the base of the palm with any contact. After just a few sessions, I was pressing my pre-surgery weight and squatting again without pain.
