Glamis &…read moreGordons Well have several camping areas, as well as promising days of fun & great riding for all levels. My review is mainly about Gordons Well, but I mention Glamis too. Glamis is considered the north side of the dunes, while Gordons Well is on the south side. Its an easy ride along the Sand Highway which connects the two if you want to go from one to the other ; About an hour or two depending on speed, stops, and whatever. Gordons Well is just 36 miles past El Centro, with a clearly marked exit. If you are dry camping, you will be at Dune Buggy Flats on the north side of I-8, or on the south side of the freeway at Buttercup, or Midway. Ogilby is just up a bit further. If you want a hassle free desert experience, try pulling in at McMillins RV Campground. I have been keeping my Toyhauler at McMillins RV Campground year round for the last four seasons. I like the full hookups. Camp Manager Brit Ford & his wife Ava, have maintained the camp on site for the last 15 yrs. There are a lot of desert people who do the same as I do, and some just stay for the season between Oct.1st thru May 31st., either way, its great to not have to haul your toys & RV back and forth. They also offer RV storage for the season, orvyear round. Overniters are welcome and they have shower & laundry facilities as well. Pets are welcome, but need to be leashed. They have ice & firewood available too. I like knowing that my trailer is in a safe, well maintained park. Next door is the former Pair-A-Dice diner, bar, & parts store, now known as Duners Diner. The new owner has a great , friendly staff, the outside eating area is nice, and the place serves breakfast, lunch & dinner on the weekends during Desert Season, and attracts a crowd at times. One of my favorite moments at Gordons Well is the Sand Drags. Racers of Sand Cars, Dirtbikes, Quads & SidebySides start lining up around 3pm and go til' dusk. This is big during holiday weekends, CRAZY FUN, but the Sheriffs & Rangers are out there trying to keep things safe too. Okay, thats my two cents worth!

And that is exactly what they have done for 3+ years. I have never had to question a decision, feedback given or advice they have offered - everything is in the best interest of each individual baby of mine. Marcia would give you the shirt off her back to help you, as would all of the teachers. They treat them as if they were their own. My kids genuinely love going to daycare every day to see their friends and favorite teachers. They follow state guidelines, because that is what is required of the facility to maintain their licensing. All situations are unique, and I have had my fair share of unique situations with my kids. They have MORE than accommodated, and made sure that myself and my husband are kept informed. I would recommend any honest and friendly family to this place, they have done so much for us to feel comfortable leaving our children with them full time. Don't believe all that you read, this place really is top tier and does the absolute best for your children.

Scratches on face and with no incident reports given to me. 2 incidents 1st day of the 1 yr old class. 1 incident right the following day. Another incident the 3rd week with no acknowledgement that my child had a real bad bite mark. They keep 1 to 3 yr olds early mornings and evenings with super poor supervision. Mind you all ages are supposed to be separated. Teachers are only there for a paycheck, not to care for our children. I lost all love and trust that i gained during his infant class for this facility. Terrible and poor care. Horrible to have to leave your child for care and gets sent home with bite marks every week. No precautions were tooken instead they argued that there's only 1 yr olds in that room.

I love Mount Laguna!!! I've been hiking and mountain biking out here for years. It's got such a…read morevaried landscape, ranging from huge desert overlooks to green meadows and trees. There is adequate parking along sunrise Highway pretty much anywhere you go. You are supposed to have an adventure pass to park here and they have a kiosk to pay for it but it never works. Fortunately if you have the America, the beautiful pass, you can put that on your dashboard and that will cover it. Today, my man and I went out and did a hike on the PCT portion to Foster point. Absolutely stunning, one of my favorite overlooks in the area. On this portion of the trail, there is very little tree cover and you've got to be careful not to get dehydrated. It was only 74° and it got toasty in the sun. We were out there for three hours, and I had 3 L of water. I drank pretty much all of it and a Gatorade bottle that I brought. If you come out here for biking, be sure to hit Los Gatos Trail. It's so flowy and fun and has a bunch of little features you can play on. Noble Canyon is a legendary trail but if you are going to ride it, make sure you've got strong bike skills because it is quite technical.

We could tell that the snow recently melted because parts of the trail was muddy. There are at least 4 trails here. The trails range from easy to moderate depending which one you go on. Plenty of space to spread…read moreout w/ your RV and/or your camping group - there aren't any local resources (water, waste dump sites, etc.), so everything is pack-in-pack-out. Keep the area clean and don't litter!! The desert mountains are beautiful and spacious - tons of places to offroad with your 4x4, truck, or SUV. There's an AWESOME 4x4 obstacle course built by State Parks that have countless obstacles that are of varying difficulty and vehicle capability. On a busy weekend it's lots of fun to watch everyone run their trucks/4x4 vehicles up the rocks and through the dirt tracks. Everything gets super dusty, so make sure you have a face covering or buff to keep the desert dust/dirt out of your lungs. If you really want to get away and be remote - this is a beautiful place to spend the weekend. The Ranger Station and Discovery Center (great for kids) is along the southern edge of the park and is more developed with more resources. If you're in the area and looking for a desert trip, this is the place to visit.

If you're tired of the scene at 24-Hour Fitness and/or Gold's, check this place out -- not only will you get a lot more, you'll get a lot more for your money.

The Pacific Ave Athletic Complex (PAAC) went up about a month or so ago, and triggered my curiousity after seeing the construction, plus how it's lit up at night while baseball games go on...hmmm...let's check it out. Went there mid morning...here's what I saw... - Ample parking - A man-made lake with rentable gazebo's by it - Nicely kept baseball fields, electronic scoreboards, very tall fence-thingies (sorry, I'm writing this review late at night)...the places to sit were like concrete slabs...but decent! And under some sort of shade -An age appropriate playing area - A shaded snack area (no ATM's, maybe cash only) - Plenty of overhead lights for those night games Reviews on Google say no outside food allowed or they have certain fees...not sure about that. I guess people don't mind as it seems busy on evenings and nights. Yuma needed this so...here it is. Worth checking out.
